Here’s is one of the many throw combos I do thanks to Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast assist. IMO, I think Repulsor Blast is one of the best assist for Dante.

I’v only played around with it in vanilla but Dante W/ Repulser Blast felt pretty OD, especially for the incoming mixup.

Yeah, it’s really good for incomings. Also really great for blockstrings since it can’t be pushblocked.

Also, can anyone tell me if this is actually useful? And if so, is it even worth it?

Eyugh 4 bars for only 800k? I wouldnt even bother.

you could do it in situations where IronMan won’t kill with the normal follow up after Iron Avenger. like off a throw or something. Nothing groundbreaking but a neat little trick to have in your bag nonetheless.

I don’t have my console on me but you should be able to TAC since everything resets after a hard tag right?

edit: nope totally useless, still cool though.

Hard Tag does not reset scaling. It resets some damage scaling off throws, but doesn’t remove hitstun scaling.

That combo/extension will not work off anything other than a direct hit iron avenger. Dante can’t even link into TAC or combo off launchers/setup launchers after a certain hitstun value in the first place.

Hey guys,

I’ve uploaded a Dante tutorial for newcomers looking to execute dante combos, but are maybe a little intimidated by 45min combos :wink:

Although most of the combos in this video have bald cancels in them, I still feel that these are very practical for newcomers and hope you can appreciate my breakdowns etc.

I’m still learning Dante myself so go easy

note - I haven’t included any air play combos because this is strictly for beginners or people trying to learn practical online combos

Why don’t any of you use more lightning in your DT combos? It seems really damaging, or is that only because of x-factor?

I find that it scales your combo to early. Lightning has a lot of hits so it brings down the minimum damage scaling really quickly. Its fine at the end of a combo, but during the start I dont recommend.

I mainly use things like lightning and vortex as tools for running away, zoning and/or chipping. But that’s just me.

Yea I guess since they are such good neutral tools, they don’t really need to be good combo tools. I just really hate how devil trigger combos look almost exactly like his regular combo’s if you get what I mean, no flight combo’s, very little lightning or vortex use, but oh well, no biggie.

I know how you feel, and don’t get me wrong in high level clutch situations that extra damage boost you get in devil trigger WILL make a difference trust me on that, but it always erks me when I see a Dante player who still treats devil trigger like it’s the answer to everything, when this far along into the meta-game it is clearly not, rather than going for that extra bit of damage with million dollars, or just conserving your meter for a more well thought out game plan.

Devil Trigger sees a lot of use from me though, no lies. I just can’t get enough of re-adjusting/getting a breather from all the derp with flight and plinked air dashes. Even more so since triple jump - fly - call assists is hilarious.
