Dayton, Ohio. Where no one has ever heard of you

lol on that note… heres something I did for nick…

(NICK do not try to use this as your stick art , I will send you the full size version to your email )

Adam, you did your best. Did you get any of the West Coast players to play with you in exchange for booze?

And did you kidnap Tim Armstrong for me?

maybe I’ll go to EVO next year, I’ll be lucky to go to SB4 this year…

GGs to Pope Temmy. Keep working on your Sakura and she’ll be getting some wins very soon.

Hope to play you again tomorrow evening if I find the time to be online.

What dude is gonna want to drink a sprite after watching this? What audience were they trying to target? lol

Oh yeah, I should be free. I think I gotta take the cat to the vet after work, but other than that I’m free all night! I got tomorrow OFF!

Could someone tell me why you people can’t pick the same character in team tournaments? Doesn’t make sense to me…

In 3rd Strike if you could pick the same character you’d see teams of Chun/Chun Ken/Ken Yun/Yun or probably most stupidly dangerous Makoto/Makoto.

The point of team tournaments is to make it more entertaining, create a wider variety of characters and to artificially shrink the tier list. If a character has a 2-8 matchup (which no current gen fighter is this bad, which is really awesome) it’s not going to be used in singles. However, since it’s considered a bad matchup, a lot of people won’t know about that character…and in turn that matchup would rise to maybe a 3-7 or a 4-6. Now since the matchup has artificially been made better…there’s only one potential match you have to win, instead of a set. And since there’s 4 out of ten chances to win…you can never be sure if that character will land on that 40% square and pull off the upset, thus setting up something potentially epic.

TLDR… Just makes tournaments more interesting. Would suck if GG teams had Eddie/Eddie/Testament or Slayer/Slayer/Potemkin. Variety is good for fighters, keeps people playing them if they think their character is actually worth anything. Not letting duplicate characters just creates a better dynamic. It’s the same principle in Marvel anyway though right? I mean, wouldn’t Yipes prefer to have Two Mags and a Psylocke? Or Sanford having 2 Sents and Capcom? Or how bout just having 3 Storms?

Yeah, I started thinking after I posted and came up with a similar conclusion.

Nu is like +11.5 on the matchup chart, a team of two Nus would be compounded upward and so on depending on the team size.

The characters with more bad matchups would become less usable as the team size increases.

Oh well…

I hope AL does teams someday.

Me too. I have no consistency whatsoever when I play, so I’m thinking I’d do better in a team setting then just in a regular singles setting…

I will do teams for the next big tournament. Not sure when yet but it will happen

Teams definitely make things more entertaining. Hell grand finals at EVO was Chun/Yun vs. Yang/Urien, not something you’d normally expect. Other teams included Ryu/Akuma Chun/Ryu and Akuma/Alex to name a few. I think that’s why SBO is so crazy every year, because of character variety and all of the upsets that occur because of this.

Any get-togethers any time soon?

Teams tourneys would be so cool. I’d love SFIV two on two, just like SBO.

I’ll be at AL this Saturday for the BB/GG ranbats and 3S/Marvel after tourneys. Lee and Amanda are joining me, along with another friend. Not sure what anyone else is up to that day or beforehand.

Kam: I came upon this awesome song that would be choice (British Slang for good) for the mix-tape. Check it out…

I particular dig this verse

“Keep it chilled and relaxed but we still sound phat
It’s like that, when we write raps
We’re not from the empire but we still strike back”

Let me know what you think.

pP

Whos all going to AL this weekend for the ranbats? Cause I gotta get my point score moving : ]

Wish I could, gotta hit the ol’ working trail saturday, but I was gonna try and come up there afterward for some casuals if anyone was still around after 9.

See you there Quentin

I’ll be there til closing.

Hmm, ranbats…

Hey Josh, nice cameo on the EVO stream. You did a pretty good job at the mic too. Did someone call you over, or did you just walk up and take a seat?

Either way, it was both entertaining and better commentary then I saw at some other points in the day.
