Been wondering the same thing. 
My supplier is still looking for the Japanese 3S old board. I had received an update stating they cannot find it, but are still looking as of last friday - so, sorry to dissappoint, but I think itâs safe to say that unblockables are only gonna work on PS2.
Other than that, everything is going ahead as scheduled. Olli and I are installing all new Sanwa JLFs and Sanwa buttons as of tomorrow on the Versus City cabs so they will be in tip-top shape for all of you to enjoy!
If anyone can get a hold of an old version Japanese 3S board and bring it, we can definetly use it - and I will definetly purchase it as well if one would want to part with it, garaunteed.
what are all the changes from ver.a to ver.b (other than no unblockables)?

Ken Vs. Makoto neutral throw bug has been fixed and doesnât reset the game.
Unblockables are no longer unblockable.
Thereâs rumor of some very minor musical changes as well⌠(rumor, as in unconfirmed)
I think it fixed Goukiâs f+mp being unthrowable

1 week fellas! Looking forward to seeing the WI crew again and meeting the IA and MN guys aswell (although, I mightâve met some of you guys already).
Haha, no - I didnât just buy these for the tournament. I started these as a personal project last summer. I guess itâs just a bonus for all the people I play with that I have versus cabs.
As for team IA - no one should be automatically accepted onto the team (except for Murphy, thereâs always an exception to the rule). Weâll have time to see who the best in IA is come tournament day - then weâll decide. If there are any hard decisions, then weâll have a showdown or something between respective players. Sounds fair, right?
Thatâs what WI is doing, and I think all states should do.
(1.) See who actually shows up to the tourney.
(2.) Use 3S singles tourney as a strong indicator of who should be on the roster.
(3.) If thereâs any dispute/ties/hard feelings, settle it with a ft5 duel.
Thatâs fair, fast, and doesnât hurt anybodyâs ego.
