An exploration of the lore would be fascinating. Would give Capcom a chance to develop the characters more. I only fear that the story would be almost entirely Morrigan and Demitri focused with little attention paid to the rest of the cast.
It could be Morrigan, Lei-Lei and Felicia hosting a fourth wall breaking TV show and most of us wouldnât care as long as there was a new Darkstalkers that played good.
Ruby is actually a rejected Darkstalker. There are rumors that Capcom was going to make a Darkstalkers 4 way back and she was one of the new commers. The project scrapped though. But Capcom liked her design so much, they made her the main in MVC2.
I also think Amingo is a rejected Darkstalker. Like he has too much in common with the cast to not be. Vivid colorful sprite, squash and stretch animations, all those transformations. Goofy bizarre attacks. He just screams Darkstalkers. I think he may have been intended as the serieâs plant monster.

Yeah you are rightâŚlilith defeats morrigan in her ending, but gets absorbed into morriganâs unconscious body. The difference in the endings seems to be that in Morriganâs she has retrieved a lost part of herself and feels more alive than ever, is in complete control. In Lilithâs it seems as if Morrigan and Lilith are battling for control of the body.

I remember the MVC1 intro, I donât know if that was foresight for a future darkstalkers or just something done to be aesthetically pleasing and show that MVC1 Morrigan is true Morrigan with all her power restored.

Alright the real reason I would rather not have Lilith as a separate character in darkstalkers is she is kind of a black mark. Darkstalkers has no clone characters other than her. She shares most of Morriganâs normals, comboing into Illusion is a massive part of her game. They do play differently cause of their mobility options and the different fireballs, however I would prefer no clones in the next Darkstalkers.
What I propose is that fused Morrigan would appear by herself rather than Lilith and Morrigan, and she would have properties of both. She could have Lilithâs hurricane kick move, Morriganâs projectiles done with QCF+P Lilithâs done with QCF+K, she would have morriganâs air dash mobility, and have supers of both characters.

Iâve always thought Tessa would fit perfectly in Darkstalkers. Ruby Heart could fit, I think they would want to do more with her ability to command ghosts and as u mentioned the overlap with Talbain could be a problem. AmingoâŚI dunno. Mexicans seemed really offended by this character, with the giant sombrero, belly and gardening references. I personally just thought he looked really dumb. I do really dig the idea of a plant creature in darkstalkers though.

One character that is mentioned a lot in Darkstalkers but never seen is Belial. I do think it would be cool if they could make him the final boss in the next Darkstalkers. Assumedly he would be an unplayable character. Also grown up Anita with her powers fully developed would be something I would love to see in a new game.

Iâve never seen a Mexican offended by Amingo. Heâs not offensive to Mexicans.
I got mexican friends who were very offended with Amingo (Amigo + n). However besides that does anyone like the look of Amingo? He could be a darkstalker cause he is a plant man, but visually I think he is a poor fit.
Keep in mind we already have modern Felicia, Sasquatch, and ass grabs. Amingo wouldnât feel too goofy relative to the base game.
It isnât just that he is goofy, it is just a rather uninspired design from an aesthetic perspective. I also think his ball attack is again drawing similarities to Talbain.
In keeping with the theme of being based off classic movie monsters, I think it would be infinitely better if the plant man was based on the monster from 1951âs âIt came from Another worldâ
Amingo is a bad design, not worthy of Darkstalkers.
Fuck modern Felicia! Capcom needs to bring back the cute and playful yet sassy, smart mouthed Felicia who actually had a fighterâs physique. And do away with the skinny ,frail looking, overly cute, pushover she has become in UMVC3. At least thatâs how I feel.
