Screen does split for 2 player.
Edited first post to add a link to some versus footage. Check it out.
the fuckers finally did it then
wow
that looks like a lot of fun.
Could you post any more vids for us??
THIS one, I’m buying for sure. Even if they DO use the lame ass american voices. I love how the Taioken actually affects your opponent’s vision. This is what Budocrap should’ve been in the first place, not that slow combo, MUST have certain capsules or you can’t use a character’s entire moveset bs.
Updated controls and stuff. More to come (have only done square and tri so far).
All I want to know is…do all the characters play the same or not?
Cause if gameplay wise this game is just 50 versions of the same character, I’m not really interested.
General playstyle is the same. Where characters differ is in their guard breaks, attack chains, projectiles, and blast attacks. In addition, speed, defense, total health/ki etc, all make a difference.
Note: updated controls.
I have one question:
What is name of that song in the vid, and who is it by?
Do you still transform in mid-battle? Like how Goku can go Kaioken in a match?
The Song is Shocking Lemon - Inner Light (Hajime no Ippo theme).
No transformations mid-match.
thank you for the controls, me n friend took forever to beat some of the survivals
question: can u turn ssj during the fight or no
doesn’t sound like the controls are the same as the Budokai series, very similar but the directional attacks and flying ability and other features make the game different i think but i will still definately try this one out
I will keep my beloved Budokai 3, but this one may be a keeper too… i admit… the capsule limits suck, but that’s what breakthroughs are for (re-playability)
any straight matches you can post for viewing?
The game isn’t made by Dimps (the Budokai people). Unfortunately, Atari thinks it’s a good idea to confuse people and make them think its part of the same series by adding the Budokai title. It’s actually made by the people that made Firepro Wrestling (SPIKE).
no transformations, but some characters have power ups, where you break a stock or two and gain some speed/power bonus(im guessing), and some open a new attack, like for instance goku does have a kaioken power up and he gets a kaioken auto-combo attack.
and no, the fireballs are not even close to alike, pretty much everyone has signature fireballs, plus generic fireballs. for instance, you can charge up krillin’s regular fireball and throw a couple of those discs, and he also has a powerup fireball attack featuring them. pretty cool imo.
So you can actually have say…SSJ Goku fight SSJ3 Goku?
All of the characters listed in the first post can be played as solo characters.
hrm, interesting…dimps made the last 3 budokai games? i didnt know that. it seems like dimps is getting dumped as a developer left and right…(iirc, sammy dumped them as well, since the rumblefish games werent doing so well.)
anyway you should probably make a FAQ out of this and submit it to gamefaqs trag
I’m beginning to remember why I hate gamefaqs. There is no example worse than any of the DBZ forums. No matter what info you post, 5 mins later it ends up pushed back to the 10th page by kids arguing about who is the strongest. NICE!
Haha, too true. I remember hearing about how B3 was supposed to have actual depth as opposed to PPPPE for all eternity, but not being able to find any proof over there without wading through 89735934 threads of “OMG SSJ4 GWOKU IS TEH BEST!11” Oh well, it’ll always be a problem with these licensed anime games, I guess.
