I’ve been having the same thing, can’t get it to work point blank range but can always hit it after say, s.HP xx SRK. I just use it for big flashy punishes now.
I’ll chock it up to my mastery of the Keyboard then. It makes dashing and QCFs easysauce.
Maybe you guys aren’t dashing out of the Koryuken fast enough. You should be doing it fast enough that you can’t even see his arms come up.
I get the feeling I’m doing it too fast, it looks like the first hit of the Dankuu is whiffing straight through them and then nothing shrug I’d much rather do nj.MP anyways, easier ^^;
Actually I was finding it pretty easy against Akuma today, might have been a character specific thing or maybe I just got better at it. Speaking of character specific glitches HP xx KRK whiffs on Akuma…
Forgive if this has been mentioned but I’ve had some luck jumping in on people that abuse their FA as an AA when I have Ultra meter. They absorb my aerial attack and their FA misses due to invincibility frames on the Ultra.
Yeah but it’s not Dan specific Someone with a good back dash might be able to punish that if they don’t release the attack and dash out of it early but probably not
Has anyone listed AA LP Koryu->HK Dankicks?
I think I’ve found a new combo (didn’t see it posted in the OP) it works on Bison but I don’t know if it works on anyone else.
It’s: j.MK (crossup or high hit) > cs.MP > cs.MP > LK/HK Dank or HP Gadouken. Apparently it’s possible to get 2 Close Standing MP on Bison, but again, I don’t know if it works on anyone else.

I think it’s a 1-Frame link, like most of Dan’s better shenanigan combos, but this one deals great damage, 292 with HK Dank, 240+ with LK Dank to EX Koryuken.
Well, I’ve started testing it. Anyone who wants to help just post characters you can make it work against below. HK may work where MK doesn’t, simply because it leaves them in their reeling animation for longer, which effects how far Dan is pushed back by his first s.MP.
Standing:
M.Bison - J.HK, J.MK
El Fuerte - J.HK, J.MK
Crouching:
Akuma - J.HK
El Fuerte - J.HK, J.MK
Vega - J.HK, J.MK
E. Honda - J.HK
None of these seem to work on a crossup. The one’s with both J.HK and J.MK listed probably have the least strict window. Those with just J.HK listed you need to hit as deep as possible. Will update as I find them.

I just realized that this means any FADC’d Gadouken that hits in the corner combos into “s.MP > s.MP xx [Whatever]”
So you should be able to cr.MK xx Gadouken FADC s.MP > s.MP xx Gadouken FADC s.MP > s.MP xx HK Danku.

I think Dan’s highest damage combo is 567; j.HK > c.HP xx EX Gadouken xx FADC > Shissou Buraiken, see if you can find better

Could somebody give me the skinny on exactly how safe this is? Basically one of my main tactics against Shotos (and others really) is to jump over a projectile knowing I’m being setup for a sweep, so I perform a psychic Ultra. I’m completely ignorant of the specifics of the SF4 engine (other games as well) and I’m just getting to the level that having that knowledge will help my game, so here are a few things I need clarification on:
Can you be swept when you are airborne?
Are there invincibility frames as you transition from airborne to grounded?
How about recovery?
Also what is the deal with performing a move just before landing, an animation begins, is interrupted by landing and another move happens immediately after you land?

Probably but it’s tight, if you consider the low hit-box of the c.HK then it’d be anywhere from the top of that hit box to just above the ground but most likely will only hit you as you land.

Recovery I’m a little sketchy on but essentially if you don’t attack then there isn’t a single attack you can’t block once you’re on the ground, therefore you can “instantly” go into an invincible move to punish the predicted sweep.
Again not too sure about it but if the attack is done late then landing basically cancels the recovery of it.
Still, it’s incredibly risky as you’re betting they’ll sweep you on landing, if they don’t then you’re free for punishment I did it against a Sagat once, purposely jumped out of his f+HK range and Ultra’d on landing, fun stuff
