Of course, it was high-level players that were invited to play MVC3 that told the devs that was stupid, correct? Yeah, we don’t have that with DOA apparently. Do we focus test with our most knowledgeable players? Nope! Have the least knowledgeable gaming press that can’t possible break down the game at all so we get vague impressions on the interwebs.
Hitomi Ko’d by coconuts, that is freaking hilarious.
I forgot all about the falling coconuts.
Gen is like "welp–time for C.P.R."
furthermore why does the name Gen always have to be related to some old dude, lol!
I see Temco not inviting top players to try out the early build as a way to avoid early negative press. Some the ideas they’re putting in like QTEs in a fighter doesn’t sound good at all. First impressions go a long way.
People here seriously expect this game to be anything remotely close to playable in EVO? This game sounds a lot like SSB with boobs.
Honestly, they said themselves it was just to try out the power blow feature. I imagine that all of the other tweaks that the HLP have been asking for haven’t been fully implemented, and they wanted to avoid the negative press from that.
Of course this isn’t the final game and everything isn’t implemented; the DOA players would understand that. It would just be a good idea to get a “How are you liking the changes we’ve implemented so far” and “Where should we take this?” It’s like taking your TV show pilot aimed at men in their 20s to an old folk’s home for input.
Not actually that farfetched for devs to do considering that’s EXACTLY why Sengoku Basara X was poo-poo.
Only it was female yaoi fanatics instead.
So I hear that the game will have 3.1 style sidesteps and blows that go through holds.

Is it wrong to buy a game merely for its exclusive demo contents.
I liked NG 1/Black and 2 but 3 — ehhhh.
And yet, still I intend to do so.
Madness, truly.
Still can’t believe they’re doing this. I mean, I thought that they were “paying attention to what the competition was doing”. If they truly had, maybe they would have at least put the demo on PSN/Live after the press run has had their fun…
Probably because 1) It increases sales of Ninja Gaiden, 2) They can release the demo a month or two after Ninja Gaiden’s sales have started to dip, and 3) The demo in the NG bundle may be a later build than the demo at the press event.
Here’s hoping the USA release is just a pre-order bonus so I don’t have to open up the new copy of NG3
Demo better have online lobby and training mode with two stages n im set. Doubt it tho
There’s also the off chance that the demo will be a later build than the one shown in San Francisco.
FreeStepDodge just received a personal reply from Yohei Shimbori (Director of Dead or Alive) to their Questions & Feedback sent over a few months ago before DOA5’s announcement.
Nice!
Also, maybe Bass won’t be shit in DOA5. Even better!
Too bad Bass’ voice actor died since 4, he was pretty boss.
Start stretching your hands, gentlemen
FFS damn japanese just can’t help themselves.
