You can probably use one of the highest level Quests with a match against Phase 4 to get the feel for the match up.
I am still extremely surprised that Quest Mode with all the characters playable is available in the free to play and the maligned Story Mode is a $20 add on (good riddance). Core Fighters is kind of ridiculous in the amount of content it provides. I enjoyed the package so much that I bought a Christie with what little digital credit I had at the moment. I was going to buy more, but I donāt have nearly enough time to enjoy them at the moment, so I will get them when I have a little more free time. Contrary to your experience I am actually surprised by the amount of enjoyment I am getting out of the game. I hope the game did well enough to secure more content in the future (without sacrificing quality).
Donāt get me wrong, I do enjoy it even though my posts not always look that way. Itās better now that everyone whoās been playing DOA for a while has moved on so Iām currently learning the game together with similarly strong (or weak) players around C and C+.
I do disagree with their DLC policy though and on a personal level I really donāt like a couple of matchups that are straight up āunfunā (most notably Helena, but sheās thankfully rarely played). Overall itās a nice fighter though and unlike SCVI itās actually possible for me to play it online with good connections.
Stun with 9 P/K and P+K,P,P or P,P,->P,PP after any combo that ends in a launcher or wall splat. Inside tutorials there are sections with juggles and combos, I would also advise doing the Combo Challenge for Hitomi.
P.S. @d3v Do you know of any while rising attacks or a way to speed up moves that require holding 3 (down-forward).
Hitomi has deathfists and 236K to whiffpunish with if necessary regardless. Feels good.
She also has Devil Jinās laser scraper in 4PPP, which is a natural combo even if delayed / charged and is +4 on block if charged. I know holds keep the move somewhat under control, but DAMN thatās still a sick move. 3P+K is pretty insane too, tracking mid with frame advantage.
Yeah, the whiff punish thing only starts to be a thing in B rank and not even for everyone.
Iām still in C and got up to a 12 win streak yesterday (again) just by standing outside of peopleās ranges until they mash a string and then interrupting it/whiff punishing it.
I also noticed that offensive holds can feel super cheap on my rank. My Mila spends as much time on the ground riding people than standing or moving around.
I was surprised the entire round was so one sided. This game provides so many opportunities to get away. Regardless, there is some Bayman tech I can salvage. Some of the things that can be done in this game continue to surprise me (especially with Hyabusa in heavily interactive stages).
