If you are looking for difficulty then look up “renka bonus” or darkforce combos for Jedah or something… Characters like BB Hood, Morrigan, and Talbain have standard combos too… gl. back to lurking
It’s not so much difficulty as it is practicality I’m looking for. And the timing for links, eh, I dunno, in a frantic game like DS3 I am looking for something basic to score some damage quickly.
I’m so confused as to what I should be doing with Felicia. Like, yeah, rush down, but what are my best jump in buttons? Should I use pursuit or go for more oki? The mizumi (whatever it’s called) wiki helps but anything more would be greatly appreciated.
Jumping HP and HK have stupid priority, beats me out of almost everything it seems. The D,D + P is faster and will do more damage than the pursuit. But the pursuit will travel the full screen. So here it depends on your positioning. Plus, even if the pursuit misses it will keep you on top of your opponent.
Her best jump attack is HP, it also OS her air throw. j.HK is very good also.
As far as her pursuit goes, you’re better off just dashing/walking towards your opponent for oki. for a lot of the cast u usually have to commit left/neutral/right to get a proper mixup. But, if u need the extra damage, go for the pursuit.
if the opponent is in the corner, you’re always better off going for her 22P otg move over her pursuit. (don’t think her 22P move works on characters with faster wake up times).
Not too sure on the damage difference between her pursuit/22P moves, but her 22P leads to better oki for the most part.
if that were the case we wouldnt get a SF4 release after the SFIII fiasco.
as a PC user there is no other alternative than GGPO or Supercade.
good thing is that Steam makes some good offers. Buying the full game of SF4 and SFxTekken with DLC on a Steam offer, costs 1/3 the price of Windows Live Marketplace.
as a result, bought each game twice. Hope I am entitled for a free DS copy on GGPO…
You can’t always trust Capcom on their word with this shit (see: MML3).
A more accurate statement would be that purchasing resurrection can only help the chances of getting a new Darkstalkers.
Anyway, Capcom used the rereleases to atleast reignite interest in old franchises. They know the performance of a rerelease does not reflect how a new iteration will do.
But at the same time, if absolutely nobody shows interest with their wallet in that franchise, and all the fuss for a new game on the internet was hot air, they might be producing a flop.
If there is a new Darkstalkers game in the works(and I’m not 100% convinced), they will do more than just look at the numbers of the rerelease to determine whether to finish the product or kill it, before it costs them even more. But it still is an indication of how much interest really is in the franchise.
theres pretty excellent threads for both vampire hunter and vampire savior you can find if you dig through the strategy zone. they’re super long but a lot of good info is posted right in the beginning including several combos and tactics for each character. it’d be sweet to get some character-specific threads goin if this game gets a big turnout. I’m loving VS right now, havent dabbled much with VH but I want to try Donovan in that game. Maining Zabel (L. Rapter) right now. A zombie rockstar with a chainsaw and an IAD? Works for me.
Hunter is 2, Savior is 3 - easy to remember as they match the game’s number in the series.
Few off-topic things…
How does Hunter 2 compare to Hunter 1?
Tips? I’m the Morrigan player, mostly new to this game. I’ve played DS1 on my PSX when I was 10 and didn’t quite understand the game, and dabbled with Vampire Savior many years ago (While in college, and I graduated college 5 years ago to give you a timeframe). Here’s 3 ranked that I was in yesterday and @d3v gave me some pointers on G+ already. I only have uploaded matches that were around even. I didn’t think there’s a point to uploading matches that I either destroyed somebody who was obviously new to fighting games or somebody who completely dominated me, as you can’t in either situation see what’s going on as a match.
It was nothing that you wouldn’t have picked up after a few more matches. For example, in the vid you posted on G+, you were able to take the match back after you stopped tossing out Soul Fists from afar and started to play up close.
Hunter 2 is the same as Savior 2 except it has different characters. The title is pretty misleading in that sense.
Anyway, Capcom has confirmed a few issues exist that they’re planning to patch:
Hunter:
Bishamon can do his sword throw followups even if the sword throw is blocked.
Rikuo can hit bubbled opponents with moves that don’t hit bubbled opponents in the tournament standard version.
Savior:
Dark Force startup graphics don’t match the original.
Gloomy Puppet Show’s button flashes don’t match the music.
