i’m so sick and tired of games not letting you play on the hardest mode off the bat, if i played a game through on hard i dont have time or the inclination to do it again on impossible. Its just fucking stupid, at the end of my first playthrough last week, on hard, i ended up with so much money and a huge stockpile of ammo i wasl iterally just blasting like a madman come the end of the game. i’m going to do an insane run just for completions sake but really i’m not going to enjoy it since i’ve done it all before.
Also auto save is stupid, the game is far to lenient with death. no incentive to stay alive when a checkpoint happens every 2 seconds. you sohuld have to save and reload from that point. it all adds to the atmosphere.
I can’t see resource management being an issue here, i think the game would be truly great if you actually had to run away from a lot of stuff. regardless its still my fav game that i’ve played this year.
I also need to finish DS1. I whipped it out last night and went through a couple chapters…then brushed and flossed before bed while wondering why I stopped playing it in the first place. It’s fun…and the ship sounds had me whipping out a weapon and turning to cover my rear and flank. had that shit for a year now and put in less than 5 hours…well, I’m gonna correct THAT.
it’s got the best ambient sound effects of any game i’ve played in my life. My sound system is pretty badass, and the sounds of pipes clanging and all that sort of creepy stuff was exceptional
Indeed, the sound is probably the best quality in DS1, exceptionally done. I’m probably going to pick it up again later today and do a quick run through to get familiar with the controls and play style again before the game drops. Only thing I already hate doing is those fucking asteroid shooting segments, what a fucking snag those are.
^This. DS2’s demo was my first taste of DS. And After playing the demo, I preo’d the DS2LE for 360.(Larger FL on that side, I like chatting while playing SP games…even if it is mostly silence lol) But after seeing the MP, I got a lil bit more excited. And decided “Fuck it” and got DS1 via games on demand, and so far Im very much enjoying it. Although, I love the stomp in DS2…he starts cussing and doing a goddamned hoe down XD. Havn’t been excited about a SP exp since Uncharted 2(been co-oping/competing it up mostly)
Ignition is GARBAGE. If you didn’t get it as a preorder bonus, don’t even bother. Just read the wiki.
All the reviews so far have been basically 9/10. Super hyped, trying to think of a way to get to a midnight launch (work night shift). I’m going to be getting the PS3 version.
Damn…probably too late to pre-order, huh? I forgot to keep an eye on this one, and Gamestop likes to claim they only order the deluxe pacages as pre-orders, and don’t have any just sitting around.
Yeah, I realized/ remembered what Ignition was last night. Bleh. Something is unlocked by virtue of having played it, at least. I’m 360 all the way, but glad PS3 folks got an edge this time. I feel like MS is always dropping the cash for early/ exclusive stuff.

I don’t even think you need toplay all the way through ignition, just like the first of the puzzles and you get the unlock. Game is so terrible. Damn. Damn, terrible.
Anyway, I think Extraction may be move only, but I’m not sure. I think I read DS3 compatable a few places, and I don’t want to get a move since I’m not getting any other games until Uncharted 3.
