Android 16 has super armor as well, which I found out to my complete surprise.
I typically play as Kuririn, Piccolo, Jeice, or SSJ 2 Vegita. Hellzone Grenade is one of my favorite moves in this game, it just looks so sweet.

And there also quite the easiest to beat if they are steered by a human. Constant Finishing Moves and gut stuns usually rid these characters in seconds. The fact that these characters take no dammage stun from hand-to-hand attacks is pointless because when you try to initiate a move a gut stun completely counters it. Therefore gut stuns are the complete counter attack for any of those characters.
Not to be mean or anything but if Perfect Cell was close range you’d get pegged in the face if you were to use Instant Transmission (takes to long to initiate). Otherwise, after-image is a great technique to use which makes Kid Goku one of top-tiers in that game since it only takes one Favorite Technique orb to use it. Other than that, I’d also suggest you get good at manually teleporting with the O-button, I can’t tell you how many times thats saved my can.
Got two questions for all you owners out there. One regards dragon smashes and the other regards the voice settings.
First in regards to the voice settings. So I set the voice setting to Jpn and save. Whenever I turn on the system though, it’s stuck in Eng despite the setting being in Jpn. Anyone have this weird problem?
Second, so I’m playing Cell Games in the World Tournament mode, and I notice that sometimes when I dash back, or to the left or right to avoid a dragon smash, the computer is somehow able to track me. Anyone know why this happens and also if you’re able to do this?
I used to think that I had the entire hand to hand combat thing figured out, but them sometimes it seems rather arbitrary if you’re dragon smash or gut punch is going to connect or not.
The Jpn/English voice thing is a glictch and everyone has that problem so don’t worry about it.
Regarding your dragon smash question; The computer is using it’s second string of combos dragon smash or the kicking combo dragon smash (for most characters). The thing is the computer is using the plain hold Square dragon smash which doesn’t have much of a lock on when used during the first chain of combos, but after a gut stun, a ki pushback or a green/orange dragon bar smash your second string of combos is initiated and the hold square dragon smash (with no directions held) has a greater lock on percentage. However, these can be easily blocked just by holding O. It’s pretty simple if you know its coming. If the computer cancels it you will still be in block so you will take no dammage, or if its doing a directional DSmash and you just realized it a split second before, a quick tap of the O button right before it hits you will teleport you out and save the day.
Son of a. . .I guess I should learn how to block better instead of dodging. BTW, is there a better way to ensure a gut stun?
^^ Observe your opponent carefully. If you start to see them sidestep frantically, which Perfect Cell loves to do ALOT to the back, throw a gut stun in. It’s good to throw them in ONCE in a while, but don’t spam them. Follow the computer because it likes to back up and shoot a Turtle Wave every now and then, so gut stun accordingly. It’s better if you learn how to get better with green/orange dragon smashes with a follow up dash attack though.
Thanks
Yeah, I started using more green and orange smashes playing my roommate. We try too much to do the fancy stuff so I trimmed down a bit. And I also started to play this game a little bit like Virtual On. Running around shooting different fireballs. I figure if Chiatzu can be a bitch like that then why can’t I?
Well, the non-fancy stuff leads up to the fancy stuff so just work on it!
Curious to know if there has been any great discoveries that may lead to some really top tier things (such as infinites etc…) I don’t have the game or the system to play it on but I have a friend who has it…so i’ll learn things from here and beast him when i play it…
Kid Goku-Top Tier
Infinite After Images (well, by the time you use one there’s a nother in stock).
SS4 Gogeta- Top Tier
Strongest character in the game.
I’ll probably make a tier list soon and see how you guys feel about it.
The game is actually a pretty well balanced game except for some broken characters like Kid Goku. My friend at school who is terrible at the game can come close to beating me just by spamming after images and finishing moves. :lame:
Oh snap! Kid Goku! I totally forgot about him. The After Image was used pretty often by him in the original Dragon Ball. And he only needs one fav tech orb to use it? Oh man. Does that really make him broken?
Also, what about fighters like Kid Buu that have super fast combos? Vegeta has fast combos but not as fast as Kid Buu.
It helps but its pretty much all balanced. Characters with Power to the Very Limit are also high-mid tiers too.
My fave chara is Master Roshi…he does this kung-fu shit, and it’s really dope. It’s awesome to watch him do “The Original Kamehameha” Broly, Burter, and Chiaotsu are also extremely awesome.
I don’t know if this only works for more powerful fighters or not but the CPU is a beast at doing multiple teleport dodges. I saw Broly do four in a row dodging one of Super Buu’s attacks. Does anyone know how to continuously teleport like that?
Just keep teleporting…
How do you just teleport???
I’m still a button mashing fiend…Through button mashing I found out that after you stun them press Square a few more times and then press either left or right and Circle…and you teleport behind them or possibly to the side.
Something else I found out was if you press circle just b4 someone hits you…you grab them…alll this was probably discovered already but its I guess this is for those who don’t.
I also learned that Broly, Super Trunks, and Bojack are the cheapest characters EVER!!!:bluu: :nunchuck:
Does anybody have any strategies for playing androids?
As or against?
As.
