What they did say is that there is a dearth of female main characters in games. This is true. There is no “big secret misogynist hate circle”. No sane feminist actually believes that something like exists.
What they ARE talking about, however, is how both companies and gamers don’t seem to WANT girls to be main characters? Why? Because many male gamers don’t want to play as women? Why? Because many male gamers hold sexist beliefs and don’t want to be seen as “un-manly”.
And the way to include a girl into a game without getting backlash is to simply write her in a good way. This is not that hard, but so many writers fuck it up so badly!
This is sexism, first of all, as it compares women to children, thus infantalizing them.
Second, this is an example of males being disfavored in one situation. No feminist denies that such situations exist. Most of the SANE ones (not the crazy ones you love act like are representative of the majority) are opposing those kinds of things too. They’re fighting for your rights and theirs AND YOU STILL HATE THEM.
