Dead or Alive 5

EDIT:…is that a female DeeJay?

Ahhhh that’s the site. Thanks a lot

And yes, yes that is a female Deejay. Ahahaha.

Here’s another goofy Deejay pic for you:

Then again it’s a free tournament with a 500 bucks pot, so I won’t read too much into it. The question is about whether DOA will get its own section, and if SCV couldn’t the chances of DOA getting its own section is indeed very slim.

and not just any female DeeJay…it’s Female Dee Jay Max. Why am I just now getting this? I need to get more sleep.

Dear lord…the fsd Helena forums are depressing…

LOL. The game hasn’t come to the stores yet and they are already bitching about Helena and La Mariposa.

On the bright side: Brad seems to be better this time. Maybe mid tier. At least not Brad tier this time around.

I personally believe that someone who players just needs to have really good space control; i.e. why her moves seem so unsafe. Just switch to different approaches based on the range you’re at and dont just throw out (read mash) moves. She just needs very precise control, thus why she’s technical. I really want to see how many more of her moves have different effects at different ranges (BlackMamba or DrDogg confirmed that she has moves like that).

Current speculation is that Helena has been nerfed due to the Japanese VF players who tested it not liking guaranteed damage.

that…doesnt make sense to me. So it’s rumored that to appease Japanese “VF players,” Team Ninja nerfed Helena to fit their needs by making her incapable of guaranteed damage…nope not clicking. If anything I’d make you work more for guaranteed damage by giving her moves different properties at different ranges. That way the japanese could put in work and not worry about guaranteed damage, while all the normal people can work for guaranteed damage.

I dont really believe that rumor (I don’t want my image of hot Japanese women tarnished), but it’s still sounds stupid to me and borderline depressing.

What do they mean by that? Is it mix-up damage or combo damage since VF5 has 50%+ combos and oki after that.

a lot of those ridiculous combos are techable

Not if your opponent launches you into the air. And the overall damage is high in VF5 not to mention that oki is really strong in that game too so it seems strange that VF players would be complaining about damage.

It’s the same in doa. Most of those combos dont start with launchers(which are generally unsafe, but guarantee damage on hit) though and many have moments where it’s techable(unguaranteed). Plus I thought we were talking about guaranteed and unguaranteed damage/combos. Which is why I brought up Teching.

That’s horseshit. VF players would NOT say that.

I think Dev was joking anyway.

Not really. From what I’ve heard, there’s solid evidence from Team NINJA to back this up.

Sorry. It was so absurd I thought it was a joke. I hope Japanese testers don’t fuck the game like they did with DOA4

Itagaki is more to blame than the testers. His last-minute changes in the final month of development lead to the game being stripped of many elements players found interesting with earlier builds, then after the online patch put out shortly after release, he considered DOA4 to be “the perfect fighting game”.

I, for one, am glad this guy in no longer head of development for DOA.

Speaking of Itagaki, why hasn’t he started trolling DOA5 or is he waiting for it’s release and what the hell happened to his game Devil’s Third??

Yeah, I really don’t miss Itagaki either.

I really wish they’d step it up with some gameplay vids though. It’s not so long till the game is released.
