Aren’t people gonna behave the way they want to regardless of what the community wants to see? DP wants to bring drama to it, it’s technically within his right to…and since we all pay attention to it then we don’t really have a place to say “No more please, it’s ruining the community”. It’d been just as easy to totally ignore that video he made right?
But instead, the matter were exacerbated, and now it’s entertaining and the end that’s pretty much what this comes down to. Face it, people are entertained by drama, any hint of it can bring scores of people to attention, everyone wants to know what someone said about someone else and how that someone else is gonna answer back.
This is totally how hollywood and the music industry play up those celeb rivalries, except now it’s happening in a medium where people can’t continuously talk shit through interviews with magazines or on their albums, they either gotta sit down and scrap or back off and be labeled a weenie/punk-ass shit disturber. S’pretty amusing.
I don’t really care one way or the other, but fair warning, shit like this always gets out of hand if supported for too long.
Because without hype, the scene is basically about meeting up for a few games and then going home after a set. That’s it. A little hype can go a long way. That’s why nobody hasn’t seen anything like this since WC vs. EC back in the day. There were rivalries and all that funky jazz that made it worthwhile.
Why do you think the Yankees and Red Sox get sold out stadiums? Because of the drama. Did you NOT see the 2003 ALCS? Nothing but HATE. And that’s what fueled a great series of games. All the drama for the past HUNDRED years was building up to that 2003 ALCS and EVERYONE went home happy.
That’s why tennis and golf is a boring sport. There IS no drama to hype things up. And in this case, you have DP: who is bringing hype to the scene so far. Sure, it’s one person, but that’s enough to turn heads. As long as nothing gets too out of hand and stays within the confines of the money match, then all is good.
