But it’s not as link heavy as EVERYTHING in SF4. I didn’t say they were completely absent, I meant that it’s not so needful as in SF4.
I can’t tell if you’re trying to agree or argue with me.
And your point is? I still don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about…
I’m talking about the SF4 system being almost completely dependent on links on top of the speed being so slow, which would not work well with DS. Plus the SF4 art style being complete shit doesn’t help.
Like’s been said a million times, SFIV doesn’t represent what it means when someone says, SFIV engine… You could do whatever you wanted to, make it fast, make it slow, make it chain based, make it link based, you could even add custom combos if you wanted to. SFIV as a game has no reflection on what they could actually do if they used it’s engine to make a new fighter.
Take the Unreal Engine as an example…
I get what you mean now. I’m just talking about the way SF4 plays and I figured most people here meant the same thing. But like I said before, as long as it plays like DS and people look like how they’re supposed to and not like the Hulk and Hulk-lite, or just complete ass in general, then I’d probably play it.
yeah honestly the engine deals with stuff much more elementary than game mechanics. were talking like collision detection and shit like that.
Don’t fucking do shit to DS.
Ever. Even if it’s just graphical updates.
Shit sounds like a quick buck to me, fuck that.
Funny, that sounds just like SFIV!
and the new blazblue
Also, yah, the TvC engine fits this game series better. SFIV engine + anything = ass
I’d be inclined to agree with this overall notion.
Some one like 8ing (with Capcom overseeing, of course) would probably be the team that could definitely make a new Vampire/Darkstalkers game happen, and it would likely live up to the past games’ flair and more.
8ing already has a solid game engine, I’d like to see 'em do more with it.
I think this game will be big. Its name is Vampire Savior. That will net us all Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Cirque du Freak, etc. fans
This generation’s got the hots for vampires!
I must stress:
Gameplay & Visual aesthetic are things that are not engine specific/unalterable.
Ono saying that he would like to make a DS on The SFIV engine is (sorta) like saying you want to power your game controller with the same Duracell from an rc car. It’s a background thing that has little to no effect on how anyone will experience the game as a player/observer.
It can been done IF they do it cel-shaded style instead of the horrible way SFIV looks.
You are saying that the “engine” Ono is referring to is simply command interpretation and graphical overhaul, which it very well is by technical standards, but we both know that it is not even remotely limited to that in Ono’s mind. He could say, “We are going to touch up the character models”, and blam, Morrigan is an 8 foot tall black man with a leather duster jacket and a laser cannon.
Ono’s words =/= Literalism.
You must be insane if you think that BB2 is an attempt at a quick buck.
You have to have something worth cashing in on to do that.
Does this mean that I can get my SFIV chess set?
Anyway, rather than people jumping on a new game that will most definitely be simplified, compromising the actual game for easy accessibility, more people should just try to play Vampire Savior so they know what it’s all about. A lot of people are saying “Yeah! Darkstalkers!” just because they’ve seen some Morrigan fan art with big ass and titties.
Darkstalkers 3 XBLA/PSN port with GGPO netcode, nuff said…
Yes, but only with a portion of the pieces you are expected to get, and on a Checkers board. They’re really the same thing, so I don’t see why they would have to waste money on Chess boards. Sorry to all the Chess board players out there.
I don’t think I want to see Street Fighther IV: Vampires and Furries Edition.
I like the DS series, but I just don’t think the SFIV would mix well with that series.
Damn it, he spoke about chess so much and I was hyped. I should be appreciative, though; at least he is bringing back SFchess and making it more accessible.
