Nicely done.
Losing
I find it easy to shake off losses where I just get out classed. On the other hand those matches where I lose from something simple like missing a anti air or some silly form of execution… those are the ones that can drag my game down for a match or 2. However, when I’m just practicing in rank matches these days I find pulling out and poping into training mode generally will rectify the situation. Do one clean set player 1 then player 2 side helps me to focus. That usually helps me by relaxing my input and taking off the pressure for the next time I see whatever caused me to lose the match.
Depends. In a lot of cases I can tell what I’m walking into. If I lose to someone about as good as me then I’ll try to figure out if it’s me being predictable or them being good. I’ll get mad at myself LONG before I get mad at the one who beat me. If it’s someone clearly better then me then I’ll takes the matches as “practice”. Though I do have a 10 loss rule in arcades. Seriously, if I couldn’t figure out how to win by the 10th then it’s a good idea to stop playing and go back to the drawing board. Sometimes continuing to play when you’re already down makes you play worse. All in all though, I’m a good sport. As annoying as losing is, it teaches you more then only playing people who KNOW you can beat. If the difference in skill level is too great then I’ll usually sit back and watch the guy to see if there’s anything I can learn from his style…
When I lose, I get angry. Especially when I know my opponent wasent even good. Then I remind myself that I still suck at this game and I just need more practice. Always calms me down.
I’ll only be angry if I felt that I shouldn’t have lost to that player, which is only a third of the time. If I feel the other player was just better I don’t devote much thought to it. If I thought the other player was inferior I reflect for a moment to figure out what I should correct for next time.
In either case I try to get another game as quickly as possible.
IF i lose, i just keep in my mind that the person i lost too can never whip my ass in real life.
that alone puts a Mac N Cheese grin on my mug.
But i get EXTREMELY pissed if i lost to someone who just uses scrub tactics and they flare off like they’re hot shit and the best of the best and no one can touch them afterwards, when i knew i could beat them.
Don’t even get me started on those type of scrubs that do that, play 1 game, get 1 lucky win, then quit and never play you again cuz they knew the beating was coming.
