With all that crazy stuff happening in the background you’d think the music would be more epic.
The last game I played was DOA3 on the original Xbox, and before that DOA2 on Dreamcast. DOA has always been an interest of mine, although I do admit that I looked at Lei Fang’s Qipao more than once lol. The game looks interesting and I hope it’s a good one. Let’s hope for the best!
a new look at Hitomi versus Ayane.
I like the look so far, animations seem a little weird in spots when they hit each other but hey its still early:

Worth mentioning that particular video is an older build than the Akira trailer.
werent you guys complaining about a lack of boobage? there was plenty of bounce in this trailer

New footage shown off. I recommend taking a look at the Ayane vs Hitomi match. It looks like the Hitomi player knows what they’re doing, actually performing Free Step Dodges, pokes, and both forward and backward crouch dashing for spacing.

BG music is sweet and the environment ripping apart is really cool. I like lively stages.
I’m liking what I’m seeing – hell I have all the others kinda of a given I’ll lbuy it.
The Hitomi/Ayane battle looks so much more robust than the DoAs of old. That Hitomi juggle in the first round has a more deliberate feel to it than I’m used to seeing in this series (each hit looked like it was timed and well-placed).
Agreed
Cant wait for my Ninja Gaiden 3 so i can rock this demo.
I also like the way the fighters step and move around one another. Looks more strategic (movement feels purposeful in this game; older DoA games didn’t seem to place a lot of emphasis on side movement because of how easy it was to track a circling opponent).
New Ayane vs Hayabusa video/breakdown from Master:
Something really interesting happens in this one.
Ayane bumps her head?
…
Sorry, I just cut to the chase and watched the unedited version.
No…
Hayabusa threw her into moving overhead terrain, sending her slamming back to the ground. If I lean enough to the right from where I am sitting right now, my head will hit the wall…that’s bumping my head. However, if I was at a building site, and Ryu appears, grabs me and viciously throws me into scaffolding slamming me up then down…then I did more than bump my head.
Also, as Master said if you can get the sideways Izuna then it makes the whole scenario more interesting and pretty awesome.
I’m already super excited for this game.
I even went back to play a little DOA4.
Just watched the trailer with akira and it looks like the fixed the main issue with doa4, all of the random stuns. That and the counter window were to of my biggest gripes with doa4. Now all they need to do is fix the netcode.

Sorwah here has the demo and he’s testing stuff out as we speak.
Power Blow is H+P+K
Wall Crumple is like in the Akira video where you get a guaranteed follow-up hit.
Side Steps are 22H+P+K and 88H+P+K and you can do side step attacks during.
Limbo stun is back (where your opponent holds his or her back and falls over)
Izuna drop hold is still there for High, Mid and Low. It’s an “advanced” hold.
No offensive holds for the four playable characters!
Hit bubbles/effects can be turned off.
You can change your buttons by hitting which button you want to assign.
You can choose between classic and action camera types.
