Okay I’m playing N-Vega, Athena, Hibiki. For some reason it feels a little weird, like no “strong” character. Should I put Athena first, since she’s a real great battery, or would a team like this belong in K?
You’ve got two batteries there - vega and athena. If you’re stuck with those two, just go according to matchups. If someone put someone 1st whos a bad matchup for vega, switch and vice versa
Athena/Vega k groove are iffy to me. No roll for athena and vega doesnt have rcs anymore.
Yeah I was noticing that with Vega and Athena. Athena could make use of the lvl 1 supers for her SCB. Vega, I don’t know if his lvl 1’s are worth anything.
My idea though this is temporary until I get A-Bison’s PTF, then I’m changing to Athena, Hibiki, Bison.
Never got back to you on this, but Thanx anyway. Im tryin’ to get into this before this game officially dies out if it hasnt already.
A while back in this thread I asked about the idea of putting a r2 in the middle slot. After some consideration, I’ve decided to go with the following ;
P Mai/Chun (R2)/Kyo
Normally I’d have Kyo in the front, but I don’t think I’d be comfortable with Mai or any of my other characters as a ratio 1 in the back. So I put Mai in the front, she can build meter and usually can runaway and pick away to at the very least cancel out the other persons 1st character. Chun comes in with meter which is usually always successful, and should something go horribly wrong its not out of the question for Kyo to make a comeback.
Thoughts?
Chun is still a better comeback character than Kyo, imo. Plus, he is a more consistent battery than Mai. The order and/or ratio of your team should be determined by your comfort level using them, and/or how well you are with opposing matchups. As a default, with your team, I would go Kyo, Mai, R2 Chun. Kyo is a momentum player, a great battery, and can go way deep into your opponents team. This gives Mai meter and a comfortable lead so she can run away and further piss off your opponent. Should Kyo fizzle out and do nothing, you still have Mai to run away and regain control of the match…putting your R2 Chun in position to mount a comeback.
I think with teams that have characters who are all the same tier. It would be wise to switch the ratios and orders around. Its still good to have a set order and everything, but since they are…“mid tier” they will run into top tier problems. In general your last character should usually be a character that can comeback. P mai and chun aint going to do anything imo if they are behind. Kyo on the other hand. one mistake and thats big damage plus momentum which could eventually lead to stun points adding up and dizzy. Leezy, your avatar should have the k groove bar raging. You bastard.
I was gonna go into the whole switching ratio/order depending on matchups, but I wanted to avoid actually going into when it would be good to do that. Plus, I hella didn’t even notice that it was for P. That makes me agree with you…'cause P-Kyo is scary…but the girls, well, I’d run into their attacks just to watch their tits jiggle. (I wouldn’t really, but that’s about as good of a “Kim” type response I can give)
Hey Kim, wanna fix my avatar for me? Like stop them from flashing, rage my K-bar…possibly throw in Morrigan…and maybe Eagle?
Are you coming up for NCR? No one can replace your pervin’…well, over girls anyway. Keith got dem boyz in his sights.
I’m planning on going to norcal sometime in novemeber, whenever campbell goes there, just to chill for a weekend. I’m goin to watch keith do his circle dance with random males and im going to spit some lines at girls at the bar. and leezy will be in attendance. But i dont plan on going to NCR. If you used K sagat cammy rock… man… the girls would be creaming
you couldn’t have asked a better person to rage your k-bar
that’s the only thing kim is good for.
raging that k-bar, S’ing that D.

Something on topic. K-Sagat, Cammy, Rock is a good team… he’s going to have it AWWWW
I started trying to get back into this game again. I was wondering who would make the better battery for my new team:
C-Chun/Ken/Sagat(r2)
I think I saw some vids of them, and the user started both Chun and Ken at different times. I can play both Chun and Ken equally at the same level, so I am just wondering which is the best to start I guess.
definitley ken. chun sucks without meter and being able to punish everything with s.mp xx super
I would watch how they react to you jumping. I have a bad habit of getting lazy with anti airs and just doing parry into normal. If they do that then you can get away with some empty jumps into cr short st jab xx ball or throw. Mainly just get a feel with how well they can control the air.
Few other random things. Consider cr mk (parried) into a back or forward hop. Then you can bait from a distance or do the usual mix up of rc elec, throw, cr short, etc. There’s also whiffing jab Blanka Ball, which will usually do a decent job of opening them up to mashing.
Honda/Joe RC Hands still own me for free.
