Dayton, Ohio: Where fun goes to die

Dayton peeps, nice seeing you all again. I am in need of some help with getting a large television in my home. I will pay $10 per person to help me out. I need it done today or tomorrow at the latest.

Thanks.
Frank

Here’s the link. They were on Team Daigo.

Man… after I get my health shit settled up it’s time to get real serious about this training business.

For those of you who didn’t catch my little speech at Cane’s yesterday morning, Thanks to everyone who came out, you all helped to make this literally the best weekend I’ve had all year, bar none. I’m glad as hell that I’ve made so many new friends since coming into the community and I’m happy you all can put up with me and still want to help me level my game up. Good shit to you all.

I’ve got love for you, Dayton, all the drama aside.

YES. HOMO.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaytooooooooooooon! It was nice meeting you guys.

dont recall meeting you unless you met me and I didnt know it XD

Snake is one of Cbus’ BEST 3S players, right up there with chickenfat
He plays Alex too Arkayne :wgrin:

I talked to you (briefly) on Saturday. I was the Bang player at the Aracde Legends BlazBlue ranbat. On Saturday I played with some Dayton players in that small ass karoake room. Played some casuals with Actionhank and Murderbydeath, too.

Funny There was a group of Dayton players also playing outside of the Karaoke rooms too

Fun BB casuals getting hidden out of sight. Good games all around.

This weekend was fun.

Ross: congratulations on your win against that other Abel player. I forget his name. He must no longer be important

I hope everyone did well! It was fun rooting for you guys.

It was awesome to meet daigo and see so many familiar faces.

Yeah man GG’s. I played you for a minute, I was the dude playing Dudley and Elena.

As for “shout out” shout outs…I am tired and exhausted today. You know who you are anyway. I guess. Or something.

Good job everybody. You like that reverse psychology I put on all of you? Set the bar LOOOWWWWW so you can only go up from there.

Anyway, I’m probably gonna be more low key with stuff now, as I always am right after seasons. I feel like playing rpgs and crap. But good job again, and lets keep getting better.

@Temmy
I’m glad “The soul still burns” within you. It’s the true sign of being a real fighting gamer.

All you need to work on is patience and defense. You level those up and you’ll find yourself in many more matches. You can always practice combos by yourself, but you need to play more matches with a lot of different people to understand how to play patient and learn how to block.

That and play lots of different games because defense and patience are the only sure thing that carries over from game to game.

SB4 was insane fun. I learned more about the game than in all my online experience combined. I HAVE to get to Evo now next year (though I won’t be able to drink and everyone else I know WILL ). See you all at Take up the Gauntlet.

Good shit on that OCV Dijon.

I could post shout-outs but honestly this weekend was a blur for me. Thanks for the :smokin: on Friday night Nick, always appreciated. I didn’t hear much about everyone’s experience but I saw some of you doing well. Hopefully we all learned something and took things away. Looking back (on youtube) on some of the SF4 matches I can see how awful some of my spacing and links are. Also it is incredibly apparent how polarized Rufus is, so I’ll have to work on Rog/Bison for some more help (especially in the Gief department).

Also big props go to Mario this time around. He’s really on another level in 3s at this point and his rounds with Issei and Daigo were damn good. It’s a shame Indiana is a 2 hour drive otherwise I’d play him every day so I could learn something. Justin you are too lucky. And finally, Jordyn did pretty damn good in HDR. I know nobody really followed it, but some of you appreciate it, and he had an insanely close set against Eduardo Perez.

As you’ve heard me say, I’m going on a break. That doesn’t mean I won’t play casually with anyone, and because I like hanging with Cinci so much I’ll probably show up at the arcade when they go. I just need time to slow things down, catch up on some games I haven’t touched in awhile, and get a job . If anyone wants to play the new COD on Xbox when it drops talk to me, I’ll be all over it for awhile. I’m also getting Tekken 6, lets hope the online doesn’t blow. Regardless I want to concentrate on something else for awhile and hopefully come back reinvigorated. Only having a few more months of school left is a nice thing as well, and then I’m planning on moving closer to Cinci for work and leisure if things work out.

I hope everyone had a great time, MoMo’s is the best venue ever.

