Most people I fight lose to Dan simply because they don’t know how to deal with his mixup-dependant game or fail to realize how powerful playing keep-away is against him. Abel isn’t a good example to use in this argument either, since it’s arguably Dan’s best matchup.
A simple roll taunt that can act as an evassive dodge/roll cancel would be awesome.
He’s definitely better than he was in the Alpha series but he has potential to be ALOT better than how Capcom makes him.

Yeah. That series proved that Dan can be powerful and still be a fun character.
I totally agree. I think Zangief is a good matchup too until he realizes he can punish basically everything dan does lol.
I think giving him safer ways of getting close to opponent without having to rely so much on jumpins/crossups would be nice. A move to go through fireballs would be nice. And a few more links would help.
Hmm what if they made dankicks immune to crouching attacks…
Hey what improvements do you guys think would help Dan in specific matchups I.E. Honda, Balrog, C. Viper, etc.
OK I have some ideas:
Ryu/Ken/Akuma - make air dan knee trade with late DP
Honda - EX dankicks punish headbutt
Blanka - EX dankicks punish ball
Balrog - maybe air dan knee trade with headbutt?
Sagat - super jump?
Fireball Spam - make fireball faster, add special thats immune to fireball
I don’t see the point in making his fireball suck. Yeah I know it’s supposed to be a cute “see dan sucks” thing but they can accomplish that through animations (like how he sucks at throwing) rather than just making his gameplay suffer.
We all know what Dan needs. Make air lk.Danku an ambiguous cross-up. Boom, Crimson DANper.
Instead of turning it into a true projectile they should make it more powerful and improve the recovery off of it. Make it a comical take on the Hadouken that is, at the same time, it’s own move.
Dont mean to DEMAND it, im saying that it would be the absolute ideal situation and it would be jawdropping awesome if the game was like that! Its a dream, a dream that capcom should work towards. And dan should be viable
And since i buy street fighter games and support capcom products i do think i have ground to stand on to expect them to work towards providing a better game for all of us.

Give him a roll that works like Abel’s, except he taunts during it, improve his normals and make his new Ultra comboable, and we’re set!
Edit: One more thing: Make his air taunt have no recovery whatsoever. That’d make it real useful; especially against fireball happy people.
Gadouken already recovers faster than Ryu’s Hadouken, in fact the LP version recovers so fast that you can link a s.LP (or other 4 frame move) after it in the corner. The only problem with the Gadouken is with the hit boxes of his arm it makes him punch other projectiles rather than cancelling them out, even trades with people’s pokes.
More damage would be nice, but it’s highly unlikely
That makes sense… I have been countered a couple of times while using the Gadouken, I chalked it up to poor recovery, now I see that it is more an issue with the hit box… Interesting, and thank you for the info.

-Make all his FDACs a run until the player puts stick on neutral. (look at that cute Dan run?
-EX Taunt that is imune to everything and gives small stock to the opponent.
4 EX Taunt in the round=10% more damage
-Dan kicks counters low sweeps
-Random huge gadokens (no extra damage)
-EX Gadoken chargable and 1 hit focus armor.
Full charge-3 hit gadoken
2nd Charge-2 hit gadoken
1st Charge is a slap with a flash

What I would really like are improved normals. heck, Sean was bottom tier but at least he had his normals. I could play a better dan if his normals were sped up a bit.
Being able to C.HP a jump in would be nice for me. I hate the start up on that thing. Crouching lk could start up a bit faster. Just with that id be able to do a little bit more. I only play Dan when i get him in random select but it feels like im playing underwater when i use those normals.
I want a slight damage buff or a huge stun buff to his normals. Keep em slow if you have to but I want them to hurt.
