DC Comics Thread

Am i the only one that likes jimmy, his goal to being a superhero, reminds me of me getting respect in the Srk community

My friend, you have a vivid imagination.

Now the DC thread has gone down to three stars what the… the Marvel / DC rivalry is strong.

I’ll give’em both 5 stars and see what happens. :looney:

Okay DC is back to 4 lol! Swing swing swing…

I was done with Weeklies after 52.

it would seem most of the creators are pretty fuckin’ fed up with 'em as well.

can’t blame 'em. When nothing happens, nobody gives a shit.

frankly, with my favorite character cooling in the ground, my enthusiasm isn’t quite the same.

don’t mean I’m not still reading, only that I haven’t got as much excitement.

he can’t come back fast enough.

Picked up JLA #12 today.

Last issue of Brad Meltzer’s run. It was a good read. A good wrap-up that focused on mainly the lesser known characters in the league.

All in all, Meltzer’s run on JLA has been somewhat of a disapointment for me. I was expecting a lot more.

Looking forward to Dwayne Mcduffie’s take on the JLA. His next arc is entitled “Injustice Gang Unlimited”. How can you pass that up?

I’m picking up Teen Titans again starting at #50. I can’t wait to see what McKeever has in store for us.

and I kinda like the new lineup (though, I wish it was still the initial lineup, but when you’ve got kill happy editors, nobody but the mainstreamers is safe).

i would like to add to this statement that he should also be hung. lol, i really dislike jimmy olsen.

Hey Jimmy Olsen is great in All Star Superman. They are just making you hate him in Countdown so they can kill him off I bet you. Maybe that’s the ideal way to bump off characters with people not asking for them to come back to life? If The Question started eating newborn babies would anyone want him to come back? Eh they probably would and since DC they could retcon the baby eating stuff no prob…

Yeah, but crappy writing doesn’t make me want the character to die. Crappy writing just makes me want someone else to write the character.

Of course, I think it’d be pretty funny to read a comic about the Question eating babies. Especially if he kept his mask on while doin’ it.

Booster Gold!!!

Sudden Outburst…NightWING!!!

are we just shouting out random superhero names now?

because I have a million of 'em.

and they’re all obscure.

THE HONG KONG CAVALIER!

I hope they kill off mary marvel just finished reading countdown 37 and i hate her

i was referring to his new series. seriously. go pick it up. it’ll make you a better person for it.

EDIT: semi good news taichi. according to someone on newsarama that was at ww last week, didio let it slip that the legion took (oh you’re gonna love this) BART back with them to the future. i hope this is true

I’ve heard that a few times from different people.

I hope it’s true, I’ve been looking for an excuse to read Legion.

if they did, I hope it’s as Impulse.

booster gold was pretty good, probably the best book i’ve read this week.

Justice League movie in '08 HELL YEAH! it’s possible that Routh and Bale could be in it so long as the WB doesn’t mess things up…

It’s going to suck.

Holy putting-all-of-your-eggs-in-one-shitty-basket, Batman…

If X-Men should have taught us anything, it’s that superhero ensemble pics are very tricky to pull off. They usually end up functioning as a showcase for two or three characters, with everybody else languishing in the background. There are so many great DC characters who deserve a shot at their own franchises, but won’t get more than their minimum mandatory screen time if they all get thrown together into one flick.

If WB has such a hard-on for an ensemble film, why not do the oft-rumored Batman/Superman movie? I guarantee it would be both easier to do well, and would fare a lot better with an audience that doesn’t even know who the fuck Green Lantern is.

And if this in any way screws up Batman in '08 or Superman in '09, I shall be very angry.
