His daddy is Bishamon.
Ill be getting this game. I play savior as well as hunter on ggpo. been messing around on savior 2 because of the new characters. Ill be playing donovan and bee. As for ds4 I have higher hopes than i did for sf4 and ive seen all my favorite game franchises get raped one more wouldnt effect me.
Sven has replied to the thread on Ask Capcom saying that he’ll get Derek to respond as soon as he gets back. I’ve also linked Shu’s site and Feliniki’s translations for them to see.
Those translations are great, but I think looking at them will overwhelm Iron Galaxy. All of those aren’t things that are in Vampire Savior Arcade. They just need to know which of those should be turned “on” as per the option in the PS2 port that sets the game to VS CPS2.
For anyone looking for help learning this game, I think the videos at this youtube channel should be the first stop. There are basic combo vids for every character.

This is the Zabel video that I’m using to pick him up. I transcribed the combos for myself, and I’ll put that up at some point. It’s very helpful and serves as a great overview for the character and the system.
Question: What is up with the Zabel combo at the 31 second mark in this video? How does that work?

Demitri is a tall character, so it’s possible to do instant overheads aganist him and do a air chain on the way down. Most character can do it one way or another. Not practical at all.

I realize that it’s not practical, but I would like to fool around with it. Is there any trick to the initial instant overhead?
This needs to happen ASAP.
This is what the secret option menu looks like in the PS2 collection when set for the proper VS rev that everyone plays:

[]2-2: Bulleta’s Cheer & Fire can be unblockable. (After a certain point during the animation, it becomes unblockable: LP is frame 15, MP is frame 19, HP is frame 24. This is after the active portion of the attack begins, so it has to be a meaty hit to be unblockable.)
[]2-3: Glitches involving afterimage/clone-type Dark Forces: 1. After Lilith starts and ends a LP + LK or MP + MK Dark Force, she can be juggled by the afterimage/clone attacks of Lilith’s HP +HK Dark Force, and Morrigan and Gallon’s Dark Forces. 2. After Felicia starts and ends a Dark Force, she can’t be hit by the afterimages/clones from Morrigan’s Dark Force and Darkness Illusion. Liliths HP + HK Dark force and Luminous Illusion, and Gallon’s Dark Force. (It’s also possible for Gallon’s attacks to miss some hits.) 3. After Lei-Lei’s opponent is hit by the spikeballs from her Tenraiha, she can’t be hit by the afterimages/clones from Morrigan’s Dark Force and Darkness Illusion. Liliths HP + HK Dark force and Luminous Illusion, and Gallon’s Dark Force. (It’s also possible for Gallon’s attacks to miss some hits.) These glitches lose effect once a projectile is thrown.
[]2-4: 1. Glitch that causes certain throws to dizzy when teched out of them (Bishamon, Zabel, Aulbath). (Note: Don’t understand this one…) 2. When trading hits with Bishamon’s ES Hayate, you still go into the seppuku animation (although you don’t take damage from it, you can be hit out of it).
[]2-5: Zabel doesn’t get meter for whiffing his down + kick attacks during an air dash.
[]2-6: Zabel doesn’t get meter for whiffing normals during a dash or air dash.

[]2-9: Unknown.
[]2-10: After air blocking an attack, Felicia becomes able to block ground based attacks until she reaches the ground.
[]2-11: Unknown.
[]2-12: Zabel is hittable during his standing chopped in half animation.
[]2-13: The very end of Zabel’s jumping light kick is unblockable.
[]2-14: Unknown.
[]2-15: Glitch that causes Lilith’s LP + LK or MP +MK clone to not disappear. (Note: Don’t know how this is done…)
[]2-16: Zabel is able to block during the recovery of his jumping light and medium punches.
[]3-1: Unknown.
[]3-2: Arcade version credit roll.
[]3-3: After whiffing an attack during an air dash, Zabel is able to use the same attack again before he lands.
[]3-4: Unknown.
[]3-5: Unknown.
[]3-6: Sometimes Aulbath’s Poison Breath and Sonic Wave won’t hit an opponent under the effect of Water Jail. (Note: Don’t know how this is done…)
[]3-7: Gallon’s ES Beast Cannon can be unblockable. (Upon changing direction from a straight down rush, a period of approximately 10 frames during which the opponent is unable to block is activated.)
[]3-8: After Felicia performs Head Ride or Cat Clinch, until the opponent enter a neutral state, they’ll be knocked down by any attack that should cause reset.
[]3-9: Q-Bee has invincibility on missed throws.
[]3-10: Unknown.
[]3-11: Glitch that causes Q-Bee’s attacks to have no pushback against a cornered opponent. (Note: Don’t know how this is done…)

Phenomena that cannot be changed via options (the same no matter whether all stars are on or off).
[LIST]
[]After Anakaris performs a midair special, he can air block ground-based attacks.
[]When performing Zabel’s Hell Gate with multiple simultaneous buttons, he’ll appear slightly to the left of where he would when performed with LK.
[]Zabel’s forward + MK gives him less meter than is usual for a medium attack.
[]After Lei-Lei performs an ES Senpuubu, until she enters a neutral state she won’t flash upon performing an ES or EX move.
[]Lei-Lei can cancel whiffed medium and hard punches into specials during an air dash.
[]Gallon’s Dark Force afterimages can hit opponents during wakeup.
[]Felicia’s Rolling Buckler uppercut causes bizarre blowback on trade.
[]If Sasquatch’s Big Eisbahn is interrupted by Felicia’s Head Ride (right around when the ice appears), the ice will remain.
[]Bishamon can perform Tamashii Yose and hit the opponent before they go into the air, putting them into standing hitstun.[/details]

Looking at the stars that are not filled, the following are the omitted mechanics according to the translation. Unfortunately three of those are missing, but if they are working from the PS2 port all they should need to do is set the version to the 1997/05/19 rom.

To recap and double-post, these are the current concerns for Resurrection, if Capcom is reading this:
Someone that is more focused on Vampire Hunter is going to have to keep on top of that one.
Yeah, it’d be fucked up if Savior was all good and they borked Hunter(or vice versa). If anybody here knows Hunter on that level get on that ass.
All of Hunter’s switches should be on except for 3-4 (unknown), 3-5 (chain cancels), 3-6 (Savior-style autoguard system), 3-7 (midair chains), 3-8 (unknown) and 3-9 (Anakaris coffin command tweak). Then there’s the issue of Poison Breath and Sonic Wave against Water Jailed opponents. In the arcade 1995/03/02 version they don’t work, but they always work in the PS2 version no matter what the dipswitch settings. So it will have to be fixed.
Also Hunter should be on Turbo speed (it only has two possible speeds, Normal and Turbo).
Fish not being able to gas (more important) or sonic people in the bubble? That’s huge for him.
He’s already considered the #1 character in the game without it. Being able to get full jump in combos could be too much, given that damage levels in Hunter are overall higher than in Savior.
Posting this all over Unity so people can see.
I think they should use the speed people actually playing the game use (eg. Japanese) Game should otherwise be arcade perfect with all the quirps and stuff (Not going to happen, because PS2/DC/Saturn/whatever version and Iron Galaxy)
Just brace for dissapointment already folks, so you won’t be later.
^Already mentioned that PS2 version is basically arcade perfect w/ dipswitches.
That’ll be a first if an PS2-version of any game is totally arcade perfect. Even SFAA had some differances IIRC, and that was pretty damn close.
Read the thread.
