Mr. Wah covers a lot of info during that time and tests out a lot of different things.

Some notable information include:

·Power Blow is H+P+K
·Wall Crumple is like in the Akira video where you get a guaranteed follow-up hit.
·Side Steps are 22H+P+K and 88H+P+K and you can do side step attacks during.
·The limbo stun is back!
·Izuna drop hold is still there for High, Mid and Low. It’s an “advanced” hold, i.e. the first input is 67 for High, 64 for Mid and 61 for Low. This also does not counter kicks at those levels.
·Offensive holds have been removed from the majority of the cast here. Hayabusa’s handstand throw still appears to be an offensive hold.
·Hit bubbles/effects can be turned off.
·The button config lets you select a function and then hit the button you would like to assign.
·You can choose between classic and action camera types which just vary the camera during throws.
·Hayabusa has gained an air throw: 41236H+P.
·Normal Life is now 270 points versus the previous 240. This is was considered the Large Life setting previously.
·Standard Throws have been back sped up to 5 initial frames.

If John Woo made a fighting game, I imagine it would look like DoA5. The visuals and sounds are crazy.

Since I don’t have a second person at the moment to test the holding out of certain stuns theory (natural combos), I can’t properly report that data. I can tell you that you can hold out of critical state in this - just don’t know if there are limitations at this time to when in a critical stun can you actually hold for what types.

Can’t wait for this game to come out. It looks like too much fun. I just hope they will have enough stages with enough shit happening in them. You can’t play the demo online, right?

Assuming we’re both free, maybe you can bring it to Xanadu this week. Perhaps we can do a bit more testing there, if you want.

Yeah I was planning on doing that. My Xbox isn’t HDMI though so if you have an old Gen Xbox with HDMI we can use on the Asus that would be great.

Unfortunately, I never had a Xbox, so that much is out. And I don’t remember if Xanadu had a few “spare Xboxes” in reserve or not…

Not enough explosions.

Actually, there are some explosions. Probably more in the other stages too.

I feel sorry for Ninja Gaiden players. They are turning their nose up at NG3 because of how misguided Team Ninja apparently is at a time when all of us seem to agree that Dead or Alive 5 could be the most playable installment yet. They all want Itagaki back…while we’re glad he’s out of the picture.

I deleted the archive of tonight’s stream because I wasn’t happy with the stream’s performance, I have to check on it in the future to make sure there’s no framerate hiccups.

There are two main issues I have with it right now. The first is that active frames on holds are still between 18-22 frames in this build, which is ridiculous. At the very least the active frames should be cut in half and given additional recovery. The second is that they can still be used in hit stun, which is equally ridiculous.

If you guys would, I would appreciate it if people took the time to fill out the box at the bottom of the page and show your disapproval of these two factors. We all know these are the largest roadblocks to DOA’s growth as a competitive fighter, and the more pressure team ninja gets the more likely you are to see real change.
