#datmarvel: Lupinko put out a new hint

I didn’t even know .EXE had that many games. Even with such a history if Mega Man gets add period, it would be classic. I have no idea why but I just get that feeling. Also DefaultCamera what is EMH?

EMH is Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, a currently-running Avengers cartoon that uses Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk as the big four and Ant-Man, Wasp, Black Panther, and Hawkeye as supporting cast, if you go by opening credits/theme roll billing (though the gulf between them in screentime and relevance is pretty small; Ant-Man almost seems more reliably relevant than Hulk).

It is probably the best thing that has run on American TV in a half-hour slot in recent memory, and season 2 is going to have Nova and Rocket Raccoon, which is probably why they’re in. (They also use a more Ultimates-y Nick Fury, which is probably part of why MVC3’s Viper ending uses that and not 616 despite most Marvel cast either being 616 or older TV animation. The other part: 2012 film.)

I’m not saying it’s high art, but it’s a damn well-written show for being an animated superhero show, and probably goes on the same pile that 90s X-Men and Batman:TAS do.

Daredevil

Objection

Dammit

We need Murdoch, Walters, and Wright as a team

Or maybe law and order with daredevil, chun, and she hulk

Again. Last month not a single avengers comic made top 5 most sold marvel comics. While 2 xmen comics did. (Fear itself with x-force and xmen-schism #1) While captain america did come in at number 2 it had nothing to do with the avengers. And the cosmic stuff might be getting pushed by marvel but the fans arent buying it as any cosmic comic is even further down the charts. So until nova and RR get put on EMH I doubt their comic sales will be anything noteworthy.

does anyone remember when marvel nemesis rise of the imperfects came out? and we could actually play as dare devil? my briefs dropped so hard it shot a hole straight to china. we want DAREDEVIL

But don’t comic fans already know about all of the characters? I thought the way Marvel was approaching the game was to put in characters that aren’t as well known to people who don’t read the comics, so that they gain interest in the characters. Do comic sales really have anything to do with character selection? And there’s still the whole movie and tv show thing, which is a pretty big deal. Comic fans are going to buy comics no matter what. People might go see the Doc Strange movie who didn’t really know about him before if they play as him in a fighting game, same goes for the Avengers.

Begone, logic.

Umm. X-Men weren’t in the top five.

The top five selling comics according to IGN were ASM, Cap, Fear Itself #4, Flashpoint and Green Lantern. And if we remove the DC, Avengers and Daredevil would of taken the top spots.

As well as on newsarama via this link. You are wrong. Quit spreading false info trying to just your cause.

I think Marvel wants certain characters to be in the ethos, as in, all of these roles-the books, the games and the movies are [to them] commercial bits that add to a whole. Some marketing dude is collecting all of this chatter and making charts as to how putting certain characters in the limelight can affect comics and movie tickets.

As for the Avengers, I always thought it was about super-powered misfits working to get along, and stay a team, for the greater good.

As for this never-ending argument as to which teams should be in the game, wouldn’t the best middleground be this:

  1. DLC Nostalgia Pack that nods its hat to the fans of MvsC2 that carried the torch for the game, and deserve some recognition and thanks. This pack would feature 10 characters from the last game, with 90’s and modern costumes.

  2. DLC SF Pack with 10 Street Fighter/Final Fight/SF3/SSF4AE characters

  3. DLC Hardcore Pack with the last 10 characters from current comic book and Capcom game trends, no matter how obscure

That would put us at 80, break the record for Fighting Game rosters, give people Mega Man, give people Daredevil, " " Charlie, " " Roll, " " Sigma, " " Gambit, " " Someone from Breath of Fire, " " Spiderman Villain, " " Black Panther, " " Nightcrawler, " " Cyclops, and give me back my Juggernaut and Venom

I dunno, you guys say who exactly, but tell Capcom by buying Ultimate and making requests like this.

did I read the last post on this thread right? Are you suggesting 80characters on this game?

Do people who play this game at tournaments, ACTUALLY WANT THIS?
Because it’s not rare to get blown up by a super obscure character at tournaments, I would not like this at all.

80 characters… wth?

80 characters? This ain’t DBZ man.

For those who haven’t seen, Nemesis/Strange trailers are up. Strange has a special intro vs. certain females, I think.

I think the dlc packs is a cool idea, but I think you have to think a little smaller in scale. Something like: estranged family pack with Gamora, Thanos, Cammy and Dictator; ninja pack with Guy, Ibuki, Electra and Psylocke; girls John Woo would like pack with Lady, Black Widow, Domino and Linn Kurosawa; X fan troll pack with Sigma, Bass, Roll and a new costume for Zero. Stuff like that.

Edit: and get Marvel to bug Hasbro to let them put in a Decepticon and Autobot pack. Soundwave will be the real new Captain Commando!

If they ever come out with DLC, it’ll be the 8 characters allegedly left on the cutting floor.

Let’s start the salt flow for Strange and Nemesis right now. Since Nemesis is akin to Hulk, and Strange is Akin to… Strange.

In all seriousness I agree that would be the most likely scenario. However the Doc Oc folder on the MVC3 disc, and what Svensson said when specifically asked about him, makes it seem like at least Marvel has a tendency to change their minds.

I had never heard of RR and had never read an iron fist or hawkeye comic. Since the character announcements I have read a good chunk of Guardians and all of immortal iron fist through powerman and iron fist. I even looked at the new hawkeye series. I am now hooked on all of these stories and will continue to read them as they come out(more Iron Fist please!). So although the character choices did not make sense at first they have forced me to look at the stories and fall in love and I am pretty sure that is what Marvel wanted in the first place. So I understand why people are upset by these decisions but give the books a read first, it will likely change most of your songs.

PS- I am Groot.

Wasn’t spreading false info. My information was the diamond top 300 for july 2011. My list is the order they gave me. And even you admit that fear itself was in number 3 spot WHICH WAS AN X-BOOK. And yes I was leaving out DC comics because when talking about marvel comic sales there is no reason to include sales they have no control over. As for justifying my cause? I am just pointing out that xmen is not a weak franchise and that people should not be dismissing certain character because they happen to be part of one super hero team or another. Especially when half the marvel universe has been an avenger at one point or another.

To be entirely honest, even Marvel looks like they keep the X-Men out of a lot of things, beyond certain characters overlapping various teams.

If I remember correctly, Thanos Imperative sold very, very, VERY well. X-men only sells well cause it is what Marvel pushed in the 90s. And Wolverine. I bet if wolverine appeared in a cosmic comic, It’d sell well too.Average every day reader-type people are attracted to simplistic, mary sue, douche bag characters. This is why X-men does so well.

You’re trying to argue based on popularity which is a silly thing to do.
