Dealing with crossups

So I think that I’m finally starting to get a better hang of Glacius as I’ve played it more. I find myself playing smarter and also seem to be controlling spacing better now with all of the tools Glacius has to offer.

However, there is a technique from some Jago’s that is extremely basic that seems to be very frustrating to me. I think part of the reason it’s so frustrating to me is that it’s just annoying as shit and extremely simple to do.

I’ve noticed more and more Jago’s who will simply do a crossup on me, then do a cr.mp, then do another crossup on me, cr.mp, etc. And they will just continue to do this then try to maybe toss in a tick throw or something. It is just odd that I’ve seen this A LOT recently from different Jago players. And again, it’s very basic, and that alone doesn’t do much damage, but it’s just annoying.

How are you all dealing with this type of pressure? I know if I have meter I can do shadow hail, but what if you don’t have meter?

I’m just curious what most of your guys strategy is to deal with crossups as Glacius, as he’s slow and can’t just dash out. I have also been using the shadow cold shoulder to get out of pressure like that, but again, it requires bar.

If they’re abusing it you can just use regular cold shoulder (MK or HK). Just do the cold shoulder as soon as they jump. That gets you out just about as well as long as you do it early enough that they can’t land and shadow wind kick in time.

There’s pretty much something you can do as long as you have meter including shadow countering the j.HP and punishing the crouching attack that comes after.

Most Jagos never do this very ambiguously so it’s easy to just continually block and you can just keep blocking until you get the meter to do something with meter. I would say you can LP puddle punch and catch their trip guard, but I don’t remember how well that works against cross ups.

@purbeast I found auto correct LK or MK puddle punch works really well as well. Just do regular puddle punch in the direction he’s doing the cross up and the puddle punch will auto correct and hit him. If you time it correctly it will catch his trip guard and put him in a grounded combo.
