Anyways, okay. A-Ken is pretty fun, alot more fun in C though IMO. I’ve never really seen a good A-Sagat, they usually get trashed so I can’t help you there… And A-Sak is well, as someone stated, the “Ken of 3S.” And using her as anchor is hard to do now, but nonetheless still good if you play her really well, I hope you can do Shoshosho and stuff.
If you focus on getting a custom in, you won’t get it in, you must wait for it to be open.
That team position seems fine enough, Ken builds meter fast if you land BnB alot.
Oh shit, I know it’s kind of old, but I landed Bison PTF on my friend at school today… They suck, did I mention R4 S-Ryo? Now it’s just to get the SCB at the end of Athena’s CC more consistant.
Id put A-Sagat over A Ken. I dont know sagats custom that does 80% but I do know that Kens custom is braindead easy and fights Bison very well (unless bison has meter but then matchups dont apply to him). Sak doesnt need meter to beat anyone. Shes solid all around and has great anti airs and pokes. Dont forget the annoying RC’s
Ive been experimenting with A-Sagat/Sak/Blanka whenever I see a vega as a battery. Vega cant do much except random roll activate or empty jump activate. Vega cant walk in - pokes stuffed by s.lk. Cant jump against a deep tiger uppercut. Fierce stuffs some of vegas pokes too. Unless theres something I’m missing, vega has a tough time against sagat.
So I’ve been fucking around with my team order and this is the absolutely crack headed team I came up with.
K Nak, Mai, Balrog.
Nak takes care of Vega, Mai takes care of A-Sak, and imho Balrog can fight (read: NOT quite counter) Blanka / Sagat.
I mean at the least I think Nak goes toe to toe with Vega for being an annoying bitch, Mai runs the fuck away from A-Sak all day, both girls can also annoy Rolento, and Balrog can give Sagat a run for his money, but definitely has to work for it against Blanka. I’ve yet to try this team against someone who had Bison as an anchor.
In all honestly I just need an answer to stopping people from being fags with Vega / Sak; this is what I’ve come up with, but everything else I’m fine with. I’m no expert mind you, but then that’s why I’m posting this up for discussion.
And yes, I know K-Balrog is super gimmicky / sucks, but I looooooove playing him.
I used A-sagat, as my starter for evo, I liked it allot against vega :looney: . I used to put him as my first character after evo. Evo was my frist time trying it. So maybe ill just put him as my first from now on. Thanks.
K Nak, Mai, Balrog: That’s team annoyance right there. Rog is a hard R2 in K-groove, he beats up Sagat for free if you ask me. Nak is mix up central you can’t stop rushing with her, and Mai has very nice pokes, and anti-air tatics. Her Fans she thorws comes out fast, jump off the wall run away game is too gay. I like her better in C-groove Personally, but she can get the job done in any groove.
I want to run away with K-Mai because A-Sak can’t touch her. I want to force her into making a mistake, and if not, I’ll just keep running the hell away, especially when the bitch is sitting on meter.
As for K-Nak, well you see you’re thinking offensively, I’m not. I said I want to stop people from fagging out with him, and in all honesty I’ve had the most success with her. I play a bit more of a defensive game in K (why, I don’t know, it’s just how I ROLL), and thus far j.lk or j.fp with Nak stops much everything he throws out in the air. Outside of that it’s just using her small jump RH and mixing up really.
But yeah, it’s a stupid team, I know, but I’m absolutely sick of playing K Blanka, K Cammy puts me to sleep, and I can’t play Sagat for shit. I’m at the breaking point of hating this game to shit and enjoying it all over again, so this is what I’m going with.
I was wondering if I could get some help picking the best counter matchups for my C team (Rock, Guile, R-2 Ken). Specifically I’m looking for who I should try to match up against Naks. For my K team I use Geese and can easily dispatch her without any issue whatsoever, so I originally tried Rock, but he’s not working to well. Guile seems to be a horrible choice as well because her special ground dash attack thingy goes under his sonic boom which really hurts me. Ken doesn’t do too hot either as she goes under the hadouken, and I’d much rather save him for somebody else since I can play Ken pretty solidly against almost everybody else.
So who’s the safest option to try to match against Naks? Also, I’m sorta up in the air as to my Sagat counter. I can keep up with him with Ken if I’m extremely focused, but it sure as hell ain’t easy, so I’m leaning towards Guile, but I’m not too sure how good of a matchup that is.
I want to know who on my team would work best to counter her. I like my team, and have no intent to change it, I just want to know who on it would be best to pick when going up against her. That way I can know who to practice in particular against her. I thought I made that clear, it appears I didn’t.

And the only reason I’m getting hit by it is because it’s being activated right after tossing out a sonic boom, so I don’t have time to block. Basically if I throw it out I get hit, no matter how bad a move it may be.
Edit: And people wonder why the community is dieing. It’s because people are trying to get more into the game and get treated like they are complete idiots because they don’t yet know all the ins and outs.
and that is why I consider Nak to be the most annoying character in all of CvS2, higher than Vega and Mai and Cammy. Yes yes I know “just whiff a normal so she can do her slide and punish the slide” but still she’s really annoying. Anyone have vids of Ricky using her? Cuz you know…vids are the only way people are gonna seriously talk about her heh heh
Zero: Be a little less predictable with your sonic booms then >_>; You dont have to throw one out all the freaking time nor at the far distance and etc…because to be able to be ground slided everytime, i would expect you to be totally predictable…
i remember otk having a pretty sick nak. he would be like flying all around and jukin and goin left and right and ooooooooh shit super regeneration FUCK.
Yeah sorry about that, didn’t mean to be a total asshole about it…
…but I want to know who this psychic Nak player is. To be able to react to projectiles with enough time to hit you everytime, especially sonic booms that recover faster than normal projectiles, you are either using projectiles too often/at the wrong times, or this player is truly psychic.
I don’t mean to make you feel like an idiot…the point of my attitude was to try and help you see that there are usually pretty simple answers to most of the problems people have, and that you shouldn’t stress over it.
Oh, for Sagat…I think C-Guile is a good match, but ANY match with ANY Sagat is stressful, so there isn’t really a surefire counter character for him.
