Dayton, Ohio. Where no one has ever heard of you

GGs earlier Fred. I am bad, despite your encouragement. I did manage to catch you with the overhead mixup quite a few times (thanks to Matt for teaching me it), and almost land the entire air combo afterwards a couple times (it’s a LOT of damage). I still haven’t quite figured out how to consistently land an air combo after the 6C…sometimes I SJC and sometimes I DC after the second hit, then neutral jump, but I’ve had success and failure with both. Spacing, I guess. I want to land C, D, JC, C, D xx D dragon punch, qcf C, qcb C after the 6C, and sometimes it’s not possible to land the second C, D–have to just use D xx Dragon punch. Either way, ggs.

For sure just add me. Today I took the day off but I should be online tomorrow afternoon.

Jordyn, you were worrying too much about just getting specific combos, but I was trying to get you to think more about getting the opportunity for them in the first place. You really just gotta get in there and start doing moves, and have a game plan to stay in there when they block while maintaining frame advantage, and a game plan for when you hit that maximizes damage. Obviously the overhead is just one ingredient to the overhead/low/throw soup better known as mixup. Now just learn good combos from throws and lows and you’ll be in a good place.

Quentin… yeah. It sucks that we lost, but honestly I just have some work to do. I need to learn not to expect my j2c+wind to hit every time, because that v was actually blocking it. I also need to pay more attention to bars, because I really wasn’t expecting to break her guard. I also just need to play more v players, because that guy was probably the best one I’d played so far, and if she’s the character to beat in this game, we just need to learn to beat her.

As for you, you just need to learn a combo from every hit. Really, you should start from the moves you’re more likely to hit, so I’m sorry to say that there’s no excuse for not doing that combo from the dive move, since that move hits SO often. It just makes sense to be like “I’m landing this move all the time. I wonder what I can do from it?” Other than that, you bursted smart after I called you on that, so good job. Just remember that barrier will help you out of a lot of situations, so if you’re bursting early, that’s a long time to go without it.

Actually, it’s probably wise for anyone to learn a guard break string if someone has used their burst, since they can’t use barrier and any blocked hit is guaranteed to move the guard libra.

Jason, that was 5 pages ago. You’re always living in the past.

Hey Dayton! Want practice in BB against people you don’t normally get to play? Can we say cross town challenge? I’ll be setting that up.

hello dayton

Hey Keits. Long time no see. Well, since MWC.

Well, honestly, I think that’s his best mixup in terms of damage, but its practicality is somewhat limited.

Also, yeah, I need to find the right time and place for combos in BB. It’s really weird.

Also, I need to find good strings with Ragna that don’t push him too far out. Sure, I can 214A when I get too far out, but it puts me at frame disadvantage if it doesn’t connect.

Keits and his horribly dubbed super sentai DVD’s… That shit was too funny

Josh that sounds like an awesome idea.

Columbus junkie reporting for duty.

explain.

6A, 9, C D, 9, C D, 623D, 236C, 214C is proving a lot more useful than I thought it would. Dash in, FD, 6A, win.

Hey, what’s the matter…

Thanks for the games kam/adam. Hopefully we can get one more session before evo.

Same here. You guys aren’t gonna throw me though. lol

…oh and…hold on to my headphones. I left them at your place on your couch. Are you going to AL this weekend? If we go, you could bring them back to me if you can.

Chris Rose and I BBed for like 5 hours last night and there was only 1 Jin played. Lots of Bang, Tager, Litchi, Noel and Ragna though. God bless this games awful juggle mechanics. Counter hit? Fifty percent? Also, whoever said Bang has a lot of HP is insane. Guy takes damage like a little girl.

So I’ve missed a few pages:

Quentin, never say you’re the worst matchup against V-13. Tager has no air dash or regular dash, so he can’t punish if she whiffs a sword. I literally can do nothing against a good V-13, NOTHING.

Edit: Although I will admit, if a V-13 doesn’t use her billion-hit C attacks against Tager, I will gladly hammer through those swords and rape you. Video will be posted later <3 Nothing starts off a morning than raping a V-13 who thinks swords is all she needs.

But I will take an avatar <3 Preferably Tager colored like a Snorlax with “Tagerlax?” on it ;DD

Oh, and the best thing about Tager, invincible frames during backdash? <33333333

Whoever said Bang had a lot of health looked at the data.

from zetaboards guide:
Characters total health point and its ratio varies. Health point ratio is important because it has effect on Heat Gauge that regenerates when the character is below 20% health bar. For example, Ragna’s health total is 10000. When he has 20% health left, he has 3000 point instead of 2000. Therefore characters have a greater health point ratio in the latter portion have a better chance to make a comeback. However, the game is decided on percentage of the remaining health bar instead of the total health point when time is up. That is the drawback of having a dense stamina towards the latter portion.

Here is the data:

Character Total Health Point Health Point Ratio
Ragna 10000 - 7000(80%):3000(20%)
Jin 11500 - 5750(50%):5750(50%)
Noel 11000 - 5500(50%):5500(50%)
Tager 13000 - 9100(80%):3900(20%)
Taokaka 10500 - 5250(50%):5250(50%)
Rachel 11000 - 5500(50%):5500(50%)
Arakune 10500 - 7350(80%):3150(20%)
Bang 11500 - 7475(75%):4025(25%)
Litchi 11000 - 7700(80%):3300(20%)
Carl 9500 - 6650(80%):2850(20%)
Hakumen - 12000 8400(80%):3600(20%)
? - 13 10000 - 6400(80%):3600(20%)

See, Bang’s actually got a lot of HP tucked under that last 25% of the bar.

Welcome to playing GuiltyGear’s Potemkin, only a little different.

Anyways good games to Matt and whoever Zach is, he is undoubtedly the best person I’ve played BB against to date. After the butt-whooping I received from the two of you I went and played a few ranked matches to reassure myself that you’re just good and I’m not terrible haha.

Zach isn’t on here. Do you remember that really fat Millia player at WSU? I don’t know if he was there when you went, but if you saw him, you’d probably remember. Anyway, that’s the Zach we were playing last night.

Yeah throw noel people beat me to it. Also Bang has fantastic mixup. Fuck yeah.
