since were talkin bout dankuu crossin up, jus wanna say i had a similar situation to clydebyrd where i did smp to lk dankuu and it crossed up a crouching dictator.
edit: Had hk dankuu cross up against crouching ken when i cancled crouching mk into hk dankuu…
I was seriously in the lab working on Danku cross up stuff. Danku has some odd properties on who it will cross up and how. I’ve figured out a few.
For all of the Danku cross ups the opponent must be ducking.
E-Honda: Freestanding Danku (spacing must be perfect) or st/cr.lp xx lp.Danku will cross up in corner. lp must hit in order to xx cross up but freestanding Danku in corner will land everytime if ur point blank. Only thing I was able to do out of it is, cr.lp xx lp.Danku > ex.KRK > FADC > U2.
Rufus: st.MP xx Hk.DK will only cross up on hit. No other way to cross up. Hitbox too low.
Akuma: Can cross up a freestanding lk.Danku. cr.MP xx lk.Danku will cross up everytime.
these two are actually really really useful, especially in typical dankuu mix ups/frame traps. Good work! i will look into more as well.
Question bout honda; the lp has to hit, but lp to dankuu isnt a combo, so it just crosses up after? If the lp is blocked it wont cross up?
Still, cross up dankuu is such a good tool no one expects. The only people who will know about it will be people you play very often and even after they learn it, then they will have to worry bout normal dankuu as well
None of the DK cross ups are combos except for the Rufus one, its just flash. It is good that they don’t though because if it did combo, that would just mean the damage is guaranteed anyways so the cross up is kinda pointless as you already would have been comboing them. I think the only Danku cross up that would be able to be used so far is the Akuma one as it will cross up on hit or block.
I think when Honda takes a hit while ducking his hit box must shrink just a tiny bit more than if he’d block. So if you do cr.lp xx Danku and he blocks you won’t be able to clear him. Even if he is in the corner and you try it still wont clear. In short, this is freeakin’ hard to land in an actual fight because you have to be point blank on Honda in the corner with him turtleing and guarding low on wake up. He would never do such a thing. In this situation you’d propably end up eating lp xx HHS if you are trying to battle Honda on jab cancels.
See if anything works on Rog. cr.MK is very good vs him on wakeup so you could condition him to duck on wake even though his Roggness already has him holding d/b on wake. If there is someone that would be able to be abused by a short hop cross up tactic, I think this would be the guy.
I really don’t understand at all how this is crossing up, when, and how. Totally confused now.
I was able to do it on Bison and Cody in matches today. I lined it up, and just did it. Then when I went into training mode to replicate it wouldn’t work at all.
I watched the inputs and it shows him also mashing db.lp. When I went into training mode I could not once cross up either with them mashing db.lp or just d.lp. If they hold db they will always get the block or you will hop over without cross up.
I’m still trying stuff out because I do think there is something here. While it would just be another Dantick I think it would be nice little move to have in the Saikyo bag of tricks.
I just skimmed a thread in the Ken section about an unblockable setup that he has that CANNOT be replicated in the training room. The computer can block it but not a human…
Too hungover to read this thing… http://shoryuken.com/f259/updated-again-kens-unblockable-jump-fp-mk-videos-both-244023/
Thanks. Hard to open up Rog. Especially Poems. He just builds a lot of meter on my offense which gets him out of a lot of shit. Least i don’t get hit by ultra setup anymore haha.
Dash in Hk danku or Ex danku for standard Dan shenanigans.
Dash in lk danku, which whiffs, allowing you to do more shit.
I have no idea what the frame data on this actually is, but it seems like it’s actually easier to get in on a Blanka than I previously thought. Gadoukens also seem pretty useful for stuffing blanka balls as they seem to have pretty lenient timings.
I don’t know about the dash in; even for Stripfighter it doesn’t seem to work reliably as a punish, but it does take away the reset for Blanka, leaving him right next to us for the shedanigans to continue.
Ive noticed in general tho dashing foward is very unsafe
I used to follow up almost every knockdown with a dash in-> something and then I started getting reversal’d or ultrad even when I did dash in -> crouch block
A dash-in > Danku after blocking a Blanka ball is unsafe, Blanka can immediately do another ball to smack you out of it. That said, the actual dash part is safe and free, so you should always dash forward after blocking the ball, as that pushes Blanka closer to the corner where he’s trapped and has less advantages. Just be careful with what you do after the dash. There’s nothing wrong with doing a Danku sometimes, as not every Blanka will know they can just Ball again to knock you out of it. Have other things in mind for those cases where it fails, is all.
yeah, and even if they do know ball is safe, you can block ball dash foward block ball dash foward till they are in the corner…i think the chip damage is worth the positioning!
