i only watched the stream on a small window so didnt see the artwork in high res or anything but i thought it looked pretty good. there was a lot of the 3rd strike OE art that i thought was really bad though, is it the same artist?
What do try want Capcom to do ten? Just leave the series dead? I mean it’s awesome that guys have te dedication to grind it out, I’ve nothing but respect for them but it seems to me that rather than turn their noses up at this they’d be seizing the opportunity to grow their game.

Nothing’s going to grow because the current FGC (I fucking hate that term) will not give a flying fuck for the game after the second month. This is what’s going to happen.
The current FGC: “Oh man, I loved DS back in the day, I’ll be all over this! When it drops!”
- Game is released *
- It sells rather well out of the gates *
- Maximillian makes 8 videos of him playing it online / or makes another Assist Me as ordained by Capcom *
- Current VSeterans will be excited to see people be enjoying the game *
- Month 1 tournaments will have good numbers *
- Month 2 tournaments will have lower numbers *
- Month 3 tournaments will no longer run the game*
- Game is pronounced dead by the ‘FGC’, returning back to SF4 / UMVC3 / calling other half year old games dead *
It blows my mind that NO ONE is running 3S tournaments right now. The 3S scene was easily one of the top 3 biggest scenes, it literally resurrected itself to get back into EVO, and they bring it back again and the game is practically dead on arrival. Every skinny capri wearing hipster is going to swear they’ll play DS when it comes out, but at best they’ll just watch other big name players / content providers play it for a few weeks and then not give a fuck anymore. The people who have always been playing and running shit for it will continue to do so but no one knew will actually step up to help or aid in growing the scene for DS. Ever.

Well allrighty then. I know Capcom has been rather shady as of late but this to me seems like nothing but good news. And who knows? It it catches on it could start getting play at tourneys here in the US. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway.
That’s not gonna happen and you know it. Especially since there are more killers in the US and a harder entryway than in 3S. I don’t think I’ve taken a single round off of any killer in the GGPO VSav room. Only reason I’m not playing more now is because my laptop has a hate on for GGPO these days for some reason. The point is the killers in this game will annihilate everyone so bad they’ll quit the game within a week max.
No, forget ‘real’ players, no one is making that distinction. Even when VS dropped on GGPO we were pushing people to come to tournaments.
Fuck, no one wants that to happen either, but it WILL, the current environment and nature of the FGC (ugh) is to make sure of that.

Well, I was more thinking real as in not just killers but people who honestly want to learn and play the game. I can’t even say I’m one of them since I didn’t work all that hard to fix the GGPO on my laptop.
The real problem with the characters is that while there’s a decent sized casual fanbase for the games, none of them are actually in it to play the game. Sure the merch sells, but do you really see any of them even consider going into the GGPO room for VSav?
Stupid defeatist mentality due to Wiz apparently not liking it combined with too much focus on issues that for the most part, had nothing to do with offline tournament play (except maybe complaints of lag… but guess what, every game designed to work on CRTs will lag on LCDs, that and FBA runs the games at the wrong speed).

I debating in my head to even get the port especially since it has hunter also but damn there is a lot of wrong I’m seeing in the ports and the new one.
