I was wondering if might give some insight on how Q-Bee is so good?
I have always heard she is good, but I dont know what makes her so good???
The same with Sasquatch.

I don’t think the Nightwarrior boards were QUITE as rare as people thought they were, I mean like 6 months ago I called up Capcom and after some redirections got a hold of the coin op sales and asked if they had any and they did so I bought a board
Savior is probably a better balanced game, though I haven’t really played it enough to really be the judge of that…I just like the overall gameplay of Vampire Hunter/Nightwarriors better. Yes there is more abusable shit, there’s more cheesy stuff, but tis faster paced imo and just more fun for me. But like I said, I never really got a chance to play Vampire Savior a whole lot, and I can’t stand Vampire Chronicles because it’s only good as a Vamprie Savior 2 clone, otherwise there’s too many differences between characters where none of the stuff I’m used to working in VH works. But that’s okay, since I have a board
Random little tidbits…Rikuo’s c.fierce in DS1 was an overhead, and the same move was a super in Vampire hunter, was pretty ghey.
Bishamon can pull back a character in Vampire Hunter if they just BLOCK the sword throw, timing is tough, but get the hang of it and can we say say bROk3N???
There are actually quite a few infinites in Vampire Hunter, not sure about the rest of the series. Some of them are like big character only or Lei Lei only or Zabel Zarok only, but hey, they existed…quite a few 100%'s too if I remember correctly.
Like I said, the game is probably more broken than Savior, but I have more fun with it. I guess same way I like alpha2 better than alpha3 shrug If anyone in the VA/MD area wants to play, get in touch with me, I got ze board!! (I got MSH too which i LOVE as well :D)
Hm. I absolutely don’t see how Demitri can NOT be #1. Q-Bee and Sasquatch are a bit high from my view, but they both are among the better characters. Bonnie Hood, Rikuo, and Raptor are all ranked a tad high there IMO, but I could see them being there at least. Felicia and Bishamon definitely deserve to be higher I think, up there with Talbain. Both of them = sick rushdown. But overall, that ranking seems pretty reasonable.
BTW, Japanese rankings =/ gospel. Spidey top-tier in MvC1, Ironman in MvC2, Gamest’s whole Fatal Fury Special ranking, etc. Not to say they’re always bad sources, by any means, but you CAN go wrong with them every now and then.
B_IzM: Since Q-Bee is one of the characters I play the most, I’ll explain a bit of why she is good. First off, jumping and standing Strong both own, great range and priority. J.strong can be chained into j.roundhouse if you do it early in her jump. Low short and forward are pretty good, and the slide is very good. J.fierce is a great move since it’s essentially an air fireball; you can beat DP’s consistently with it. Her Jaguar Tooth-type move is great, as it can be done in the air, has lots of priority, and can be comboed after easily. Command throw is a pretty good one as it does excellent damage (especially ES version) and can be followed up with a pursuit. The airdash is one of the best things about her, as it homes in on your opponent. Combine this with her high-priority air attacks (j.roundhouse is another good one I forgot to mention) and you can have some pretty good rushdown going. Her supers aren’t that great, though. The honey one is unblockable and good for zoning, but if the enemy gets hit by it in midair you can’t follow up with anything. The bee super is only good for tricking your opponent occasionally; it can be done in the air and has less startup when doing so, so you can try to bait a DP and land the super.
Hope that helped you a bit.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, that ranking made by gamest is dumb! Hsien-ko and Jedah at 11th and 12th?! sheer stupidity. Anyone with brains and skill would have known that Hsien-ko would easily be top 1 and Jedah would at least be 3rd or 4th. And what’s with Talbain being so high? that stupid werewolf has zero asset save for his average speed and average priority. And Anakaris and Bulleta at 4th and 5th? wtf?! Just plain dumb.
It’s also missing Pyron, Huitzil, and Donovan. Besides, the Japanese aren’t always the best in a game. And that has never been proved more true than in MvC2. Iron Man is good, but not that good.
As for the ranking, I don’t see how B. B. Hood can be so high, or Hsien-ko so low.
