After watching people play it on normal and hard difficulty I guess it’s still something I’ll wind up playing. I’m just pretty unhype about where the direction seems to be going.

The stealth segments and the hitting the trigger buttons to crawl up walls and things all seem horribly implemented. And fuck, the game has full move support so you can feel like you’re “really swinging a sword,” I mean wtf.

Looking forward to this game though!

I want this game simply because it is DOA. Hopefully all of the boss characters are playable again like they are in Dimensions.
Hopefully the ninjas will be able to use the torn sky blast in combat this time around too.

The fact that wounded enemies don’t fight back tells us literally nothing at all about the game’s difficulty. What kind of fight do they put up beforehand? On level 2? On the hardest difficulty? Of the finished game? The fact that somebody even bothered to put together that gif to parade it around as evidence is exactly the kind of thing that’s giving me a headache. There are some valid concerns, but way more flaking out over trivial shit.

Hero Mode is no worry either – they’re trying to reach out to a more casual crowd while leaving the ‘real’ game intact.

While I appreciate your humor, I still do think it’s a very valid concern. ESPECIALLY since we have precedents to go by, in two different aspects.

Even the basic spider-ninja mook in the last game put up a decent fight. Cut their legs off and they would STILL try to crawl after you, just so that maybe they could try to latch on to an unwary player and blow themselves up in your face. These guys right here in NG3 are only doing more to remind me of Metroid: Other M (another Team Ninja Dog “classic”), where the AI there was just as dim-witted and basically posed little resistance as Samus plowed right through them. Even on the game’s Hard Mode, the only real bit of difficulty was that you didn’t have Energy Tanks, so enemies could stand to kill you in 1-3 hits. But the enemies themselves were NOT any more aggressive. If that’s the best we could stand to see in NG3, as well, then that will be a sheer disappointment.

So, honestly? I can only give Hayashi and his crew so much in the way of “good will”. They disappointed me when it came to Other M, DOA: Dimensions and honestly, NG3 doesn’t look so hot in my eyes. I want to like DOA5, however, DOA: D already stands as a reminder of what I could stand to expect from this team. So, to say that I’m “cautiously pessimistic” is an understatement. :lol:

Man, there were nude edits for DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball on consoles too. Though if the game was on PC then fuck yeah, but not for the nude edits.

im thinking more along the line in Dynamic Motion Synthesis. since DOA combat is traditionally simplistic it would probably excel in amazing ways gameplaywise, which would put it on the same level depth-wise as tekken but in a much more situational fashion. Virtua fighter was trying to go that route in vf3 but the public wasn’t ready for it so they put it back to a tournament style flat surface.

Dynamic Motion Synthesis only effecting situations cosmetically will allow people to get/feel/understand the different areas of gameplay dynamics.

I wonder if Irene will finally become a playable character. She’s already pretty heavily involved in the plot as of Dimensions and it’s high time they gave her something else to do other than get captured to be saved by Ryu.

Are you talking about using Dynamic Motion Synthesis for the characters or the environment? Because I can assure you the playable fighters won’t have any randomness to their movements. (except Brad Wong of course)

According to one of the interviews, that was because Genshin would kill any of his subordinates if they returned without having killed Ryu, so in order to save them dishonor Ryu would obliterate them after being dismembered. The military forces in NG3 don’t really care for that, that’s why they beg for mercy. Not saying it’s good, just what what it is.

COMBO SYSTEM:
why did they break it ? why did they even tamper with it ?!
when playing with lei fang … i put my oponent in stun and then pressed ub+PP,H,up+K … now normally H in the middle should cancle the combo chain and then the up+K should let u launch your opponent … WHY DOESNT THIS WORK IN THIS GAME ?!

other dumb things like … db+PP into forward+PK should give you a launch … but the K doesnt even connect !!!

COUNTER SYSTEM:
i think enough people have complained about this already but eliminating forward+H to counter mid kicks eliminates alot of mixup possibilities … this was particularly important for characters like genfu and eliot …

the computer controlling player 2 ?!!?! seriously ?! if they didnt want to focus on tag they should never have put it in the first place !!
why play a 20 tag challenge with an idiotic AI that tags itself in whenever it feels like it ruining any launch combo you set up !? and why the hell doesnt it do anything useful once its acctually in ?! seriously whos the idiot in team ninja that decided this was a good idea ?!? he should be shot in the head !!

add to that the attacking tag DOES NOT EXSIST IN THIS GAME !! and no stomp tag either … this is pathetic …

CONTROL CONFIG:
THE GAME ONLY USES 3 BUTTONS ?!! why the hell do i have to assign every damn button !? and why isnt there a H+P+K button!? my layout is … b=H , y=P , a=K , x=P+K … i dont need anything else cuz i can press the combinations myself !!

NO TAG TRAINING, TAG SURVIVAL MODE, TAG TIME ATTACK:
seriously that is the most pathetic thing … the mechanics are all in the game , and the the team throws are all in… so why on earth did they decide on not putting it in the game ?!

NO GAME CONFIG :
there are virtually no options to fix apart from the controler and language … what the hell !

CHRONICLE:
they had a great idea and ruined it with stupid stills and frozen lips … they had all the voices recorded … so why not just move the fricken lips ?! add to that the crappy cut and paste job they did with many of the cinematics … and the poor quality of music in the CG sequences that were meant to be amazing … ( i dont care if ur an aerosmith fan or not … the music they have instead is garbage)

NO STORY MODE AND NO ENDINGS:
you dont get any of the special encounters and none of the endings … (CG or not) … again … disapointing …

NO MOVE CHALLENGE IN TRAINING MODE:
the DOA series in my opinion revolutionized 3D training modes … and they managed to ruin that and reduce it to the crap they have to offer.

ONLINE:
is just … argh … DOA4 to this day has an amazing connection … even when playing someone in another continent !
… so they let you play with old bosses and gave genra a new set of usable moves and made him throwable … is that worth it ?! … to be honest … with all the junk they did to the game … no …

this goes to show that the team ninja is just a pile of idiots without Itagaki … he set the standard for quality control… weather it was the fighting engine itself , the tag engine , the online , the cinematics , the CGI , the button config , EVEN THE FRICKEN COSTUMES THEY’VE BEEN BOASTING ABOUT … it was all better before …

they’ve recycled ninja gaiden 2 with sigma 2 and made it easier and dumber
they’ve recycled doaX with paradise and added some crap generic character
and now this … but this is by far the worst they could have done … they’ve ruined everything itagaki built … if theres any hope for a good DOA5 … they better fix this junk !

so yes … a team that F*cked over one of my all time favorite games in every damn possible way they can think of thinking its a GOOD IDEA … and claiming they were listening to fans when creating the game and balancing it out is complete and utter bullcrap !

You can use him. I forget what you have to hold down, but I think it’s pushing L+X+A, R+X+A, or L+R+X+A on the random select option. The three different commands will determine which outfit he has. He’s a mix of DOA3 and DOA4 Hayate. I believe he has the Raijin from Hayate’s DOA4 moveset which Hayate reverted back to his DOA3 style Nikiru (?) I believe.

dimentions was also the reson for the 3ds … and both the game and system are crap … >__>
