I seem to remember when i was a competitive smash player, there was this new kid named āsnipernightā¦somethingā i cant remember his full name, but for some reason it seems familiarā¦ All i remember about him is that he showed up, made a couple comments about wanting to play, then never did well in tournament. After that, i think he just disappeared.
I wonder what that sniper guy is up to nowadays, hmmā¦
Heās probably either bitching about Metaknight being banned or bitching about how long it took metaknight to be banned. Found a game that doesnāt have 50 wall grabs maximum because characters canāt deal with grabbing the wall repeatedly. You know what would help that problem? Being able to throw items downward. ā¦just saying.

I take it that was you? I played that account exactly once, as I recall you were a no AA Rose that thought Honda was cheap in either late vanilla or early super?
Lmao @ no AAs. Oh, you. In all seriousness though, I never played Vanilla and I started learning Rose in Arcade Edition after she got nerfed. I had a friend bring Vanilla over for those alts that make your eyes bleed, and I recall mostly everyone minus Sagat dying very early. Isnāt Sagat a bad MU for Honda? Vanilla must of been some kind of dark age for him.
Speaking of Rose AAs, have a funny story for you. I had an endless and Wolfrkrone came in when I was using her. It was him he had like 6000 PP and the gt was porkloafking. You know how inconsistent my connection can be, first game he goes Hakan and I had so much input I couldnāt really do anything so I get bodied. Next game connection turns to green and he goes DeeJay. Clearly labeling me a total scrub (which, Iām actually cool with) he proceeds to jump in on me 10,000 times which I respond with AAs because I could actually do something and I pretty much win that round off of him disrespecting me. Round 2, he attempts to adapt but I made many good reads and had a ridiculous life lead with him near chip death, I checkmate him with soul satelliteā¦

Honda Sagat wasnāt a good matchup by any stretch of the imagination. Hondaās Ultra only had either 6 or 8 active frames that were invincible to projectiles and due to Sagatās size a lot of Hondaās setups donāt work against him. Hondaās damage was even higher than it was in super, but Sagatās damage was retarded good. Avoiding the ultra was possible but not easy, it always felt like eventually you were just going to have to take 600 or more damage if you were in his face.
I may be thinking of somebody else if you never played Rose in super. My roommate used to play Rose and claim that Honda was an unfair matchup, around 9-1. Iād tried to explain to the guy that he was doing it wrong and needed to stop me from jumping in on him. In the end he scoured the internet and went to xbox live to find the āstrongest Rose players in Americaā and get them to play me. I, uh, donāt think he scoured very hard. At the time Saqs was generally considered the best Rose (Iām defining best as āI post a lot on SRK and people think Iām good for that reasonā) and he sucked. Anyway, I beat all the Rose players he found and then he was like, āSee? Honda wins.ā
A bit later I lost to Campbellās Rose in a Denton tourney and showed him the video of that and he claimed it was a fluke. I think thatās how the match goes if youāre as bad as I was and fighting somebody whoās a good player, but whatever.
Oh okay. I would assume Sagat still isnāt fun for Honda in 2012, but at least more tolerable with the damage nerf he got. Sagat seems like a really good contender in 2012.
And I picked Rose up out of pity actually, I remember when they announced the invincibility nerfs on her and people were speculating she would be low tier. They also messed around with hit and hurt boxes on two of her best pokes. I donāt understand the reasoning behind that, but her U2 in Super did seem a bit too good, plus you could easily mash it out. I could be wrong but it feels like they did something to the hitboxes to the orbs. They seem worse and get stuffed easier, or maybe itās placebo in 2012.
Besides that I always wanted to use Rose, sheās my favorite female Street Fighter- and sheās Italian too!
And since we are on a Rose topic, do you really think she is as bad as reflected on common tier lists? Since AE she was always listed very low, lower than Juri for example. However, I would see tourney results with her (sometimes she would be an alt, but she was still there) compared to little from Juri. Juri is underrepresented though.
Rose is an interesting character. In Super I wouldāve put her in second tier (Akuma, Cammy, 'rog being top). She had phenomenal footsies, generally didnāt have a reversal, but had a 100% free āGet off meā at least once per match. Also, I think that she was Hondaās worst match in super. Combine how hard it was to get in, the fact that combos donāt work on her, and that she has a get out of jail free ultra and it was super frustrating. Fortunately, there wasnāt a single Rose player in the states that was worth anything so who cares?
I barely played AE and never played with her, but AE Rose seemed reasonably non-threatening, but then again what good Rose player was there to test this against? Perhaps if Campbell had still been around he couldāve shown me how wrong I was about Rose but he wasnāt so whatever.
2012? Again, donāt know. What I know about the game is mostly Honda related, or known due to how much I played Super and how many things are still relevant.

My point was that itās funny that youre going to such a length to try and put down Smash. If you canāt say anything nice then why not just shut the fuck up? Unless you want to money match or actually go to something as a part of the FGC. Iād gladly show you how a āsmasherā plays.
