You must solder.
You must also file/dremel/sand the 8 button holes to 30mm to fit Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons. They are currently at 28mm, which can fit Korean buttons.
I wonder if the Datel’s arcade pro stick is something worth buying? It will not be for competitive play but for an arcade cabinet for casual players. The thing that is most important is the durability of the stick, will it be able to sustain for a couple of years if it’s used about one night a month? People will probably mash the buttons hard btw.
I myself uses a Madcatz : TE but like I said, will this be okay for casual players? We can’t afford buying something off high quality at the moment, but I need to know if the Datel is at mediocre quality.
Or perhaps there is a better option at a price lower than 70$? Needs to work with PC though.
I’ve got a problem with this datel stick I modded last year for someone (it has been modded to also have a PS1 pad inside it).
When put in the ps3, it says that the power limit has been reached and when I went to go test it on PC, couldn’t recognise and automatically disconnected and then I noticed the USB cable started to melt so I had to pull it out immediately. Analysis is that it sucks more power than it needs and the only physical damage is the usb cable (which I plan to switch out). Any ideas on fixing it or is it hope for the best with the USB cable?
I thought so! I cut off the USB cable and inspected where it had melted and found that the insulation over the wires had broke off. I think it may be because he must’ve been wrapping the cable around the stick too tightly. Going to replace the cable to make certain that it isn’t the board.
EDIT: Found out that it is the USB cable. Thanks Laugh!
PS360 boards are much easier to connect thanks to the screw terminals, but both pcb’s have problems with console locking (not being able to change from one console to the next).
IMO I’d wait for the new PS360+ board to be released, as hopefully the stability issues will be rectified.
Hey I just want to let anyone thinking about getting a cheap stick that I bought one of these recently. It’s my first stick since I recently started played fighting games. I find the stick itself fine, but the buttons were terrible to use so I ordered some sanwa ones for £20 and fit them in. Considering it was my first time doing any kind of modding or even wiring it was very easy to mod, and the new buttons work great. I’m very happy with it now. I think that for £60 total spend it is really good value.
I didn’t solder directly to the circuit board as the board the buttons originally pressed onto lifted clean off the metal connectors, so I just soldered directly onto them. Much easier. I folllowed this video for help
This seemed the best place to post, rather than creating a new thread - apologies if I fail.
I’ve just picked up one of these, and am planning on modding it. I would like to go for an all-Seimitsu build, but have found conflicting info regarding the installation of an LS-32.
Can this model be installed in much the same way as a JLF, or is modification required? It looks like it is simple, but there is a German vid, [youtube.com/watch?v=Xhmp1FWTcRE](German vid) that suggests otherwise.
Sadly, my German is very poor, so I cannot tell exactly what the issue is.