Adam you pick up games quicker than I do. Next time we meet I might be playing catch up. Thanks for the props though.

Hey Amanda, thanks for getting that pic with me and Daigo. I was trying to waive over anyone I knew to take a pic or some vids of me playing him. You came to the rescue. I’ve been watching these guys play in ranbats over in Japan since 2005 so I was practically jumping out of my seat when I got to play him.

Issei was really polite too. Haha he taunted me though in the last round. Must have gotten under his skin, I don’t think he liked dropping rounds to a much lesser name. Daigo I could tell was better though skill wise but there was too much ring rust for it to really show. He’s like Dudley IRL but looks like Remy.

Mario: don’t worry about it! Just drop me your phone number and I’ll send you the pic in a mms text.

Plus! I forgot to mention: someone tried to break into my car on Sunday night while everyone was sleeping. :frowning:

There’s a big horizontal slash on the roof and the frame where the windows meet on the drivers side is bent in two places where they tried to pry the door open.

The weird thing is that the windows didn’t break. You would think the windows would be weaker than the frame.

Pretty much, they wasted their time because I didn’t have anything worth stealing in the car (unless they wanted the car) except a CD player that quit working a year ago and a GPS that takes a year and a day to get your global position and give you a route to point B. If they want the GPS they can have the stupid mf-er.

All they managed to do is create a huge inconvenience for me. I have to sew the canvas together and that’s going to take me a few hours >:O

Amateur car thieves. How droll.

Yeah, it was good to see you all in high spirits this weekend. Hope you all had fun.

Thinking of heading down for some Tekken tonight.

And yes, I am up at 7am, or should I say, still up.

I reallllllly need some help with moving a TV so if someone needs some extra cash please get at me today. Thanks.

Yeah, and it sucks that you had to deal with those pause issues. The fight against the Zangief was a close one. I still swear it was a pad player’s fault. I got affected by that too, but it was when I was already losing in singles to a seth player so it didn’t matter much, but I didn’t need something else to break my concentration.

SB4 was awesome, but depressing in a way to show how much more work I have to do to get better. Despite that and generally playing poorly all weekend, I had a great time and i’m happy that i did not go 0-2 in singles. I don’t know what it was, I didn’t feel nervous, it might’ve been the TVs (only play on LCDs so maybe that has something to do with it? I felt this way at the gameworks on the sf4 cab as well) but I definitely wasn’t playing like I usually do.

I almost signed up for NEC when I got back, but I don’t have anyone to go with yet and it’s on such short notice that I don’t think i’ll be able to go. Does anyone have any interest in this? Ugh, It’s also an 8 hour drive from cincy. :crybaby:

Amanda, about the roof, that really, really sucks. I didn’t really see it when I was leaving (I couldn’t sleep so I dipped out at around 5) and i’m glad that nothing was stolen. That’s so shitty though. I bet it was people staying at the hotel for SB4.

I’ll probably end up posting more walls of text later but i’m at work and it’s busy as fuck as the usual.

I will be hosting Tekken6 BR weeklies at my apartment in Columbus. I was trying to decide on a day, but I want to be mindful of tekken sessions at GW Cincy. Ideally, I was thinking Thursday is perfect. That means the first session would be Thursday, Oct. 29…

This would mean casuals at my place once a week from around 6PM until 11PM or possibly later. I have one setup, so someone could bring another setup if they would like. I also have another tiny tv/vcr combo with a/v plugs on the front.

It is my intention to grow the scene here in Columbus and Ohio in general. Anyone willing to come out is welcome as long as they respect house rules. I don’t wan an animal house. That means everyone comes with gaming on their minds, humble pie in their mouths, and no strange smells. Oh, and check your shoes at the door

I look forward to seeing everyone in the central Ohio area at my place very soon.

PM me if you need my address and phone number. Always be sure to call ahead of time or check the boards in case our tekken session is cancelled or moved to another day.

A singles double elim tournament will also be held at my place on a day of the month TBD. I think Columbus is ideal for an Ohio monthly, because it sits directly between Cleveland and KY/Cincy.

What are your thoughts? I will repost this in the other Ohio threads.