Hsien-Ko, yeah I could see her being higher. But not Jedah. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he is one of the most overrated characters ever in a fighting game. I often hear that he’s top-tier, but I play him and don’t buy it one bit. Keepaway doesn’t get you very far in VS unless you have solid rushdown to complement it, and Jedah’s rushdown is just decent. Compare him to Demitri or Anakaris, both of whom have solid keepaway games and better rushdown (MUCH better in Demitri’s case).
And as for the VS2 crew, they are the bottom 3 IMO. I think it’s Donovan, then Pyron, then Huitzil.

DA GAME wants to know the differences of these characters from Vampire Chronciles:
Talbain
Morrigan
Demitri
Josh-theFunk is right about Jedah…he’s definatley overrated. He’s doesn’t have enough tricks IMO to make up for his lackluster rushdown abilities. Anakaris has better rushdown capabilities than Jedah. Actually I’d say probably just about everyone does except for Victor. Poor Victor, always in last. He’s still hella fun to play though! I love VH Victor
I started playing ds when i was 9 years old and the first person i picked was Morrigan. I knew nothing about her, but figured i’d giver her a shot because she seemed kinda cool. After a few weeks, I developed Morrigan into an unstoppble force. She is the best and always will be the best. Bishamon kicks ass too!!
Hsien-ko should not be ranked a bit higher, she should be ranked top 1. As for Jedah… well once you get to know his game he’s definitely strong. And yeah Jedah’s not all defense he has mad rushing games thanks to his dash. He’s top 5 material I tell 'ya.
I don’t know if you all feel the same way, but for me VS is the type of game that makes you want to learn all the characters.
the game is just that much fun.
I myself never really got to see good VS comp around here.
Any ways back to my point. I was hoping maybe we can start discussing strategy’s for each of the characters in VS.
1st Character -> Anakaris
please post some strats,combos,rushdown tips.
Thanks again.
I have just DS3 for the PSX, and I’m loving it. My best characters so far are Talbain and Felicia, and I’m working on Morrigan (mostly because she’s in every crossover game including the CvS series  ). I’m also working on Donovan and Huitzil.
As for Jedah, he’s a pain in the ass to fight when the CPU’s using him, but a pain in the ass to use.
I also love Original mode. I got a mass of greased lightning named Maxwell (albino Talbain) and Testament (guess the character and colors).
Damn, I need comp. And maybe a controller better suited for a fighter.
There are many small threads for each DS title but they slowly fade away and disappear . With the update of SRK I can’t find the old threads (yet) so let’s start fresh .
Here are some Vampire Hunter tournamnet vids on redbit that are taken from an old Gamest Tournament Video

I’d like to know about some Anakaris strats too. The only things that I know about him are to try and abuse the curse and use a lot of air fakes.
I gathered that from the Chikyuu vids i’ve seen and thats about all I’ve seen for him. If anyone has anything else please speak up:D

I’m no Anakaris player but a friend of mine used him almost exclusivly so I can share what I’ve faced up against…
The curses are a staple of you attack but against some characters it can be folly to abuse it . A fully charged BBHood should be approached with caution as crule hunting will ruin your lead quickly . Anakaris has a good high low game with his multi-level jumps and standing RH . Go for a crouching short , crouching forward chain ending with standing RH . The s.RH is a top down attack…the chain won’t connect for a combo but they will be forced to adjust their block . Familiarize yourself with Anak’s normals to the point of being intuitive…IIRC s.Jab and s.forward are his best pokes , cr.Frc is his anti-air and jumping short and jumping forward are his B&B pressure attacks mixed in with the curses .
Don’t forget he can back dash across the screen making Jedah’s game much harder for him…thats all I remeber…find a good Anak player for some real strats…
Ted
We need to get those VS vids up in this thread.
Ted, I play Raptor for fun and I’d like to know some good strats with him. Also what is this glitch he has?
BUMP!!!
I’m curious about what Liquited has to say about Raptor myself…trying to learn as much about this game as possible:D
Best fighter ever IMO
-Retro:cool:
Yeah. me and Spider-Dan and I definitely don’t agree on one thing: which is better, Hunter or Savior.
