I liked how Udon gave Anita a mother for one second. Maybe that will stop people asking Udon if Anita is Rose…
It was good seeing Gallon/Talbain’s Martial Arts Relationship, something DS Mangas and Animes seem to ignore.
Anyway, a great issue pound for pound!

I picked this issue up yesterday and was hoping issue 1 was available, but no luck.
I am very impressed with this DS issue. Alvin’s art is fantanstic, it kept reminding me of an animation cel rather than a comic panel. The issue is dedicated to Donovan and Anita reviews their history and motives, which is good for character development, imo. Can’t really say why but I love how Donovan’s face is drawn. The back-up story art is equally as good. I can tell LeSean put in a lot of effort in it. I think it is even better than the art he did for the SF back-up.
Although I never got good at playing the DS games, I have dabble with them and I recognize some of the moves and they were wonderfully and faithfully rendered in the book. I’ve skimmed through a DS canon info from a site called something like “gate to darkness” and the Udon book is staying true to those canon elements.
I really hope sales improve, whith this level of quality it would be a shame to see the book cancelled.

I have two variant A’s and a variant B pre-ordered and will pick up the power foil from Hero Fix at a later date, but I won’t actually be getting the comics for a month or so as I wait for my orders to build.
I’ve been meaning to get the issue, but ever since the release date I’ve been busy with one thing or another. 
If it makes you feel any better, I haven’t heard anything bad about the issue yet.

Loved the fight scenes of Donovan totally kicking ass on the zombies then whooping Bishimon (sp?), with that surprise summon attack ^______^.
I don’t know how Alvin does it, but he captures the action so well, and the moves beautifully as if i could imagine it easily being an animation =p. Maybe i have become a big Alvin fan boy XD
It will be interesting to see what happens next issue. Morrigan has been targetted ‘x’ ‘x’ ‘x’
I liked the back up story also. Very cool to see Talbain getting training. Is he good in the game? I really don’t know as I’m not a big fan, and only know a little about it, but still love the series overall. <3 Lei Lei =p

Was torn as to which cover to get, as I love Alvin’s art, but also loved Le Sean’s Donovan cover too! @________@. I ended up with Alvin’s cover in my hand =]
I just got the issue yesterday due to an ice storm that left the roads pretty unsafe and my car covered in about a half an inch of ice.
It took me at least 20 minutes for me to pry the doors open and warm up the car enough to begin scraping the ice. =

I read the issue this morning, I liked it enough.
I don’t really know a lot about Darkstalkers except what I saw in the OVA’s and a little bit of canon stuff on a website. So, I’m reserving a lot of judgement until there are more issues out there.
Also, I don’t really care for Donovan and this issue was dedicated to him.
I like the story pacing and how you’re giving each character a chance to shine. It seems like you’re showcasing the issue’s character on the cover, so does that mean next month is Felicia, then Victor/Demetri and issue 5 will have Bishamon?
The art is nice, and I like Alvin’s use of blacks. It definately sets it apart from his SF work. Some of the story telling was a little unclear. ie. when Donovan first throws off his cloak and hat and tosses his sword on page 4, it was really unclear that he threw his sword in that panel. Mostly because it was so close up.
All in all I like the comic, so I’ll definately be sticking with it.
Although, I think you should have made an announcement regarding the printing error for the issue 1 powerfoil much sooner, because no one knew what the hell was going on with it and it’s extremely late.
got the issue after fighting with a few stores. stupid store sold the copy i RESERVED because someone came in before me an offered to buy it right away. got it from a competing store.
looks great. i’im definitely gonna be following this series and, hopefully, be able to complete the every cover. i’ll be showing this off to friends too, to get 'em started.
on a side note, the store that stores were pretty speechless they told me they ran out of copies and i asked for their boss’ phone number so i could supply them with the comics myself. hahaha talk about embarrassing.
people are loving this udoneko. DS 2A and 2B all sold out within HALF a day of release. that’s around 4 hours! looks amazing.
oh by the way, please keep Alvin Lee working on this one. 
Got the issue today and it was fantastic.donovan and anita are hollow empty reminders of their former selves-so cool. The art and fighting in the comic were top notch.I will tell this,Udoneko,that the miami comic and anime shop is stacked up hard on the street fighter and darkstalkers comics.They got in a TON of drakstalkers issues and they are selling very well.Good to see atleast one comic shop that is fully supporting these comics.
Loving this comic, almost more than SF because I haven’t played the DS games or even know the story. Awesome art, keep up the good work!
I got it and loved it. One observation tho. The end of #1 there was a big page with DM on it but then he wasn’t in issue #2 at all. Did that stirke anyone else as a bit of a letdown?

Haven’t got it yet. Comic store all the way up in Nottingham (A little out of my way to be sure) didn’t have it. Finally got the two Street Fighter comics I was missing though, yipee!
I love Donovan (or at least the mumblering hero in the OVA’s and the overal design of him) so as someones said this comic is about him I will have to find a way to get it somehow.
Udon… You guys keep worrying me on how you portray Anita’s face. One moment she looks sad and the next she looks like Anita. And you guys have to do a whole page dedicated to just Donavan walking away and anita scurrying behind him by like 10 feet. I’m thinking the emotional impact would be stellar.
Btw for one of the next covers JT looks like a hulking monster. Please please don’t portray him as being 8 feet tall or something. pweedy pweeeze.
Other than that I’m loving how you are treating one of my favorite game series. I’ll be watching this series very very closely. cobra stare
