DarkStalker power levels, SFers, and BB Hood

I’ve been heavily pondering the argument of exactly where Street Fighter character fall on the DarkStalker power rankings. I’ve been trying to look at official statements on both and I do understand that S class DS characters can wipe out the tier 1 SFers with little trouble. (1) Class S (Lord)
have ability to reign over the Makai.
In other words, the three lord of Makai:
Berial Aensland
Garunan Bosital
Jedah Dohma

Berial is classified S+ and is by far the more stronger than other 2 lords.

(2) Class A (Noble)
mainly are the present masters we call Makai Noble.
Demitri is a member of Class A Makai Noble (But, after banishment from Makai, he was demoted to B+ Class).

We call in the following person Makai 7 Noble. They look for the three S Class lord’s trend for chance.

Lepe family
present master: Persimmon De Lepe (male)
is Lord of Gilala Gila, where there is the gate, that connects Makai and the human world. He is the most senior next Aensland in the Makai.

Maximov family
present master: Demitri Maximov (male)
is a young ambitious person, who fought against Berial. He lost the battle, was banished to the human world, and revived after a hundred years.

Hartland family
present master: Gregorio Hartland (male)
is the most lady-killer of the Makai. He is served by women and is enjoy every day. Confidential Mejeena is his powerful staff officer and an absolute servant.

Croits family
present master: Zel Croits (male)
is opposed to Hartland family. He is a rough. He has wyvern and looks different from human being.

Gray family
present master: Thomas Gray (male?)
is a collector in Makai. He has various items. Hannya and Kien originally are his.

Gilman family
present master: Sierra Do Gilman (female)
is a Makai philosopher. She wrote: the Beginning of Darkness, Me and Makai, and a lot of books. She is fluent in 78 languages, controls 1,400 spells.

Funechika family
present master and honorary teacher of martial art: Ed Funechika (male)
is a group of fighter. Present master Ed is a holder of 666th grade in Makenpou. They have so respect for spirit nature that to apt to look down actual battle nature.

  • Emperor Ozomu’s rank is about Class A+.

(3) Class B+ (Soldier)
have special abilities. They are soldiers who use stronger power than standard. We call them Darkstalkers.
There are 10,000 soldiers in all over the Makai.

  • Player characters who appear in the game are classified as this class.

(4) Class B (Citizen)
are inferior to Class B+ practically. Almost all the residents of the Makai are classified as this class.
The total of residents are 6 million.

(5) Class C (Slave)
is servant class. They are treated as Class A and B’s workers or domestic animals. Economy of Makai can’t be hold good without them. Human beings who come the Makai by accident are classified as this class. The total are about 120 million.

(6) Class D (Beast)
is inferior Makai Beast. We call living things which aren’t human type Makai Beast generically. Though inferior, but some beast can understand language and form a society. Also, there are 2,000 Makai Beast that have equal power of Class B+. Hannya and Kien are classified as this class and have equal power of Class B+. The total of kinds exceed 30 billion.

Okay, I’ve been staring at this and I’m seriously thinking that the Tier 1 and 2 characters in Street Fighter are class B+. They seem to fit most of the criteria (special powers, could theoretically beat a group of top ranking armed guards, etc). The other thing is that BB Hood is a playable character and thus considered B+ class. And she’s “just” a human with guns though she is literally feared by most DarkStalkers. I’m starting think that’s the reason why Ryu was paired with Jon Talbain in the CFE ending. A non canon confirmation of comparitive power level.

Pyron being beat by Donovsn was only in the anime. In the REAL storyline it was by Demitri. If you look around the site more you will see a bit more into this. I was hoping a few of the more informed members (Sano, Tiamat) would look at this thread.

Isn’t it just ridiculous that Anakaris is only a class B+? You’d think he’d be much higher after burying an entire Egyptian city beneath the earth, with little or no effort. That’s beyond anything Akuma’s ever done. And Akuma still had to concentrate his energy before splitting Ayer’s Rock in half, or destroying the island in A2.

Anyway, there’s no doubt that Pyron as an entity > everything, so where do you suppose Demitri stands now that he’s beaten him? He did absorb Pyron, didn’t he?

And on a somewhat related note, would the Warzard characters all fit in class B as well, player characters AND bosses?

Ah, since I was asked to join this Thread (usually I’m asked to leave, LOL!)