In my opinion, Savior is by far the superior game. Not even just by a little, but by quite a bit. They fixed a lot of things in that game. Here are a few:
Universalized Guard Reversals. Eveyrone now has a DP motion for their GR, and it’s much better that way. In HUnter, characters like Victor, Rikuo, Felicia, and Raptor had too much of an advantage for doing GR’s. You could actually GR with Felicia or Rikuo on reaction, because their codes started from down/back, which is Block. And Raptor could do QCB + Short a lot, and if you poked before he hit his button (after doing QCB), he would block and instantly Guard Reversal. Victor could use QCB + Short as anti-air. Do the code so that you reach Back the instant you think the enemy will do their Jump Attack. As soon as you Block, hit Short and you’ll Guard Reversal. In Savior, all Guard Reversals were made consistently non-abusable. Everyone has to do a DP, now, and it makes GR’s less abusable and more for stopping consistent offenses, not reacting to one move.
Less advantages to ES Pursuits. In Vampire Hunter, there was almost never any reason to use your Meter for anyhting BUT ES Pursuits. They were a guaranteed way of making sure your meter was put to good use. Many hcaracters had ES Pursuits that were too good: Pyron, Bishamon, Morrigan, Demitri… they all had guaranteed ways of landing them. And for characters like Talbain, his ES’s and EX’s were simply not as useful nor guaranteed as his ES Pursuits, so you only ended up using them for ES Pursuits. After Short Razor Kicks or Throws, there was NEVER a reason not to ES your pursuit. And frankly, even though it’s just one more chunk of damage, it was enough. In Vampire Savior, ES Pursuits only do white damage, which can ll be recovered. So there’s more importance placed on using your meter for real ES’s and EX’s, instead of just using them consistently on Pursuits.
If you play the Saturn version, more characters. I’m always favoring the concept of “The More the Merrier”. And if there are four more characters in Vampire Savior, it helps.
Promotion of offense. Most characters are designed to be so offensive now. Themeter system promotes offense (see below). And characters are re-designed with offense more in mind. Sasquatch and Felicia’s redesigns are very much more offensive minded. And the new characters, like Jedah and Q.Bee, are offensively potent as well. Of course, Hunter was no slouch when it came to offense, but I think Savior ends up being a bit more offensive than Hunter.
And now, my arguments against the things people hate about VS:
“Energy / Rouind System is stupid. Trying too hard to be like Killer Instinct.” Well, thanks to the white damage and the regaining of health, attacking is highly promoted. Blocking attacks keeps you from recovering your health, so Attacking is the best thing to do. And because of so much health being gained back, a match lasts just as long anyhow as a normal 3 ROund match that goes the distance. Not only that, but comebacks are never out of the question in this game. So even if someone gets a full meter of damage off the enemy, he doesn’t havea decided advantage. A character can get mauled in mere seconds, so it’s never out of reach.
“What did they do to my character? Why did they change that?!?” I can’t really answer for that, truth be told. I miss Felicia’s sand splash as much as the next guy, and still wonder where Victor’s Headbutt came from. But regardless, none of the changes necessarily made the characters worse nor less playable. In fact, most of them helped. Felicia’s Red Ball special move is HUGELY useful. It definitely makes her more the offensive character she should be. Not liking the new version of a character is probably more of an aesthetics thing. I won’t argue with those who say Victor’s new move looks stupid compared to his old Fist and Foot charges. But as for worsening the character or making them weaker? Nah. The only vaid argument to that is Sasquatch, losing his full-ranged fireball. But I think Sasquatch is more interesting the way he is now, and considering he’s top tier in Japan, he’s obviously not worse off.
So that’s my opinion. Arguments, debates, and agreements are all welcome.
Just a thought… Could you cancel a move during a chain a la Guy in A3?
example: jab, strong, fierce, rh, cancel first frames of rh into super
Kara-cancelling, proximity cancelling or whatever its called… Does that work in DS?
