Usually FG developers don’t trash others’ FG series. Even when they do criticize, they do it very politely.
So when you trash Tekken for example while your own series of games is a laughing stock, you tend to lose people’s respect.

So? Hideo Kojima doesn’t like Splinter Cell. And Splinter Cells are way better among the action genre than Tekken is among the fighting genre.

Let’s just be straight. The entirety of people who dislike Itagaki just hate DOA, probably without playing it and even if they have played it, not doing much beyond fiddling with things and spiking a controller after getting countered. The fact that DOA actually has a developer that is an actual person with thoughts and opinions, instead of an obscure idea of “some guy that created this”, just gives the Sugars and such something to point at and bitch.

Not to do a Emil, but why is it I have never seen or don’t recall a Japanese scene for DOA (any of them?). Maybe I just missed it but now that I think of it, I don’t remember one.

And that’s weird because the Japanese will hold tournaments for just about any legit Fighting game in existence.