Bulleta/BB Hood is not just a human with guns. She is a human with a ‘Darkstalker Heart/Soul.’ That’s why Jedah pulled her into his realm in Vampire Savior. Why she has a Darkstalker Soul in the first place I have no idea, but anyone that can make soldiers appear from a tiny little red cloak and can cry the spirit of her Granny isn’t exactly a normal human.

I think DS vs. SF is kind of subjective since DS while serious in story is kind of like Looney Tunes. Set the characters on fire they are Okay in the next frame. (OK, Sfers and all Anime/Manga/Game characters are like this too since I’ve yet to see someone in KOF scarred with burn marks or anyone who faces Dhalsim enter a Burn ward…) Cut them in half and they are back all sowed up. Punch them hard and their eyes bulge out of their skull. Run over on them and they are flattened like paper but they will get better, etc. While the DS story is super complicated and serious, they themselves are kind of silly…

That being said, I think SFers being B is a maybe, C and lower is more accurate IMHO. B+, no way. Gill can ‘create’ Fire. Pyron is Fire. Pyron was defeated by Demitri. Gill can create Ice and freeze you at sub zero temperatures but so can Sasquatch and the DSers that face him can continue to fight on. Gouki can send you to Hell for one second, but for many of the DS characters he would actually be doing them a favor and giving them a free trip back home. :rofl: Oro lived for 150 years, so he’s a child in the minds of many Darkstalkers that live 300 +. Yes, Gouki can destroy mountains and islands, so that is impressive. Still, when you have Pyron who destroyed entire planets and was defeated by Demitri who is considered to be weaker than Anita, Jedah, and Morrigan (after she combines with Lilith only) Gouki’s a joke in comparison.

Still, If the Sfers are B+ or B it’s kind of subjective. You have to ask yourself, “Which beyond Human act do you personally think is greater?” It’s kind of like asking who’s stronger, Gill, Oro or Gouki. But me, - and this is just my opinion is all - I still see SFers as B and lower. The B Class in DS is said to be able to single handedly defeat an Army of Marines. That’s about SF Level right there, definitly Tier 1 (Gouki, Gill, Oro, SFZ3 Vega/Cape) and maybe Tier 2 (SF2 Vega/Cape, Ryu, SNH Ryu, Sagat and possibly Q).

Oh yeah, back when SVC Chaos was the game we where waiting for and talked about a lot, some people where asking who was stronger, Tessa/Tabasa or Demitri. Saiki (The leading internet expert on SF, DS, Sam Sho and just about every 2D Fighter’s storyline, the SF Plot Guide exists because of him, he wrote the DS and Samsho Plot Guides at Gamefaqs, etc.) said it was too difficult to compare Warzard to Darkstalkers since they are kind of similar.

All I’ll add to that is on one hand you have a witch and a Lion Person, on the Darkstalker side you have every other kind of Monster, it’s really tough to call since it’s extremely hard to gauge Mukuro’s(Keiji) and Mi Ling’s strength seeing on how it’s just one game and we don’t even know who won the Warzard Tourney between the four. Leo’s the leading candidate since he’s the main character, but both of his endings imply he either becomes a human or a Lion, so him winning means he won’t be our Leo anymore. WELL, since I doubt there will ever be a Warzard Sequel, it’s not so far off after all. Still, Sequels usually tell us who won the last Tourney and without one we kind of don’t know what’s up with Warzard.

But yeah, Warzard takes place on an Apocalyptic Earth, to survive there you have to be really tough, so I think the 4 Warzard characters are DS strong otherwise they would of gotten slain some time ago. Don’t know about Ling though, she doesn’t look tough, maybe she’s just lucky…

Pyron is not fire. He’s a big blob of psychic/cosmic energy that’s either manifested as fire, or just really really hot to touch. Like a star.

Beating that, I figured by now Demitri should’ve regained his strength after his 100 year hiatus and then some. Maybe as strong as Belial when he was still alive.

Right, C Class. Ooops… So SFers don’t stand a chance in hell of getting to B+ class, B, maybe…

BTW, here’s Saiki’s list of the most powerful characters in Darkstalkers.

