Dallas, Texas 6.2 DFW Metro area. First post updated with new info

A mortal sin.

Damn dude that sucks… The cheapest that I’m seeing right now is around $290… Check priceline and see if you can get a cheap fair from their ā€œNegotiatorā€ thing. You just input the price you want and the dates you want, and it’ll try and get as close to that price as possible. Only problem is once you say yes, you can’t get a refund.

I’m looking into these laptops. Can anyone out there give me some advice?

I can get about $600 off the price of each one

What are you using your laptop for?

They look good spec wise on paper. For the price you’re getting them for you can’t beat that deal. They’ll be lacking in actual build quality though, (a lot of the PC’s getting checked in for hardware problems at my job being Dells) so be ready for failed HDD’s and motherboard/CPU issues. Honestly, like Adnan said, it’s going to boil down to what you’ll be using them for. It’s gonna be hard to beat that price. Just make sure to back up your data a lot if you’re going to be saving important stuff to it.

Yey evo, im in thurr

I suggest being a man and buying a REAL PC. Not some pussy laptop.
Unless you need to lug that thing everywhere.

After EVO I’m dropping Cody for Ryu. That is all.

Edit: Probably Yang as well.

Stop trying to be like me Joe. Yo Ugh.

People dropping their characters for other dudes make me and Honda sick. We’re trying to set a good example for Jinichiro and you guys are all like ā€œTake the easy way out.ā€ No sir. I’ll tell you what I think about your trash Ryu, Joe. Your trash Ryu is Tristan. If your Ryu comes by on a weekday, I’ma set him by the curb.

I’m still gonna use Cody, but as of right now. The character requires more skill to win with at a high level and I don’t have that skill yet. My zoning is ass and my counter hit setups are ass as well. I have decent fundamentals but even those are weak in certain aspects. Pretty much my plan is to get good with an actual good character in the game, and then come back to Cody to incorporate that into my game. I have no chance with my current skill with Cody to do anything except maybe get out of pools at EVO and that’s a big maybe. The character is far from good and if I want to make up for his weaknesses, I have to get better at fundamentals and yo guess what, Ryu is the one character that relies on that the most lol.

tl:dr I suck at this game and in order to not suck, I want to improve my fundamentals so that I can actually use Cody and win.

I feel you Joe. I enjoy playing Gouken because of the sweet EX palm combos that lead to high dmg but unfortunately Gouken is trash. I don’t mean trash that you accumulate at home - I mean bear shit trash. If Gouken was any worse, he would be like…well I guess it doesn’t get any worse than bear shit trash. Anyway, I, like you, wanna learn a character that forces me to learn good fundamentals and I kinda wanna stay away from the twins. I’m open to suggestions as to who I should learn to play with.

Also real talk, Yun makes SSF4 less fun.

What are you plan on using the laptop for? I can help you out if you let me know what you’re trying to do with it.

It has to run AE obviously. But i really want a good portable streaming pc.

Two things… Zangief seems like a realllly good alt right now.

and WTF OMG BBQ why is it when I don’t practice at all for a good week, I become retarded when it comes down to execution :frowning:

I have it set for the week after evo. It gives me enough time to get everything laid out and for us to kick around some ideas.

Does anyone think we should have a headline fight or just some tournaments?

What games should we focus on?
