I agree, if we look at the Capcom vs SNK 2 sub-forum, we see how it just shows the game’s title, but once we click it, there’s 50 forum sub-sections for the entire character roster, along with the regular game’s general discussion. This approach too, is simply what I would find the best solution when DoA5 gets it’s own sub-forum here.
So first of all, what do we need to do? We’re now requesting it, what else is it that SRK wants? Do they want Moderators who’ll volunteer too?
Well who the fuck wants to be a online retard tamer…I know a few in real life for other types of forums , its a very unfulfilling duty with very little reward and your asked alot
Signed, under the condition that IF they do grant DOA 5 a sub-forum, all the people who have signed this will use it consistently.
That said, the FG “Community” doesn’t exclusively exist here on SRK. There are a plethora of other sites that are worthy of posting on.
So far, the community seems to be growing. New players are jumping on board, it’s only a matter of time before the game gets bigger. I’m confident that the game will get better, because I play the game and I feel that it’s solid enough to make it to the limelight.
Dead or Alive wasnt the most popular game in the tournament scene but No5 is ready to kick ass. The improvents are so many it feels like a new game. The factor that is ps3 and xbox makes thintgs even better, I believe alot of people would like to know and discuss more about this game.
Signed. I’ve heard next to no negative feedback from people that have played it, and people seem to be comparatively active on the boards regarding it.
I understand the concept of diversifying, but is it really necessary for SRK to have a subforum for every new game now, especially when those games have their own sites devoted to them? It’s like a KFC, next to a chinese restaurant, starting to sell chinese food; why the hell would you buy chinese food from KFC when there is a chinese restaurant next door?
SRK has a pretty big amount of people using it though, so it would help if I was able to get my 3S, UMVC3, AND DOA5 advice all from the same site without having to manage multiple accounts on 407 different sites. Really, why would it be such a bad thing? If Mortal Kombat, a section that nearly no one ever uses, get’s its own section why can’t the DOA community have a section for their game too?
I agree with this, but think DOA could be a Chinese restaurant. I have not played it, but it has highly positive reviews, there’s a good amount of forum activity on it, and there isn’t any trolling on it outside of people who probably haven’t played it. Other games on the forums already deserve it less.
I love SRK. I’ve been on this site for 12 year and I’m on it everyday at work, but the second I got at all serious about learning P4A I went straight to Dustloop for information.
If you’re getting your DOA info from SRK the minority of the people giving information will be people who main DOA it will mostly be from capcom game players who also play some DOA.
Take any existing character subforum on SRK and compare the info from the same character’s subforum on the site devoted to that game and you can see the difference for yourself.
Would anyone here go to Tekkenzaibatsu to learn how to play Sakura?
If you answered no, then why do you want to get your DOA info from SRK?
Edit: your Mortal Kombat statement is not a argument for why DOA should get a sub forum, its an argument for why it shouldn’t, and also why Mortal Kombat shouldn’t have. You’re asking people to use forums resources on a section that it is fairly easy to predict will go mostly unused.
…And why will it go unused? For the exact same reason as the Mortal Kombat sub forum, because the people who are really serious about learning are going to the already established website/forums for that game and not the sub forums on SRK.
