As for bets…more so to light that fire of determination under people who typically do quit…then pick up…then quit again…
Quan-…Giving up on GGAC when his main Faust actually got better with the iteration…Also planning on playing Bang or Litchi…two chars who will have crazy flow charts of combos…though playing Mahvel he should be good with that…
Ross- If Arakune didn’t have easy combo’s/execution from what he can do I could see hitting a wall then getting pissed sooner rather then later. Won’t have to fight as hard to start, will be fun. Then people will catch up, and it won’t be as fun.
Adam - has only tasted maybe five flavors of the stupid junk capable in GG. If he goes hard…and he plans on playing Carl who is probably the hardest character to play as…but that difficultly in playstyle DOESN’T ever translate with the videos you watch on the character. It’s like watching a great Sim player, then trying to do that stuff…and realizing it’s a lot harder then it looks.
And I feel I can speak from experience, because a year ago all three of you dudes were either as good or better then me in GG…but none of you was willing to really play it with me…or use the resources available to get better at the game that were available (Fred and Matt). I don’t know how many times I chilled with Fred getting beat down in GG over and over again…but uh…that’s kinda how you get better in any game.
So…those are my bets. Prove me wrong though, cause I win either way.
But do you really PLAY gg? Really? If I can potentially still beat you with my tired ass Potemkin/Slayer/Ky/May/Venom skills I would say you don’t play it. The last time you played me at my apartment was literally the last time I played it, so hopefully you could beat me. TBH, I prefer GGs gameplay to BBs, but I won’t split hairs on the matter. I’ll play BB.
The reason I stop playing is simply lack of interest and I don’t like those changes. I don’t take every single fighting game seriously. I like to experiment with them. I have to actually have fun play a game to take it seriously.
Yeah I still like Carl, but he does strike me as “harder than it looks.” But it’s also only 4 buttons, so we’ll see. I’ve been looking into nu-13 and Arakune as well though, so maybe Carl can be a project. I really have no reason not to play this game, I hear the online for it is really good, which usually makes me stick with something.
As for KOF, nah, it looks cool, but I won’t be buying a copy. If you guys bring it to a gathering yeah I’ll play, but that’s about it.
I’ve been meaning to play you again JQ. I got a lot better just that night which was…what January/Febuary? Played a ton of casuals with the Kentucky peeps at ThemvsUs, And I’ve been going down to the Illuminati junk and getting wasted by Mac on a semi regular basis. I understand what’s going on and what I need to do and go for ALOT better then the last time we played…so with all that work and experience against people a ton better then me, I should PROBABLY be able to at least break 50/50 with you, but Pot is always weird with ABA.
All I know is I’ll be mooching off of peeps to play this game till I get a ps3, so per usual I’ll be playing behind the curve…but I’m getting used to that.
Matt i need to get those games runnin in my computer or something so I can play you in MotW or whatever. That was some fun stuff last time. TUXEDO KING!!!
I’ve watched a bit of it now that it’s on demand on Ufrag. Pretty cool so far. I wish there were more motion graphics like in the trailer though. I love me some motion graphics.
