I don’t mind not being #1 in the states, because FFA is already above the rest of the USA in 3s, it’s like a colony of japan.
When I think of high 3s play I think of Japan, then FFA, then the rest of the usa.
To be #1 in the USA at 3rd Strike is the same to me as being #1 in Mongolia, you guys can have it.
So what box says is true, justin is #1 in USA 3rd Strike because he wins all of mongolian tournaments.
The japanese 3s players agree, they always say that FFA players are clearly above the rest of the USA at the game.
Maybe you guys are thinking, “Well why is FFA better than the rest of the USA?” It’s because of Japan; we go there a lot (i’ve been there 3 times last year, and planning to go again this winter).
Whenever we go to japan we play A LOT, and learn the japanese tactics and strategies. Then we come home to FFA and teach the rest of the FFA players there what we’ve learned from japan. By doing this we are able to keep up with the highest level of 3s (japan) while the rest of the USA falls behind.
Didn’t mean to offend anyone in this post, especially the other USA players that are my friends. I was just stating the current status of 3rd strike.

The thing is, FFA has yet to prove themselves better than the USA. Sure they’ve gotten new strategies from Japan… but they have yet to show that they can actually use them. Japan may think you guys are good, but there’s still no actual proof.
So until FFA wins 3 majors, they aren’t in any position to claim that they are better than the USA.
Just stating the current status of 3rd strike. No offense. I seriously do think you have the potential to beat the rest of the states Pyro. Just gotta attend some major tourneys stateside, that’s all.
Whats the connection between 3s and Nebraska that everyone makes jokes about? Ive been wondering this for a while.

Well, let’s have a history lesson now, shall we?
FFA vs Texas, 2003 @ Evolution – I definitely did not consider myself top 5 in TX at this time, the only reason I played was because Crow (who was a stronger player) was nowhere to be found. I played because TX needed a 5th, and Geo beat me quite convincingly both times, because he was better. I am not dissing FFA at all for their victory here.
Anyway, most people know now that I dropped Necro after Evo 2003 for Chun. I have no shame in having made her my main, because as we both know, I don’t exactly play top tier in every game. It’s just my choice in 3S. Of course, it’s understandable that you didn’t know because you weren’t playing in the tournament at Evolution. You thought you could show up late to the biggest USA tournament of the year with the tightest schedule, and you got a reality check.
Now, after failing to enter the biggest tournament in the USA, you still come back to SRK barking louder than ever about being the best. As it turns out though, you don’t become the best by claiming you’re the best on forums! I think there was another group of people that used to do this (Nebraska) but they came back down to earth and they are a cool bunch now. There is a reason that FFA is the most disrespected group of players by the rest of California. If you want people to think you’re consistently good, do it by getting 3rd at Evolution and beating one of the best Japanese Chun-Li’s. Do it by sucking up your pride and attending the most organized, biggest, and most well-run tournament of the year even though it’s on Supergun instead of arcade (like Vic Vance, an FFA player that I actually respect). You don’t make friends with an ego like the one you’re sporting.
I still don’t claim to be a top 3S player, and I’m not calling you out. Infact, I’m sure you’re still better than me. Just letting you know that cockiness doesn’t get you friends. You could take some tips from Justin, it’s good to see a top player that is so humble despite getting so much hate.
I hope we can be friends one day. I promise I’m a nice guy.
I won Norcal Regionals 2, where I defeated Ricky (#1 USA 3s player at the time).
But I guess that doesn’t count. Why? I don’t know.
The definition of a USA major is a regular tournament at FFA plus 30 scrubs entering.

God, all these assumptions about how I felt, why I was late blah blah blah. If you had bothered to read previous posts I said, the night before evo I said to myself “sleep or evo” (being that it was already 5am plus we had to take the japanese back to their place and I had to be there between 8am-9am), and I chose sleep. So I showed up at 3pm to check it out, looked pretty lame compared to last year, watts said it was way too late for sign up. Me and 720 gave high fives for not entering such a let down of a tournament.
In fact, later that day, vic told me what a waste of money it was to enter evo. The same guy you respect right?
Next point you don’t know: Do you think Ive never played/beaten Raoh? I’m sorry Harvey but you are just ignorant. Maybe the fact that his loss came during a “shit-in-your” lap tournament makes justin’s win more impressive to you. In fact Ive faced Raoh before many times (everytime i go to japan we play) and beaten him in an overnight tourney when I was in japan before. In fact he and boss came up and challenged me and rock one day at more amusement and we beat them. If you need proof ask daigo he was watching it.

Saying FFA is not USA is little ridiculous IMO however.
It wasn’t a money match, we had to face each other at the World Championships of 3s and I beat him 2-0. I thought that would have settled it too, but the fanboys disagree.
We had 64 3s entries at this tournament. Seems like a major to me.
FFA is in the USA but is above the rest of the usa in 3s, thats what Japan and me believe.
You see, this is why people don’t like you, because you’re pretty much the definition of an elitist, ie. “If I don’t like the controls the tournament is null and void” Or maybe it’s because you don’t care about anyone who isn’t FFA or the japanese? Man, I envy you guys!!! You have the opportunity to claim arcade spots that still play Capcom fighters loyally! People claiming FFA/Texas/East Coast and what not, you all should be grateful!!! :mad: I’ve been trying to find some people to play w/ in my area and haven’t been able to find anyone who would play w/ me! And to the guy claiming FFA this and that, just be thankful man that you have ‘great’ players to play w/ anytime you feel like it. :mad:

The people that hate me are the people who know nothing about 3s and their opinions don’t matter.
I am on japanese level; every japanese 3s player tells me that. In fact they have said FFA is japanese level; USA is good but definitely behind FFA.
As for Japanese tournaments, Ive won a team tournament before. I’ve placed 3rd in a singles tournament at newton, above ksk, ko, mester, deshiken, but sadly I haven’t gotten a first place finish yet by myself.
But I guess I can use the exodus argument and say I was having problems with the sticks because I had to play on a japanese cabinet. Get out of jail free pass
NCR2 has 28 people, which is small, but it had the best 3s player in the USA at the time, Ricky Ortiz, whom I defeated.
JWong wins the mongolian tournaments, team FFA does battle with the japanese at SBO 2. Fascinating…
Finally, you guys can talk all you want, but when it comes down to it who from the USA is going to beat me? I’ve already beaten all of the “champs” you guys have spawned out from those “majors”…
