DARKSTALKERS RESURRECTION coming to XBLA and PSN

I just want the new DarkStalkers to be treated with respect instead of the pandering shitty dubstep infested cashgrabs of games that are released today.

Something music like this

I know this isn’t DarkStalkers music, but you can see the kind of heart, time, love, and respect went into this song.

I want this with a mix of the Disney like animation of the original

The creativity of the backgrounds in the original

The love that went into the individuality of each character (yes even John Talbain)

The sound effects, the engine, everything has to be solid 100%. You can add air combos, but limited like Guilty Gear

I don’t want a shitty cashgrab, which is what i am CERTAIN what Capcom would do as they are. I want a respected art piece, which is what the series deserves. Looking at current Capcom, that’s clearly not what we were gonna get. We were gonna get a rushed, outsourced, shitty game, and that’s just the truth.

I’d LOVE a new Cyberbots…
What you said about CFJ… I was saying this shit when Capcom was like, “no talks with SNK exist” when people wanted CvS3.
Just give me a Capcom Crossover game with CvS2 style mechanics… PLEASE

LOL OK, there probably wasn’t very many people that even thought of crossing over those franchises simply because one is a 2D fighter and the other is a 3D fighter. Obviously after selling 1.4 million units there was demand for it. Now it may have not reached long term sales expectations due to overall poor execution and bad publicity from on-disc DLC.

I’m certain not very many people has thought of a crossover between Halo and Gears of War, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that if one was made people wouldn’t want it. Like Steve Jobs said, “People don’t know what they want until you show it to them”.

I agree with you, but there’s something that you & the rest must understand. The main reason why Street Fighter has gone HD with the entire SFIV series (as well as with the Marvel Vs. Capcom series with MvC 3/UMvC 3) is because that there’s more of a fanbase for SF & MvC around the world in general to warrant the costs of development for those games than there is for Vampire/Darkstalkers.

It probably would’ve been financially suicide to have a brand new Vampire/Darkstalkers game like with the SFIV series, & like with MvC 3/UMvC 3, especially when there’s such a smaller fanbase for it outside of Japan.

@Hawkingbird
I was simply illustrating the number of risks Capcom has taken in recent years. DD was a risk that actually paid off. And I actually agree with the time frame in which they should release a new fighter. I just don’t want it to be Darkstalkers that suffers that rape.

Believe it or not, 3/4 of videogame consumers don’t browse the internet about the games they buy. They usually rely on commercials and magazines most of which, SFxT got great reviews. Most of the people who bought SFxT didn’t even know about the DLC fiasco.

And 1.4 million for STREET FIGHTER AND TEKKEN?! Keep in mind, when Capcom and Namco bragged about 3 mill+ sales for SFIV and T6 (6M+ all together), 1.4 may be a lot for ASW and SNK but is VERY piss poor for Namco and Capcom. They couldn’t even meet minimal projections.

Yeah, it was a disappointment given the expectations and the popularity of the franchises involved. However it was an idea worth pursuing given the brand recognition and easy potential for success.

I think a new Darkstalkers could be a huge hit, however there’s gotta be a lot of important people with some power in Capcom to believe in it too. I think if there’s any fighting franchise they would revive next, surely this has to be it.

I agree, but I think the “if” is the key word there. Although Darkstalkers is their most successful fighting franchise after Street Fighter and the various crossovers, it’s still several steps below them. And in today’s game industry, everything is about focusing on the few proven, big name sellers.

lol Capcom.

They take 2 Big IPs and fuck it up and it sells poorly.(SFxT)

They use a 16year old not so known outside of FGC franchise digital re-release it ‘didn’t sell enough’.

But no its not their fault. The market is saturated. The fans didn’t keep their words. We didnt do anything wrong.

So they have no current plans for the series.
They also said they aren’t currently making the next Street fighter. The same goes for marvel.

It might be a while before they announce a new fighting game at all. That might not be a bad thing though.

There’s still hope?!

While I’m here, I have a question for Anakaris players (all 2.1 of you, seemingly). HOW IN THE EVER-LOVING F**K DO YOU DEAL WITH FELICIA? Every time Rolling Buckler goes under Cobra Blow, a puppy explodes. Talbain isn’t even that much of an issue, but Felicia is just ridiculous against Anakaris.

The biggest thing in both the Felicia and Talbain matchup are picking your spots and relying on the opponent to make poor decisions. Both of these characters have the notorious super turbo vega jump-in and both have pretty good hitboxes out of their jump-ins to boot.

You will first have to learn how to use your c.hp and sometimes your c.mp in both the matchups to punish jump-ins. I do not recommend s.mp as the hitbox is to close to Anakaris that if you make a tactical error you will be defeated by an elite Talbain or Felicia player, so it is best to not utilize it as much as possible. If you insist on using it, make sure it is in a pressure string and that you do it early before they reach the apex of their jumps.

Against Felicia’s Rolling Buckler, that move can be block punished. Delta Kick is a lot more difficult to deal with as Anakaris does not have the tools to deal with it; you will have to chicken block or stay away from her on wake up if you don’t want her to get in for free off the move.

The most difficult move to deal with is lp cat spike. This move is hell on earth for Anakaris, It is essentially an endless chip damage blockstring loop on Anakaris and is the sole reason why you do not want to be next to the character if you are not on offensive advantage. If you get caught you want to be in the middle of the screen at max range of cat spike so that you possibly have a chance of being pushed out by the move.

As stated, you will be using the screen to your advantage. Runaway from them if you must. Look for openings and go in when you have a clear chance to take a potshot at them. Do not let them get in by any means necessary.

yo dudes i was thinking about getting this game for xbl is the community still there or is it dead?

Any tips on Rikuo’s 5th Challenge? I’ve watched vids and tried both the legit and non-legit way but it’s a B**CH to pull off.
I’ve completed the other challenges…
How practical this is in an actual match seems to be very little. Ridiculous Crapcom challenges…

I’m assuming the Rikuo infinite in Hunter, which is a bitch to pull off especially since they chose the hardest version of it, but you have to cancel the heavy into a back dash then into a forward dash.

If you have the execution it’s practical like the bbhood infinite in Vsav. Hell, you can use gas and bubble to help set it up unlike bbhood’s.

It practical in the sense that its so hard that no one does it in matches. Ive actually never seen it done in a match before. Mikado tourneys, Playing against TKO, DCC, nowhere.
