i’m new to this game…i’ve been playing quite a bit recently though…i don’t use any other grooves other than k or n…but mostly k…Vega(claw) Rock, R2 Hibiki is the team i usually win the most with …but i’m having some trouble with pressure characters mainly bison…i seem to always be in danger of losing my guard with hibiki i can zone out pretty well but for whatever reason he seems to give me trouble…i mainly try to be random with vega and just frustrate ppl i think he’s my best but i don’t use him r2 due to the fact he can lose the mask claw and whatever immediately making him less effective…with rock i pressure a lot mk…qcb lp is my best friend…although i don’t know any mix ups using him or hibiki…anyone have any tips for a newbie to this game but not fighting games in general…how do you get hibiki’s jumping rh to keep them blocking i usually either do it to early or too late(it doesn’t come out)…any good links to the lights out super with her?..
Hibiki has a lot of mix-ups off the cr. short.
cr.lk, cr.lk, dp+k
cr. lk kick throw
cr. lk, cr.lk, J. Hk crossover.
Her best mixups are off of a knockdown. I’m too lazy to list them so look through the hibiki facts.
I’m just starting to play this game myself (mostly because nobody here plays Marvel :/). Right now my team is either K-Cammy/Gief(R3) or K-Cammy/Geese/Gief(R2). Suggestions; comments?
gief sucks as a r2 and in general. if you wanna use him, use him in K like you are but as a 1. put geese as the 2. learn running 360s with gief
It’ll be a hard one to do Cammy, Geese, Gief. Gief isn’t like Alpha 3, so yeah, he’s not that great. Gief would be a great ratio 1, and put Cammy and Geese as either R2’s, as they’re both solid. Geese is a kind-of character to begin with, but he’s worth it. Your team is similar to my team until I learn Bison PTF. I hope you know Cammy has a pretty damn damn grab reach, so abuse grabs in mixups, her normals are pretty damn awesome, a very easy character to learn with. Geese his K-throw when raged is great, it’s like as everyone says, level 1 super. He has pretty simple BnB’s once you learn how to use the stick right and whatnot, practice moon command for RS, it’s not as good as his DR, but it is quick and catches people off guard. Good thing is you don’t have to worry about RC’ing, but just learn to JD and whatnot and you should be fine.
switch zangief for raiden.
Or he could switch to Honda.
Raiden is more like Zangief. And Sagat sux
Sagat I understand, but why Raiden? And yeah, thanks for the advice.
Can anyone explain the logic behind the ratio configurations people use? Like, I figured because Gief was so damaging setting him at R3/R2 would make the most use of that. Geese is pretty strong too, so that I get, but I don’t understand why to set Cammy to R2–Her fierces and throws are okay, but the damage is nothing like Geese or Gief.
And what is “moon command”?
K Cammy as R2 is 1,000% brain dead. Which is a good thing. Geese and Gief do their damage by getting into your head first, and then wreaking havoc. Cammy just has to keep pressing foward and FP / FK; couple that with the damage boost as R2 AND raging meter and the other guy will be running for his life.
;p
Cammy is r2 for matchup purposes. Cuz ull see lots and lots of sagats. Also i was kidding with the raiden thing. I just suggested him because he’s a 360 guy.
I was just kidding about Honda too, he’s not that great in K, I only said cuz he had a 360 throw.
K-Raiden is pretty good in the hands of a skilled user…which there aren’t many of in this world.
I think Cammy as an R2 is good because it’s not stressful at all to play her. She is a braindead character…most top tiers are…that’s part of what makes them tops. Other reasons are good damage and easy/abusable gimmicky things like whoring RC elec, Sagat’s random fiercing, etc…but simplicity makes top tiers accessible to everyone. My point being that it’s easier to comeback and win or maintain an advantage without having to worry about how you’re gonna get in or deal damage or whatever else you might worry about with other characters. She isn’t an ideal R2, though…she takes damage like a girl…'cause she is one…and part of her being simple to use makes her simple to counter.
this thread has gone down the shitter since allen took over.
go kill yourself please.
Ive decided to switch to N groove and use Hibiki, Morrigan, R2 Sagat. Ive learn to combo into Darkness Illusion so thats exciting ( for me at least ) MY hibiki and Sagat are getting better. I just was thinking should it be Morrigan Hibiki R2 Sagat?
only problem i see with ur team is that except for sagat, every one on ur team needs to have supers readily available. Hibki isn’t too good at meter building, Morrigan sucks without supers just ask buk. U may wanna keep sagat and hibiki, and find a battery Iori maybe. But Hibiki r2 in the middle is innovative:tup:
See i was thinking of Iori but he seems really hard to play. Ah I might as well start now if im gonna use him.
That team is fine. Last I checked, Morrigan needs one knockdown and then the mind games start…which build meter pretty well. Hibiki’s bread and butter builds pretty good meter…even when blocked. I would just say that RCing consistently and at the right times would be important to learn…but if you can pull off the Darkness Illusion combo okay than you should be fine. You have to be able to short, short into deadly rave thing with Hibiki too.
R2 Sagat anchoring is always good…so your battery/user lineup is dependent on matchups and how comfortable you are playing each character. You’re gonna have to be really good, though…those bitches take damage like nothing else.
Morrigan i think is one stressful SOB. One missed DI and its like “Oh shit gotta get in again” right into an uppercut. And yea that team is good, but not beginner material.
