Thats all good and all, but your advice is wrong. Saying Dan should tiger knee in the air will set him up for horrible abuse from Capcom. Yeah, it doesnt sound to good now, does it? AND, his jab Hadoken is based on the fact that you’ll LAND IT!! Of course he has lag when not connected, so I OBVIOUSLY WOULDNT ADVISE THAT. Dan has no range!!! Saying his roundhouses will somehow affect the opponent is wrong. While hes kicking, you most likely are thinking ahead for your DEFENSE. YOU SHOULDNT DO A MOVE THAT MAKES YOU THINK ABOUT DEFENSE AFTERWARDS, SIMPLE AS THAT. Of course if you assist, its alright, but Dan is tough, SO I DONT PLAY CHEAP WITH HIM. And if you say his Shinku connects all the way, why wouldnt his uppercut do the same? They have the same properties pretty much. You only have to jab once, then uppercut. It connects, because it pulls them in a way. You listed all of my “subpar” advise, but you really dont understand how to play with Dan. Just think of Dan like on any SF series, its all about jabs. On Mvc2, Ken/Ryu/Akuma heck…even Sakura all base their attacks on jab startups, so Dan follows the trend, you just have to be more careful. AND THE TAUNT IS A SUPER WELL…ITS A HYPER COMBO FINISH, WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH A SUPER IN THE GAME’S EYES. I play with all characters, and Dan is someone you have to be really patient with in battles. Ive played casuals with Dan/Akuma/Ken, and have won. Hes the slowest of em’, but is about as strong as them(as far as supers…), and you winning at tourneys with your tactics, mean either you cheaped it (Like with Doom and all that shit) or you played scrubs. GREAT!! I HAVE REAL MVC2 PLAYERS HERE!! I know youre right, dude. I just joined this group, and I wanted to pull people’s strings a little. Its a difference in style, thats all. I like to play Dan semi-aggressive, while the other guy seems to be more reliant on his assist. If you think about it, his assist are not really going to do much, since he alone has moves that either have to be cancelled into, or countered into. Doom assist will do what? Chip away, while Dan knees all over the place, looking like a wussy. Good assist are Ken/Ryu/Akuma anti-air assist. Since most likely Dan will be the ground fighter against his opponent, these assist are very useful. Using Doom’s assist just makes your opponent think more about how to eliminate Doom. And on top of that, Dan is too slow to really capatalize off of Doom’s assist. He really cant add to the damage, so your opponent will zoom in on Doom, since they dont fear any of Dan’s retaliation moves. Beaten Doom, means beaten Dan, means beaten team. Once you get rid of Doom, Dan becomes very vulnerable, because hes lost one of his key assist. I just wanted to see who knew their Mvc2, and apparently, you guys know a lot. Ive practiced with Dan specifically for peps like Sent/Mags/Cable. To this point, he is still getting abused, but Im always suprised at how opponents are somewhat intimidated by him. Dan/Ken/Ryu or Akuma is a pretty good squad. Its a message to all the wannabe top-tier players, who are scared to venture out and explore other combinations. Stay cool peps…L8=_+

Like mummy wraps and crouching jabs? That sounds like pretty good advice to me. If youre the guy I debated with about Anak vs Sent, then I can respect yas, you know about Anak. But you cant deny the tactics that I advised you with against Sent. You said that Sent will have a easy time avoiding wraps, but havent you seen Anak grab Sent out of his Missles? I know you have…Thats what I was pretty much advising you to add to your game. I know hes weak, so I wouldnt advise doing shit that will leave him open. And, if youre a novice Anak player, then you really shouldnt be bad mouthing advise when you dont know about some of his tactics. Ive played peps with him, against Sent and all. Most are aggressive, so mummy wrap will neutralize that aggressiveness. C’mon, you know thats true, so why would you make it like Im scrubbing in here?

what does sents drones/HSF even have to do with a mobile sent? which is what we were talking about. of course wraps are going to grab a sent that does point blank drones and has no mean of avoiding it. please think of what you are posting.

