Wanted to start a thread to talk about this awesome book!
It’s even BETTER than the Japanese version to me because some of the drawings are BIGGER especially my favorite part, several rejected sketches of the Darkstalker characters!
So much in this book, EVERY PIECE OF OFFICIAL DARKSTALKERS ARTWORK IS HERE and I’m talking about hyper rare stuff like Bengus’ (AKA CRMK) two drawings of Belail that haven’t been seen since the Capcom Illustrations book in the 90s!
It even includes character portraits of the characters’ crossover appearances in games like MVC2, CVS1 and 2, CFE etc. Shadow, Marionette, DEE FROM VAMPIRE COLLECTION, check check CHECK! A glossary for several Darkstalker terms, the making of the games, all of the game endings, all of Udon’s DS comic book covers and more maaaang THIS BOOK RULES! If you even remotely like Darkstalkers you owe it to yourself to check this one out! Oh BTW we got the clapping smilies back at SRK, so take a bow Udon, great job on the translation!
I recently acquired a copy of SF Tribute, which was amazing, and made me interested in anything else Udon puts out. That, plus the fact that I really enjoy Darkstalkers art, made me interested. Your post has sold me on it. Thanks Sano.
