BTW Quan, nice vid lol
Ya that shit was too good! Yo you still going to nky tomorrow?
Yea, Im probably going tonight. So long as work allows…
if you probably go tonight, i’ll probably go with you. i’ll remember my card this time.
Just for the sake of doing it so I can play ya’ll sometime, I need some help setting this GGPO up. I did some of the stuff the site tells you. I downloaded the adobe deal and the GGPO itself. I had to do some configuration with my router and stuff but I can’t tell if it’s all right or whatever. I made a “roms” folder and put it in the GGPO folder. I downloaded a Third strike rom but I don’t think it’s good.
That’s all I did so far. I guess I need help with just about everything else. PM me (Adam or anyone else that knows about all of this) and help a broth out. Lol.
Hey Adam, you said your T5 was broke, right? You know whats wrong with it?
I can render some assistance if you need something fixed, at no cost to you. My free time is basically free, as the name would imply lol.
Darius, are we still on for some CvS2 tommorow?! If so i can come over and set up 2df or GGPO for you no problem
Hell yeah man! I don’t have school or anything so just hit me up whenever. I’ll make sure to answer the random select number too.
Congrats to Kam for placing 4th in Naptown in BR!
Good stuff man.
pP
That a way Kam!
The cord is frayed, and that’s it, if you can figure out how to fix that I’m good.
Ah, cool then. I always get kinda excited to see the insides of sticks, lol.
I might be down for a bit of 3s later, got some people over right now.
Also, who all is going to Arcade Legends this Sunday?
Found dat SHIT
Haha, thanks? It was a 6 man tournament…
Would’ve been 7 if Derrick got to play. WELP
Alright, since SB4 will be your first or only major you go to this year (mostly speaking to the new recruits here) I’d like to see Dayton (and Cinci, it’s not like we don’t play eachother every weekend) make a respectable showing. This is all going under the assumption that the tournaments we’ve been attending weren’t solely for fun but to level up as well. When I first started playing a year ago, we had decent training sessions once a week at Josiah’s and at points we’d have 6-7 people taking 3s seriously. I was hilariously scrubby when I first started playing over there, I mean jumping like an idiot and getting parried all day scrubby. However in about 4-5 months I managed to improve to do okay at SB. Offline play sessions give you lots of experience, even if it is with the same people. Now things have changed and many of us play different games, BUT, I do notice an overall appeal towards SFIV and BB. So where am I going with this?
I’d like to keep track of our collective progression in SF4 (and if someone would do the same for BB that’d be great, I personally don’t care :arazz:) Not just tourney results but also the small things. Bad habits, general improvements, ideas, execution all that good stuff. A big thing I’ve noticed recently is that we never really discuss these games as much as we used to. Now with the new players I understand it’s tough to grasp certain ideas and concepts because well…you’re new. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have things to contribute.
Basically I’ll keep a notepad document or something to that extent of each player, highlighting the good and the bad and I’ll just PM you back what you need to work on (I want this done for myself as well). This is a GROUP thing though, everyone is going to have an opinion on what’s good and what’s bad, that’s where discussion comes in. A lot of you already know what you need to work on, but don’t necessarily know the best way to tackle it, hopefully people can provide advice on how. Often times it just comes down to practice, I mean really how much time do you spend in training mode? How much do you spend in actual matches? If you can’t land combos and set-ups that are intergral to your character the answer is probably not enough. I realize we all have lives (me not so much) but I’m sure all of you can commit 1-2 hours a day, even if it’s just training mode.
Finally don’t be afraid to ASK QUESTIONS! (this is sounding like a syllabus for one of my classes now). We might not know the answer but that’s good, that means it’ll spark one of us to find out and share. When 3s was popular, we’d share character information and ideas all the time, even though we had limited exposure to the cast, knowing a character’s in’s and out’s and the mindset that goes with them is extremely important.
I’ll share my thoughts on Rufus and give you all better ideas how to beat him in a bit. I’m just curious how many of you are on board to this whole idea. I’m not doing this to be an arrogant dick by any means, I just want us all to do better.
TL;DR: Step that game up.
