DARKSTALKERS RESURRECTION coming to XBLA and PSN

Because fetus?

Vaguely related, here’s a track I produced some years ago. The full thing got lost in a hard drive crash, but I found a preliminary version deep in the recesses of my current one.

Yes the first Darkstalkers was broken in the sense you could cancel chain combos into specials and what not. Then the super gauge system worked more like S-Groove from CvS2, it was odd. That and the chains did not feel right, felt very slow and almost like links. It could go only go LP, MP, HP and you couldn’t alternate.

Wasn’t Alpha 1 similar? They came out around the same time period too.

In regards to Chain Combos, yes. Otherwise Alpha had the basic level 1, 2, 3 super gauge within all Alpha games that got used in CVS.

Yeah, that’s right. Alpha was weird for me, because I went from ST, Alpha came into the arcade and I tried it and said fuck that… went back to Super Turbo… Alpha 2 came out, and slowly, everyone went to that and I started with Alpha from there. I played Alpha 1 for like a week, so it’s all vague. I just remember having beaten somebody once with that stupid combo system and the timer said 97 seconds. Two fucking seconds, I took down his health… smh.

Do they generally use normal mode or turbo mode in Darkstalkers tournaments?

Vampire Savior Turbo 3. Vampire Hunter Turbo 2.

It has been mentioned in this thread before: the english names are the original names. Japan changed some names, just because.

I suck balls; btw, any tips what I should be doing in some of these matches? Like, umm, what should I abuse and what I shouldn’t be doing?

I’m the orange bulleta

against Rikuo

and some other long boring matches, but advices will still help :]

Welp, had my first online matches with Hsien Ko and I lost every single one. Did well against two Talbains, mixed results against some Demitris and got blown up by a Bishamon player several times
It seems in general Bish gives Hsien Ko trouble, since his projectiles can move fast and the gong only stops them rather than reflects them. Plus his long range pokes are annoying. I’ll probably try again soon, but for now I’ll need to work on getting Tenraiha’s input right consistently.
Thinking about trying out Lilith soon, she looks interesting to play.

I’m looking around the menus and is there any way to set a ping threshold for ranked, or at least a region?

Being on in the evening in England and getting matched up with 250+ ping players with Japanese names, surely there are people closer who I’d have a better connection with playing at this time.

Bish is one of Lei-Lei’s worst matchups. ES Gong and f.MP can buy you some space if he’s not in your face, but you have to be especially careful about approaching him since most of his ambiguous normals outclass yours. LP Item works as a decent poke, too, if you know he’s gong to dash. That’s when he’s most in control and also most vulnerable.

Be patient if he locks you down and only tech hit/GC what you absolutely know he’ll hit, because he’s good at staggering and blowing up bad reads. Don’t try to jump out of the corner to start your offense, either, because he can swat you out of the air with st.HP. You have to be very careful when starting your offense against him but once you get the mixup, there’s not a whole lot he can do about it.

Is there a certain method for Jedah to approach opponents, nearly everything this guy has can be stuffed? If there isn’t, is there simply a safer way to approach most foes? Something I may be missing, because I’m solid once I can get in there, but just getting in there…wow?

I’m pretty sure that you can set a maximum ping from multiplayer menu. I think default was 150.

European players add me. Gamertag Killusions, i play Demitri and I’m currently ass but improving.

What should I be doing with Demitri? I really enjoy playing this character, but he seems to be low-mid tier, as most of his matchups are not in his favor. Like Felicia can roll under his fireballs for a free punish, and Hsien-ko has the projectile counter. I don’t know how to input his 263kk super into gameplay. Anyone have useful combos, or strategies? I’ve been using light fireballs a lot cause they cover his approach fairly well, but I don’t really have mixups cause he doesn’t have a command overhead or flight dash…

Hunter or Savior? His super you’re speaking of are different in each

I really hope they fix the input lag soon. I have never, EVER been able to pull a tenreiha off on this damn sony dualshock 3 even with redefined buttons to make things easier.

and that’s OFFLINE PRACTICE mode i’m talking about.

I doubt it’s the input lag that is messing with you as kajoq isn’t having problems with it on console.

Yeah it’s generally just like that, you have to input it rather slow. This ain’t the old Raging Demon you’re used to.
