Refresh my memory but was Darkstalkers 1 released to the US for PSX?
…and if it did, was it not censored? Darkstalkers 3 was censored IIRC, so it’s odd that they’d mention blood.
It’s the PS1 version. Anyway the game play is horrible even if it was the arcade version.

A-fuckin’-men. Nightwarriors on Saturn was ambrosia from Zeus himself, though. Why can’t we get THAT? Because since it wasn’t on psx, they can’t do a 10-minute port job on it?

Who the hell asked for this? They’re just throwing PSX Capcom games on PSN all day.
They are probably testing the waters for the new Darkstalkers game. See how interested people really are in the series and not just bitching about no new darkstalkers game for the sake of bitching.

The PSX version was technically a good port, but it was as bare bones as it got, and it’s not Night Warriors/Vampire Hunter (the great de-sucking revision upgrade of the game which addressed the whole ‘rushed’ feeling of the original dstlk, that and one other significantly needed addition to the roster…)
If anything, DSTLK PSX would just tarnish the brand. People will buy it, play it for 5 minutes, “THIS IS GAY!!!/THIS NOT MML3” then move on.

Edit: Darkstalkers 1 is like Galaxy Fight the characters are great the music is great but the game play is a horrible mess.

I am a little unfamiliar with the english versions. Which Vampire Savior would that be or are they seriously going to not give us Vampire Savior and give us the first game in the series?

Vampire Hunter = Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
Vampire = Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
I think they’re trying to do an anticipatory buildup (duh) but surely they could skip the first.

Yes, it’s the first game.
First game = Vampire / Darkstalkers
Second game = Vampire Hunter / Night Warriors (This one never had a PS1 port.)
Third Game = Vampire Savior / Darkstalkers 3 (Only the PS1 version used the “Darkstalkers 3” title, the arcade version was called “Vampire Savior” worldwide)

Well, I guess i’ll probably get it anyway. The series needs as much support as it can get.
