The Marginalised Person™ has possibly even decided that you’re simply too obnoxious to waste patience on and is venting their sense of frustration.This is when you whip this step out!You can use it to disregard everything they’ve said to you and just not deal with the issue, in particular ignoring your prior behaviour that led to the anger. Conventions of social conduct hold civil discourse as the ideal at all times. When people get angry, it gives you a convenient “out” without having to concede to any of their objections or acknowledge their pain.
Furthermore, with this one you can make it seem as though you were ready and willing to listen, but then they ruined it. This way you can leave them with the sense that if only they’d been a good little Marginalised Person™ and toed the line, then they may have won someone over to the cause!
It just adds a particular distaste to the whole affair that no derailing should be without!

The amount of insulting assumptions made by Bhjaddhos in such short posts, all the while claiming a higher moral ground, undermine him more than any well constructed argument could. He claims to come from an oppressed background and proceeds to make baseless claims about the character of the members here. In some way this is the problem with the “Social Justice” people; they fail to understand the inherent complexity in being just a regular member of society.
While there are cries of “White Cis Male” as if it were some type of blanket statement, there are never understandings with the pressures that come from being just that. Take for example a WCM that wants to learn about minorities. By creating an environment which is toxic to the facts they were born with, they are replicating the conditions of their oppression. This puts the SJ movements in a world filled with irony. Well, irony is the nice way to put it. Upon close examination they would be short sighted, or academically disingenuous, or just plainly hypocritical. Similarly the narrative of the WCM creates further “violence” against them because it lumps people who fit that wide criteria into an assumed background. Suddenly countless of males turn into a homogenous group impervious to any malice. This means that Beethoven’s abuse by his father, mistreatment of minority germans in the early days of American history, white youths which group in primarily black neighborhoods or impoverished eras are all the same. If they were white, “cis” and male, suddenly nothing wrong happened in their lifes and opportunity was dropped in front of them.
Taking the topic at hand, I created this thread entirely out of jest. Anita is trying to fight a war that isn’t entirely there and which won’t ever end. She is essentially trying to fight terrorism; a closer analogy would make her Big Brother to the Eurasiatic video game patriarchy which currently “exists.” It happens a tradition of male heroes somehow made its way into yet another art form. Should we be mad that women are being oppressed in video games? Or should we see this as a continuation of Odysseus coming home to save his wife from suitors, Orpheus getting Eurydice out of the underworld, the relationship with Aragon and Arwen? What value is there in mentioning a historic continuation of story telling tropes in yet another medium? The truth is that the amount of money spent making videos with little content and much bitching, could have been spent making a game whose story telling conforms to something closer to what they want. Similarly complaining about the trope tries to examine games in a vacuum. This ignores the marketing decisions which are involved in making these characters and/or storyline.