  1. Anita, Shintai/Fetus
  2. Jedah, Morrrigan(If she gets her third part back)
  3. Morrigan (in her current state fused with Lilith)
  4. Demitri
  5. Donovan, Pyron

In the comic, it looks like they did away with Morrigan’s third part in the Zero Issue so Morrigan can only get Lilith back and not her third part in the comic. She was supposed to have two parts removed from her at birth and not just Lilith. Well, since I doubt Capcom will make a storyline sequel to DS, (I think the new DS Game will be something like the PSP Version of Darkstalkers, but I HOPE I’m wrong…)might as well do away with the third part since I doubt Capcom will ever address it.

And that what I’m wondering because of fluctuations in the DSers themselves. It’s pretty obvious that Felicia, Jon Talbain, and Rikou are far from someone like Donovan in strength. They obviously couldn’t touch any of the S or A classers. At the same time Felicia, Jon, and Rikou can’t karate chop mountains in half, summon fire and ice from the sky, or uppercut an asteroid. That’s part of my curiousity.

Also, is Demitri now 100% immune to vampire weaknesses now or is he just at an advanced state where those weaknesses would need to be so concentrated that it isn’t worth it? I was specifically pondering Gill’s Seriphic Wing in case you’re wondering. I’m also trying to figure out HOW Demitri could beat Pyron considering that he has no physical form.

I haven’t played DS3 so exactly how is Anita’s power displayed? And who is Shintai/Fetus?

‘Uppercut an Asteroid’ - You mean Shin Gouki? Chances are the Shin Gouki in CFJ is the Shin Gouki in CVS2. He has the same exact Kanji on his back and that news lady from CVS2 is in his ending two. So weither he is -

A. Gouki who killed Rugal, absorbed Orochi force, or -

B. Gouki who somehow regenerated himself in God Rugal’s body

  • He still has ‘Orochi Power’ from the look of things. I’m not sure the SF Series Gouki can destroy an Asteroid by flying up there like he did… But it wouldn’t be that surprising if he could since he’s… Gouki and all. He’s usually shown doing Godlike stuff in his ending.

The Shintai/Fetus is that big baby in Jedah’s background when you fight him as a Boss he is trying to awaken.

Anita being that strong - It’s mostly just Capcom’s word. I don’t think she’s done anything to show how powerful she is, but since she is the only character Jedah fears can take down the Fetus, that’s why she’s listed as being so strong.

From what most people say, Demitri’s a Vampire, he sucked/absorbed Pyron. Kind of like what happens in Morrigan’s ending in DS 1, but not with a kiss, a big old bite to the neck. And this was before Midnight Blisses were created so none of that Demitri turning Pyron into a girl stuff…

Demitri has no weaknesses. Not even sunlight. That Aura that floats around him in the games protects him from that. Garlic, Stakes, Crusifixes, none of that works on him. I suppose the only way to kill him is to hack him up into tiny microscopic pieces or something, but chances are you’ll be dead before you even think about that idea.

  • But even before this, there was an “All About Darkstalkers Fan Site” that was… written in ‘Engrish’ but you could understand it and it contained info straight from the All About Darkstalkers Books.

Lastly, Capcom USA really didn’t butcher DS’s storyline the way they did SFs, so you can find out a lot just by playing the Games. Not to mention the two Strategy Guides put out by Versus Books are excellent in telling you the character’s backstories. The only problem in the US is that you will have trouble finding out about the DS classes and families and so forth, unless you check the above Link or any Sites that discuss them.

Anita = Franklin Richards - I don’t think Anita can create an Entire Alternate Earth like Franklin Richards can, but to be super powerful in Marvel you gotta take it to an unbelievable level. So, in terms of ‘ubber powered kiddies’ yeah, I’d rank Anita up with Franklin Richards. Note that if Frank taps into his full potential he would destroy Anita IMHO. No one in DS can create planets, that’s the stuff of Marvel’s Beyonder right there. Oh, and… the Man Upstairs some of us beleive in…

True, true. However, doesn’t he have to make a conscience (though admittedly easy) effort to produce the aura? I’m sorta playing thoery fighter here but if someone (Jedah, Morrigan) managed to beat the crap out of him in the daytime, wouldn’t he be unable to form the aura and thus die in the sun?

Heh, to think that Demitri probably just chomped on Pyron humors me.

Good question. I think his aura is like a continuos spell, I don’t think it requires any thought to maintain at all. That’s my guestimate, I really don’t know the answer to this one. But yeah in ‘Theory Fighter’ I suppose you can say that it relies subconsious thought in an unofficial Fan Fic or something. It’s better then that Hong Kong SVC Chaos comic where he ran from sunlight, ooh…
