I’ll have my contact info up when we get close to tourney time. Feel free to ask me questions, comments, suggestions, etc. via pm, here on thread, or my aim sn nmbr3krush or contact dj_matrix.

Hope all of you can come and help make this a great and memorable tournament for us, the scene, and Texas.

If you need to call me for questions before or the day of the tourney my cell is 254-733-0292.

Any SNK events allowed?

Ill see whats up, if theres a demand for it.

Bump for updates.

You might want to list the “address”. :woot:

you’ll have your hands full with the other tournaments…if DG wants to run his side tournaments, let him bring his own equipment, as long as it doesn’t interfere with your space for the players who came to play the games you listed.

Jon, your priorities lie in running your tournaments smoothly, and not have hiccups. Not to be rude, but top Texas players come to play the games you listed, and not Ninja Masters or Waku Waku 7.

i kid, but really, there is minimal tournament involvement for SNK games here in Texas; letting DG do his “tournaments” at your place will just devolve into ego-stroking casual play for him. it’d be a joke to have a 5-man tournament at your tournament, Jon!

Dark Geese, if you want to run your own tournaments here in Texas, get your own venue so you can do it your way, instead of leeching off of others.

real talk.

how could u forget magical drop 5

Thai funny thing is you aint running this event… Krush has already told me to come via PMs

So stay out of business that doesn’t involve you…

I’ll accept KOFXI Money matches…if you wanna cough up that free cash… :lovin:

-DG

Wow Thai, you never fail to bring the drama into our tourney threads do u?

Bottom line is, u have no say in jons tourney. He is cool with DG, and if he wants to let him do it then your bickering aint gonna stop him.

Edit: Damn it! I got beat to the punch. (damn you! EBAY!)
Buena, Lukas.

my bad. i thought it wasn’t tourney-worthy. :looney:

i’m not bickering; these are facts. side tournaments galore.

You better watch out i heard Cpu 1 has been practicing do i just give the money to the ps2 if cpu wins

This shit again. I already decieded the one snk game which will be KOF98 UM. Its just one, nothing else, no side tourney. Ill update later.

actually 98 UM is a good game, besides the broke-ass bosses.

yeah thai… this is me and johns tourney… we are holding it at my spacious venue… and there will be room for one tv with SNK in the corner… lol.

i told john to tell lukus that i want him here… sanji guy is welcome too if he wants to compete.

i know nothing about KOF games but KOF 98 (the new 2008 98 version lol) and/OR KOFXI.

which ever would draw a bigger crowd… we shall talk lukus about this. im thinking KOFXI cuz people like binh and OJ play itand i dont know if they play the others. plus Ufaust plays it or is that NGBC?

either or this shall be a decent tourney so lets make it decent.

On another note… this is not some like “BACK OF THE ARCADE HALLWAY” we are running this in.

this is my town homes CLUB house… it is really nice and has couches and shit and tables we can put TVs on… like pepsi tony watches his games… i will be watching this place as i had to put a large deposit incase it gets fucked up.

i would love to host tourneys here again as i used to host HALO all the time here back in the day with like 16tvs and 16xboxs easy…

so lets keep it clean… food and drink are allowed and there is a small kitchen to eat it in and a table outside to eat on the patio.

ST =

  • Double elimination
  • 2/3 games = 1 match format (2/3 winners, 2/3 losers):
  • losing player may switch characters on the next game, winner sticks with his character
  • no game-breaking/game-freezing glitches allowed
  • Akuma is banned

also, CCC2 has 4 additional frames of input lag, on top of everything else. AE’s O.Sagat is not his true form (hence why Binh cheeses things up with CE Sagat…lol) and ST Vega’s Wall Dive input is jacked up (charge down, press K~up).

basically it boils down to the lesser of two evils…“do we want input lag, or do we want to not have 2 characters in the game of ST?”

…don’t think about playing AE in its true form…CE Bison/CE Guile/CE Sagat devolved the game.

if that is the issues… we can run it off my little computer on a CRT monitor.

and we can also play it with DC… i think i have a copy somewhere and from what i hear DC version is perfect… ill just have to check to see if i can find it

ST runs fast so if it as to be on my PC it can be on one TV… i got a little CRT somewhere… and the converter will have to be the same for both people (pelicans).

actually, we can just burn multiple copies of the Toodles ST on the DC, if need be. but then we need DC-based joysticks; ps-dc converters will give 1 frame of input lag. that’s negligible, methinks.

emulation sounds cool, but then we would need usb-based joysticks…

i have an EX 360 stick; they work great.

So than shall I bring KOF98UM and KOFXI…Ultimate Faust plays both NGBC and KOFXI…

I’ll bring NGBC, KOF98UM and KOFXI so that can fill all the needs okay? People know about KOFXI but thing is KOF98UM is the new KOF…its gonna take time for people to be exposed to it…so I’ll bring all three games since DJ says KOFXI and Jon says 98UM and I’ll bring NGBC just in case is that cool? I’ll record casuals and stuff…

Thanks guys see you there!