Dan is hero IMO
The reason he is pretty cool to play with is because he brings back the origin of the combo. With crap range, and horrific dash, youre forced to work on your combos. His small tiger knee is good for bait. What I mean is, if you do it with an assist (Sakura dash type) you can sneek in a cr.j then hadoken. Its a good tactic for what he has at his disposal, which is limited. Another thing thats cool to do, is his taunt. It builds meter!!! And, it actually builds meter more than a simple punch or kick. Its all for the level 3 baby!!! If you use Ken’s exp type, that gives you time to build meter with his taunt. I try to get 2 in before they get up. If they dont roll of course…
Dan/Sakura/Ken
This is a cool team, cause all of them have strong personalities, which your opponent can kinda tell how you plan to play with em’, SHOW OFF!!! With Dan first, work on ground combos like sweeps and jab/hadokens, these are tactical and essential to Dan’s aresenal. Be very patience, to counter opponents with (IMO) Rekka (uppercut). People think it doesnt connect flush most of the time. But it actually does connect, if the positioning is right. I usually do a cr.j then go into it, which even though the jab pushes them away a little, the uppercut sucks them back to you for the last hit (meat of the move). I like the damage, and its so cool to hear him scream at the end. Ive done the move on Sentinel, and it pulls him back, even though it seems the first punch pushes away. So, out of the supers, I think this one is the main one to use. It takes 29 total damage on Sentinel, and 41 on Magneto. His other supers are harder to connect with, mainly a reason why I only use them in dhc or cross-over counters (jump to the other side avoiding super). His level 3 is awesome, but of course hes dead basically after connecting. A key with that is, once you connect it switch out. Play intelligent from that point on. A lot of people think since he has no energy left, he might as well stay out there and finish. Well, thats cool to do, but I like to save him for his anti-air assist. Of course managing him safely, it does a lot of damage. Who knows, you might be able to pull off another level 3 later on…
Dan’s a tough guy, who demands respect in the MvC2 world.

Another team to work in is Dan/Cyclops/Doom
Great chip team, and great protection for Danny boy.
Tactics with Cyclops: Well, to connect Cyclops into Dan’s play, just cr.j +Cyclops. Nice combo, and Dan has a good advantage when opponent comes back down. Of course the aerial combo +Cyclops, thats cool too. launch, hk + Cyclops, qcb+ hk. The hk in the beginning knocks them back into Cyclops, and then do the qcb+ hk after the beam hits. Takes like 50 damage on most characters. His Hisshou Baraiken (10-hitter) can connect with Cyclops also. Just cr.j w/Cyclops, then immediatley do the super. In fact, you dont have to do cr.j, you can do standing jab as well. This move is very rare in Dan stradegey, but nice combo regardless.
Tactics with Doom: As we all know, Doom is great for protecting Dan. Some easy, basic things to do is just Doom whore. Although thats not my style, its good for Dan in this case. Aside from the obvious reasons, it gives you a bigger window to connect combos. While the rocks are flying around, your opponent becomes somewhat hesitant, which you can cr.j super on occasions. A few combos-
cr.j +cr.hp, lk,lk ,small tiger knee, dummy lk + Doom. The dummy lk is basically a whiff move on purpose. When youre coming down, just dummy with lk (sometimes it connects, which is even better) and the rocks will be right after the lk. If it connects, just jump and finish the combo. Sometimes, its cool to just let them bounce up from the rocks and then wait on the ground for cr.j Rekka. So, even if they block the dummy, the chip damage is good enough.
I dont have a God Dan, but I have a good Dan to battle with. He can make a match become sluggish, because of his range and all. But the speed of the match can work in your favor, if you know how to play with him. Against Mags or Storm + Psylocke, he kinda looks stupid, getting tossed and swept and kicked all over the stage (OUCH!!!) But if you have good defense, and good assist for protection, you can gradually slow down that team, making them come back down to earth so to speak. Once youve gained a confidence against top tiers and such, work on tactics even more, to solidify that Dan is semi-hero against higher tiers. Actually, hes full hero just for being able to rumble a bit with the big boys. Hes never gonna be a nemesis of higher tiers (thats asking a lot from him), but he can be somewhat of a “Dangit, I accidentally picked Dan!!!” type of character. I think thats a good analogy to explain his value in MvC2 (vs top tiers anyway…)
