For those of you who play dante frank i have found a Dante corner combo that can level up frank to level 4 without meter. The timing can be tricky for the dante assist to recover but if you just do it early you get level 3 anyway and i believe if you have another assist that you could use it should be easyer. 275k damage before super with 2 of the better combo extension assists, that’s heart breaking.

So I tried this out yesterday and my ass kept getting hit by the slash, maybe my plinks weren’t on point or something but I was extremely disappointed when I kept getting slashed rather rapidly.

Ah yes after rewatching the video I was definitely messing up my inputs because I didn’t even get the pushblock, just whiffed :h:'s sometimes. Gotta get on practicing that.

It’s hard to point on specifics about this video. But I feel you should work on your gameplan/screen control/movement.
You are a bit to static, you don’t use your options to cancel whiffed normals into specials (j.H Air Play or M to teleport). Again it’s hard to describes it, but watch some of Yipes play with Dante (final against ChrisG) and watch your game. Do it several times and I’m sure you’ll get your answer.

because you never got an SSS ranked combo in DMC before…that might be it. seriously though that’s how i’m thinking how you have to play this character

It’s so weird, I’m always optimizing and trying to find his upper bound on damage and meter gain for what I can do with him, but I feel like I kinda robbed myself by not just going all in and figuring out what combos into what on the fly versus scientifically.

I kinda felt the same way too; like for instance, the second combo with the acid rain + chris assist, I originally thought that double volcano’s was the most damaging, but after realizing that the acid rain gives me enough time to pull out the second volcano anyway, I added in a hammer after the second volcano, and regardless of the damage scaling from acid rain, it ended up doing more damage. The most damaging however would’ve been a difficult volcano into million carats, then stinger into the volcano/beehive. It’s difficult to get the million carats early enough to get the opponent high enough, so I realized also that a straight up beehive after million carats would be easier. But compared to the volcano -> hammer, it ends up being less damaging, so I omit the million carats and go for the safer hammer.
